What's In a Name?
After being on the run for crimes they didn't commit, Alpha Flight finally had a lead on the people responsible for their current situation. It had taken all the know how of the team to track down a group calling themselves Omega Flight.

"I am so frigging tired of fighting big hairy dudes!" Mason screams, diving to the floor, sending a pillar of steel flying up at the beast's jaw.

The pillar hits Wendigo in the jaw, knocking him off course, but it doesn't slow him. His blood is up, and he was going to feast on the flesh of the little pink man-thing.

"RRRAAAGGGGGGH!" he bellows, leaping at Mason again.

Mason scrambles across the floor on all fours, setting off another transmutation, this time trying to bind the animal by its legs, as the floor morphs and then solidifies into steel restraints.

Jordan leaves the damaged Mandroid to Mason, and pulls the switch with his little brother. With the Wendigo slowed down by the restraints and focused on Mason, he lowers his shoulder and slams at full speed into its exposed side just under the ribs, burying his shoulder where it hits, keeping his head low so he's hard to get to and under its easy reach, and begins pummeling as hard and fast as he can into its gut.

Wendigo growls in surprise, pain and rage as Jordan hits him, smashing him against a wall. The ivory beast recovers quickly, but then finds himself under continued assault from the Alpha Flight heavy.

The long arms that normally keep his prey at bay until he's ready to destroy him now hinder him as Jordan slips inside is reach, forcing Wendigo try to batter the young man with massive forearms and knees if he can.

On one hand, that hurts. The Wendigo is incredibly strong, enough to challenge even Jordan's resistance. On the other hand, he's pretty happy trading blows from this position. He has his feet under him and leverage, so the monster isn't going to knock him down. Likewise, as long as it can't get to his head, he'll take the Wendigo battering at his torso while Jordan has clear punches, even if they're short, quick jabs in rapid succession at its guts - far more vulnerable. He'd be the first to acknowledge that its stronger than he is - perhaps far stronger, but he's the tougher of the two.

He does work on pinning those knees in a bit, trying to limit it to the forearm strikes a bit more, and keeps hammering at its side, not too proud to take kidney shots where he can get them.

The accumulating body shots hurt like hell and Wendigo finds its durability tested by this smaller creature. Rarely, if ever, has it had prey that was so small, yet so strong.

The faintest trickle of blood begins to spill from Wendigo's lips, but now it fights harder, trying to get its massive arms around Jordan to throw him against a wall or just /away/ from it, so that it can pounce and tear the little man apart with its claws.

He gets in a few more good shots while it leaves itself open trying to get a hold, but ultimately longer arms and greater strength wins. He's thrown, and slams hard into one of their base walls.

He shakes it off as quickly as he can, pushing back up to his feet and readying himself, sure its going to charge now that he has it good and mad.

Now that it is free, Wendigo gets its bearings, but is definitely favoring its ribs on the right side. It grunts through the pain now, growling at Jordan.

The moment its ready, it lunges at the younger man, extending a claw-tipped arm to attack.

Its strong and fast, but he's at least quite sure he's smarter. He predicted the charge, and as it lunges, he dives in a shoulder first tackle at its knees, trying to take its feet out from under it and face-plant it into the wall.

The move works to perfection and Wendigo goes crashing into the wall, knocked nearly senseless by its own bulk. The rage builds and not it throws a flurry of lightning fast swipes at Jordan, wanting to rip him to shreds!

The first couple hit perfectly, leaving long chalk-white scratches in Jordan's diamond skin, but no blood, thankfully. He's got it going now though, part of his goal - try and fight smart, don't ever match it for strength and speed. As long as he keeps it to limited blows, his invulnerability will handle it.

He backs off, forcing it to follow, then dives at its knees again, trying to knock it off balance long enough to get a couple good kicks at its injured ribs before backing off again, working on slowing it, then injuring it a bit at a time.

It's definitely injured now, and Jordan can see the fury in its eyes as it tries harder to score a tangible wound upon him. Wendigo is not a tactical fighter, and Jordan's maneuvers confound and wear down the beast.

It hobbles along now, unable to follow at greater speed. It considers choosing easier prey and leaving this one to the others.

He does his best to stand strong and look imposing, and not show any of the doubt in his mind. Under different circumstances, had he not surprised it and gotten some cheap shots in, its stronger and faster, and one of the few things capable of scoring bad wounds on him if it gets a clear shot - he just has to not let it know that.

He holds his ground, daring it to come at him, even as he prepares to go for a shoulder tackle to the small of its back if it dares turn its back on him.

Wendigo decides that it will not be run off by a fleshling. One of them will die here and now.

Roaring in defiance, Wendigo lowers its body and tries to shoulder-check Jordan into the wall and through it, if it can.

This is going to hurt. But he has an idea.

Seeing it lower its shoulder, he appears ready to try and stand his ground - then goes for the side-headlock as it rushes, letting it crash into him and bear him towards the wall, focusing on wrenching its head upward and straight.

If he does this right, yes, Wendigo is going to crash Jordan's back into, and probably through the wall. It will hurt, especially since Jordan is only able to do so much to brace - on the other hand the Wendigo will take the same impact face first.

Wendigo roars in triumph as he smashes the little man through the wall, but doesn't register what's actually happened until they collide with the wall and keep going.

The impact is more than even a creature like Wendigo can take in a single sitting and he looks like he's about to stand up and start tearing Jordan apart. Then its knees buckle and give way and Wendigo collapses in a ivory-furred heap on the ground, and doesn't move again.

Jordan is glad for that, since he's not getting up fast either. Just catching his breath after the impact is proving tough, and he's left coughing and gasping for about thirty seconds before managing to get some oxygen.
When he can stand, he staggers over, bending some of the broken metal of the wall into bindings to hog tie the Wendigo to keep it down, having to pause here and there to clear the stars in his head.

But hey, any fight you can walk away from.
