Two days in New York City
Jenny was happy to conveniently forgot her scheduled appointment with Dr. Samson, but leave it to Rob to have it on his calendar. The day before, she was notified that she would be collected at 6am and delivered to the S.H.I.E.L.D. transport for the New York run.

She tossed a few items into her shoulder bag along with a new book. She didn't need anymore than that as Rob had kept their leased apartment in New York. Between his monthly trips back to New York and her infrequent traveling, he said it was worth hanging onto it. Everything she might need was already there.

A note was posted on the refrigerator so the team would know she would be in the States for a couple of days. She also included a post script asking Leech to make sure Yankee Clipper was fed. She really hoped Quinn would continue to be tolerant and not turn YC into a fluffy orange and white throw pillow.

In New York, she had time to shower and change clothes before presenting herself at Dr. Samson's office promptly at 3pm. Each time she had one of these appointments she hoped it would be the last. Each time he said he would see her again in three months. At least this time she would have something different to contribute to the conversation.

"I'd come out and see you in London, certainly. It might be about a month for me, too. I'm still settling in with the Defenders and getting an idea of what my own schedule will be, but I want to see you again, Jenny." he says.

He turns to look at her now as well, his eyes staring right into hers. He pauses before his next question, thinking out how he wants to phrase it.

"So...where do you we go from here, Miss Woolverton?"

Jenny met his gaze. She had the sense of standing on the edge and poised leap off into space. She had hope that someone would catch her.

She put a hand on his face and smoothed his bottom lip with her thumb. "I like what we have here, Andy. All of it. I'd like to think it's a start. Not an easy one. Two countries and I don't know how many time zones, but this feels worth the effort to try."

	He let out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding. "Jenny, I like it, too. I want this to be a beginning rather than an ending. It won't be easy at all, but I want this." he says, leaning into kiss her. "So, you're kind of stuck with me." he grins. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Jenny didn't answer immediately. She was a little distracted by the play of muscle under skin when Andy moved. He moved like he danced, and that made her skin warm. "One of these visits, we'll have to visit the gym and compare training methods." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"If you don't mind my pretending to be weaker than I am, we can do that. I try not to flaunt my strength; it draws attention, and not the good kind." he says.

"But seeing you in the gym is something I'll look forward to." he says. She took care of herself, from what he could tell. He liked the way she walked, the way she moved; he reminded himself to dance with her more the next time he saw her.

	Jenny leaned back against him. Perceptive guy, but she was going to make the most of the next few hours and begin planning for their next visit. Fishnet stockings were fun, but maybe she could talk Tamara into a lingerie shopping afternoon. She turned her head and kissed his chin. "I am okay with you. "I don't blame you. I keep expecting to wake up any moment and realize that we haven't met yet. But this is real, Jenny, and I'll make sure to e-mail you a way that you'll know for certain." he grins.

Yep, he was going to have to tell Mom, Wyatt and Dad about Jenny, as well as Argo. He wanted his family to know about the great girl he'd met.

"All right. We're going to do what you want to do with our next few hours together. Breakfast, then book shopping? Or do you want to try seeing some other sights together before we go?" he asks.

She wanted Rob to meet Andy and think him every bit as wonderful as she did. She fully expected her brother to be pleased she's found someone who thought she was worth getting to know after learning her secret.

"Breakfast, then the bookstores. You can learn a lot about someone by what they read. I find myself intensely curious by you." She turned in his arms and hugged him tight. "I'll be out in a few minutes."

	He hugs her in return and kisses the top of her head. "Oh, I think I might bore you to death with my book choices." he says. "But take your time in there. I'll be right here when you get out." 	"I doubt you could ever bore me to death in any way. You can leave me breathless with just one word." She gently disentangled herself and reached for her coffee cup. "I'll be right back. 	Andy did some minor cleaning up of things, including washing the dishes while Jenny was getting ready. He'd only been here a couple of days, but he liked it here. He liked being with her. When she comes out, she'll find him sitting on the couch, listening to Ella Fitzgerald. He smiles when he sees her. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Fifteen minutes later, Jenny emerged to the sounds of Ella through the apartment, dressed and ready to head out. She smiled back at him from the doorway, working the long, damp mass of hair into a loose braid. There was no need to waste time with a hair dryer when it would dry quickly enough in the heat when they left for breakfast.

"You have great taste in music. Ella makes me want to dance in the dark."

"Good to know. I can work with that information." Her smile widened. "C'mon handsome, let's go eat."

The corner diner had actually seen quite a bit of her before she made the move to London. It had been her first stop for breakfast every weekday morning before class for the year after her discharge from S.H.I.E.L.D. medical.

She was glad to see it hadn't changed much. It was still busy, but a couple of stools at the counter were open.

	He escorts her to the counter and then sits down, taking a look at the menu. A small TV nearby talks about the tragedy in Fargo, Georgia, a subject that has dominated the news over the last few weeks. "That whole thing is just terrible, you know. Like other mutants must be doing, Jenny had closely followed the news reports from Fargo.

"It's never a good time to be a mutant," she said quietly, watching the news report. She took his hand. Rob spent years hammering at her that she needed to take care and hide what she was to avoid being labeled along with the others. "Getting people to realize we're not all the same seems to fail a little more every day."
