Checking on the home team
Commander Fontaine, Deputy Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., made the rounds when the special ops team came back in. After their last disastrous outing, she wanted to make sure they were still in one cohesive piece. The reports had been favorable.

She hadn't met the newest member yet, though she knew the contents of his file. She'd been the one to have it sent to Sammy for consideration. Her little gun nut, and Walker and Dugan, could always use someone with the ability to build a better gun.

Sammy's report had been terse but informative. The others' a little more informative. Landon was next on her list.

Just one more circuit, one more one more connection to finish and Ah'll go to bed. Jason thinks.

Of course, he's said this to himself over three thousand times since Sammy left to go to bed. He hopes she's sleeping peacefully, but moreover, he hopes this glove is finally calibrated to where he has something to show her in the morning.

After all, he's not actually being paid to give her massages or kiss her, though both are welcome perks of the job. He's being paid to deliver results for this team, and he plans to.

He slips on the glove and picks up the metallic disk from the table. He lightly tosses it across the room and points at the disk as it flies away from him. The silver disc stops cold, then hovers in the air.

Jason moves his arm left, then right, pulls back and the disc follows his movement.

"Excellent. Walker's new shield should work perfectly." he grins to himself.

Jason thought she looked lovely as...unmade as she currently was.

"Hey, Sam. Ah'm just down here talkin' to myself. Walker's shield is gonna work on the same premise that this whole thing is goin' on. Ah also got the basics on some of the new items Ah'm addin' to our suits together as well." he says.

"What are you doin' up? You feelin' okay?" he asks.

	"I woke up, and I'm feeling fine." She didn't move from door. Mad scientists, and didn't that thought send a tingle down her spine, often didn't like their space invaded. "Well, Ah can never rival that shield. It's an American icon. But Walker is different from Cap and needs somethin' that shows who he is." Jason says.

"Meanwhile, Ah'm workin' on somethin' like that for everyone. Ah'll have things ready to go soon, especially some new surveillance equipment Ah think may help." he says, grabbing his note pad.

"Check this out." he says, holding up a seemingly mundane knife with a heavy hand-grip. He taps a button on the grip and the knife emits a low pitched hum. He then picks up a piece of rebar from the other end of his work table and Sam will watch the knife shear through it like butter.

"Ah call it a vibro-knife. Once Ah get better materials, Ah might can make one that can knick adamantium. Maybe, but not positive." He says.

	This place was better than Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. She could think of a dozen different times in the last year alone that a knife that cut through rebar would have been helpful. "Nah." Jason says, looking around the room. "A lot of it is just baubles that don't have any function. It would just clutter up my workspace and Ah'm not bein' paid for that."

Despite his words, though, he knows he's going to miss this place a lot. This was where he first learned to invent and where his gift manifested for the first time. Grandpa showed him lots of cool new things in this very place when he was a boy. There was a part of him that always hoped he could do the same for his own son, someday, but that day was a long way off, it ever came.

"Want some ice cream or somethin'?" Jason asks with a smile.

	That had a suspicious tone to it. She was about to ask what it was that he wanted, and decided she didn't want to have that conversation so early in the morning. "I may put her on speed dials.
