Getaway
It had taken some time and a lot of hints and suggestions, but Natasha had finally convinced Tony to take a few days off and go somewhere else. Natasha was getting cabin fever and had to get out of the penthouse for a little while. She would shoot someone if she didn't get a change of scenery and she would need her husband around after the baby came.

It was nice on Martha's Vineyard this time of the year and it was close enough to New York that if something happened they could get home easily enough. The yacht was nice, but Natasha wanted dry land under her feet and places to shop. She loved the small quaint shops on the Vineyard and she would convince her husband to take her shopping.

They got settled in at Tony's house on the Vineyard after a four hour drive (and many stops to use the bathroom) and a short ferry ride over to the island. As soon as they were settled, Natasha went to find her husband to see if he wanted to go for a bite to eat. Someone was demanding french fries.

"But...but it's cute!" Tony says. "Eddie, tell your mother it's cute."

Tony leads Tasha out of the apartment and down to the local eatery. He orders the "Basket o' Fries" and tells the server to keep them coming.

"So, about this husband of yours...I hear he keeps weapons of mass destruction nearby in case you start dating while he's busy. I think we should just tell him you're having my baby and get it over with." Tony shrugs.

	"It's not cute," she said and there was a kick signaling Eddie or Nick's agreement. "He does. He likes to play with dangerous things. Very dangerous things." 	"Send a text. I have plans later that will keep you from e-mail." He considers her question, thoughtfully munching another fry. "Well, I could certainly ask Reed. 	Natasha smiled and pulled out her phone. She did send a quick text to her husband. Though it didn't say anything about the baby, but it did say she loved him. "Riiight. That Zero-Point Energy /thing/." "There's Steve and Sharon," Natasha said after a moment. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Tony smiles as Tasha sends the text and when his phone vibrates, he takes it out and replies with I love you in Russian.

"Yes, the Zero-Point /thing/. Eddie, I'll tell you the story when you're here. You need to hear it from Dad first so that your mother and sister don't throw in all kinds of insinuations and propaganda." Tony tells Tasha's belly.

"Steve and Sharon are a great idea...though Steve is a master a the lecture. But if Eddie's anything like Charlie or James, I'm willing to work with this." he says.

Natasha smiled when she saw the text.

"Nick, you need the true story, which would be your mother's version. Your father insists on clinging to that excuse of Zero Point Energy to cover up the fact that he didn't know how to change a diaper."

"Our kid will need someone to give him a lecture once and awhile," she said. "If our other kids are any indication." Though the kids were really good kids.

	Natasha reached across the table and took Tony's hand to give it a squeeze. "No one is fooled by the Zero Point Energy excuse, my love." Natasha nodded. "Yes. Tony kisses her fingers. "Anya believed it until she was about eleven or so. And it's the truth." he mock-protests.

But Tony looks incredulous at Natasha's insinuation that Eddie will be a hellraiser.

"I don't even know where to start, I'm so offended. Natasha, I am the poster child for upright, forthcoming and honest behavior. There are manuals and news stories abounding with tales of my virtue and purity--"

Tony can barely get the last word out of his mouth he's laughing so hard.

"This world is not ready for a Tony Stark 3.0." Tony says.

"You realize that's only going to amplify those Stark traits, right? What if Eddie decides he really likes being nobility and goes that route?" Tony says, thinking about that in his head for a moment.

He's already going to be drop-dead gorgeous because of his parents...getting mobbed no matter where he goes...smart as whip...

This kid will be perfect, just like Anya.

"We make beautiful kids, don't we?" he asks.

Tony wasn't sure they'd fine anything she liked there, but he was willing to go through each store one by one until she found things she wanted. He escorts her to the Antique Store and opens the door for her so she can go inside.

He sees a couple of lamps that might look nice in the penthouse, and a table that would look great in the Malibu house.

"Hm. Not a bad selection here." he says. "See anything you like?"

	Tony walks up behind his wife at the case, and he politely asks the owner if they can see the ring in question. He'll let her study the ring, while he silently makes eye contact with the cashier. He nods as if to say "I'll take it", while Tasha continues to look. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Tony follows his wife and tries to find which items are catching her attention. When she falls asleep tonight or tomorrow, he'll be back here picking everything she showed more than a passing interest in.

Something about that ring seemed to have gotten to her, though, so that would go home with them this evening.

"Do you know how sexy you look when you're just perusing?" he asks.

"All right. Then we'll go do that. But did you see that shelf of books over there?" he asks, pointing to her left.

He didn't want his wife to see him pick up the ring, hoping to surprise her when they were back home.

"See if there's anything you like there. I don't want you leaving without anything at all." he says, turning to take the ring from the cashier behind her back.
