The mental summons went out, calling the six to Professor Xavier's office. Urgency, unusual in the usually composed founder and headmaster of the Institute, colored the psychic call. This was not a summons to be refused.

Joey liked this idea like he liked a root canal. One team was gone, so they were being sent out to follow whoever went before into certain doom?

"So...I'm guessing this island in the Pacific isn't a tropical resort by chance? Because if were rescuing people from Paradise, I could be a little bit more with this." Joey says.

"But, hey, could be worse. How are we gettin' there?" he asks.

"I do not know, precisely, what the island entails," he told Joey, "though it was supposed to have been uninhabited."

If the Professor had picked up on their uncomfortableness with the mission or their selection, he showed no outward signs of it.

"I have prepared one of the smaller Blackbirds for you," he explained. "It can depart as soon as you are ready. Make haste. With each passing moment, I fear more and more for the missing X-Men!"
