Bye Bye Boys (and Girls)! Have Fun Storming the Castle!
The day to retake Camelot had finally come. Arthur's knights, lead by the Black Knight, rode out from their encampment. They were a force of three thousand strong. Armor gleamed in the light of the setting sun and off the sharp edges of swords and spears.

They rode for two hours before they came to a halt a few miles from Camelot.

Here a small group would split from the main body and carry out their mission while the rest would ride to besiege the castle.

Svalin patted Tryggvi's neck when they came to a stop and he started pawing the ground. Her mount had been eager to take to the air and as eager for battle as Svalin was, but she had held him back. They had spent enough time waiting for Arthur's forces to gather. The longer they waited, the more Svalin grew impatient. She tried to busy herself with helping at the forges and sparring with whomever dared to spar against her, but it hadn't taken the edge off of the anticipation for the coming battle.

Tryggvi reared and Svalin brought him back down. "Easy, my friend. We wilt see battle anon." Her voice was soft as she tried to calm her steed. They were about to go into battle and yet Svalin paused a moment to think of her siblings. What glorious battles were they seeing without her? What foes were they fighting? Were they still alive?

She looked over at Vernique who was riding next to her. She looked a little nervous. It was to be expected. Most of their forces were nervous and many would die this day. Svalin had seen the shadow of death clinging to many of them. It was selfish, but she was glad none of her companions were to be touched by death this day.

Then Svalin looked past Vernique and at a knight named Lancelot. The man had been following Vernique around since the first day they rode into camp. She didn't know if Vernique had favored him with her attention or not and Svalin did not pry.

Tryggvi reared again. Something was not right. Her mount was battle trained and they had faced many battles without the nervousness he was displaying today.

She watched as the Black Knight called the small group forward. Charlie, Vernique, Ryan and two of Arthur's knights would break off from the main body and ride around to the west. They would approach Camelot from the rear and try to sneak into the castle to open the gates for the rest of the host. Svalin and the rest were to provide a distraction until their mission was accomplished.

"In the morn we wilt raise drinks to the fallen and to our victory," Svalin said. "May thou have safe passage and thine weapons find the enemy."

Iason is good at distractions. He's also less worried than most about Kang's energy weapons. He lets the stealth group get underway, then launches into the skies and towards Camelot.

Vernique flashed Svalin a reassuring smile.

She gave one to Lancelot, too. Hadn't laid a hand on the fellow, as it happened; she knew how This Sort of Thing Went, in her opinion. In this kind of culture, the more enthralled they looked, the less likely they were ever going to touch you.

She'll nod confidently-looking at everyone, and head off with the others at the appointed time.

Ryan had been studying a map of the city to prepare for his part of the attack. He felt as ready as he could for this and had all the stuff he thought he might need for this fight.

Charlie sat astride his horse, waiting for the right moment to lead off with his group.

Eli brings his sword to the battle, and is ready to face any enemy set before him. He's been training as often as possible, going over Svalin's teachings in great detail. Today, he will put them to use.

He nods to each of his companions, a silent assurance that they will be victorious today. They have little other choice, in truth.

Standing next to Charlie, Eli looks out over the field of battle.

Svalin saluted the stealth team with her sword as they rode off.
