Downtown Ottawa
"We are standing here at 207 Bank Street outside the US Embassy in Ottawa where it appears that Alpha Flight, Canada's premier superhero team is attacking. Large sections of the building are being destroyed and even nature itself appears to be attacking as the winds have picked up and large chunks of hail are breaking windows. A member of Alpha Flight zoomed into the building and appeared on the roof with the ambassador. A moment later the member dropped the ambassador and he fell to the pavement below.

Police are on the scene, but are unable to stop Alpha Flight. Police cars and officers have been thrown around and it doesn't appear anything or anyone is going to be able to stop this apparent rampage by Alpha Flight. What has caused Alpha Flight to do this? Why are they doing this? There are too many questions to be answered at this moment.

Wait a minute. What's this? It now appears that the damage is done and lives have been lost, Alpha Flight is leaving the scene. The police aren't giving chase at the moment, but this reporter is sure that the military will apprehend Alpha Flight at some point."

Jordan is confused. They didn't care about the evidence. They didn't care about the security tapes. International diplomats saw Alpha Flight threatening the embassy and want blood... and now their own government is giving it to them. Which, of course, does nothing to stop the people who attacked the embassy.

Of course, this is the part where he gets to be tricky. They've made sure he's well restrained and accounted for his super strength. The problem? That's not Jordan's super power, those are side effects. He's had a little bit of chance to practice with what he's gotten off his teammates, even if its minor, and discovered an oddity.

He can't possess a place and give impressions like Mel, but he's getting more sensitive to the use of her abilities and ability to pick up on impressions from a place. As he passes by her cell on the way back to his, he makes sure to brush the door of her cell, and thinks, as clearly as he can 'we're getting out of here, come see me' - giving the impression as much weight as he can, hoping she'll at least pick up on his presence and that he's trying to get her attention.

That done, he quietly heads back to his cell and waits.

It was entirely too hot in Marrina's cell. And it was a dry heat too. She'd been allowed enough water to keep her alive, but they were purposefully keeping her to weak to use her strength or her other powers.

She didn't know what the others had gone through, but she'd had her loyalties questioned. Severely. As in they questioned whether this was part of the forefront of an Atlantean invasion that she'd convinced the others to go along with.

And right now, the thought of going Imperius Regina on their asses was helping hold her together.

Dammit. She needed water.

This is bad. This is very bad. Whatever they had on his powers, they hadn't taken any chances. After the questioning, they'd brought him somewhere different than the first place.

And that's when the guards ended up dancing a two-step on his face with their fists and shoved him inside a wooden crate. Bastards even knew not to nail it shut. Mason could hear ropes being wrapped around the panel that had shut the top. They'd done their homework.

He was terrified with wondering what might be happening to the rest of the team, but he had to do something. The loose change in his wallet and the polyster jersey he'd thrown on had been just enough to make a hand held non-powered drill. Just enough to let him get a peek into where he was being held. Or drill to freedom, in about eighteen months.

Still guarded, and no windows in whatever room they were in that he could see. Fantastic.

Framed for a crime they didn't commit, locked up in cells tailored to their abilities, and no hope of appeal.

If whatever plan any of the others came up with worked, this was going to be legendary. A TV show and comic books would be made. Maybe even a movie.

Alex didn't even bother shifting to human form for the interrogation. He stayed in the beagle form and gave them a bored look during the whole thing. There were a lot of questions and he answered them to the best of his ability.

They escorted him to a cell with no openings save for the door. A force field was put up around the door to keep him from changing and slipping under it.

He jumped up on the cot and curled up.

They'd told her the food she was eating was the same food they gave her grandfather at Ryker's. With knowing glowering, like she didn't know her grandfather was a monster. Like that was news. Her stomach was in knots; she felt so awful. But it was when they made reference to 'the background on /both/ sides of the family that she got quietly angry. And more scared. So scared.

After the questions, she was sick. And sick again. As she lay on the floor, she could hear the guards, somewhere in the distance, comment that she wasn't much for a 'third-generation terrorist.'

She didn't know what was supposed to happen now.

The metal wasn't very comfortable at all as she slipped a little into the floor.
And then she felt it. Jordan. Jordan needed her.
Mel took a deep breath, gathered her strength --- it wasn't much, but it would have to do, so it was going to do -- and worked her way slowly into the floor, the walls, towards Jordan.

The room will be nervous and upset once she gets to it, but she'll get to it.

The Canadian government took great pains to make sure Jordan couldn't escape his imprisonment. They spared no expense when it came to something that could contain his strength and make sure he was locked down.

Thankfully, he's not worried about breaking himself out, not directly. As soon as he picks up on Mel's presence he sits back against the wall where he senses her, and speaks quietly.

"Get Mason out. They'll have him in wood and rope, nothing you can't handle. Get to Alex, just have Mason make a big enough hole a garter snake can get through and Alex will figure it out. As soon as the hole is made, trust him to go get Marrina. They have them close together and he'll be able to smell her. He should have it easy, since you and Mason will draw all the attention - that should buy him time to get Marrina and get her to water. Then its your call - Mason will want to rescue Marrina, then me - you need to get him to trust Alex to handle Marrina. After that, its your decision. If there's too much security, make a break for it, I'll be fine. If you can make it, tell Mason not to try manipulating my bonds - even secondary adamantium tends to resist transmutation. But there's got to be something in the electronic lock he can mess with - just get him to do that. I can't break the chains, but all the chains in the world won't do any good if the bonds unlock - then run for it and let me cover you. If you understand these instructions, give me a sign and get to it - we're all counting on you."

There'll be a subtle bit of a concentration of violet shading on the shadowed wall within his sight. It essentially forms an 'OK,' and then it's gone.

Some time later, Mel's carefully into Mason's room, carefully undoing the ropes.

Mason hears the shuffling of ropes and goes to his peek-hole. "Mel? Are we busting out?"

There's a very soft shushing sound. "Jordan says it's time to go. We get Alex next." And she keeps working at getting him out with maximum efficiency.

Once he sees enough ropes fall off, he carefully lifts the lid up. He's got a black eye and some bruising from when the guards forced him in, but he's alright.

"What about Marrina? What if they're experimenting on her or something? And how are we supposed to get out without Jordie? I mean, of course we'll rescue Alex too, but.." He trails off as he climbs out of the box, not sure what to do.

"We get Jordan last, if we can. Jordan said so, and it's his plan."

And she'll sink through floors and walls for a moment, and for a moment, there'll be the slightest, tiniest whispers in the air currents of Alex's room.

"Alex... soon.... Find Marrina. Get her to water"

And as soon as she can, after observing more of the security surroundings, she returns to Mason, showing him the right wall, and pointing to the corner. "Make it something there could be a little snakehole in. Then get ready to move"

"All right..."

Mason puts his hands to the wall. They're thick, thick and dense. He shuts his eyes to concentrate. "Come on girl... talk to me..." It's not like being back at headquarters, where he could obsess over every little detail of the blueprints and get an idea ahead of time. It's a lot of information coming at him at once as he feels out the wall and it's contents.

Hit a support line and the wall could crack too much. Hit a utility line and they'll have too much attention on them. Too convoluted a path and he won't be able to make it in enough transmutations.

He lets out a breath as his hands tense, and a tunnel, not quite straight, but not tangled, forms in the wall. A second transmutation and it's wide enough for at least a small snake to get through.

Alex shifted into the smallest snake he possibly could. Snakes, thankfully had a knack for getting through very small spaces. He slithered through the small opening and out into the hallway.

//I will go get Marrina.//

With that he shifted into the beagle and ran off down the hall. He could smell Marrin and it was just a matter of following the scent.
