The Road to Hell
It took Argo, Andy, and Corey no time at all to make their way to the cemetery where he had met with Pluto. The Lord of Hades had been true to his word as well, for as soon as they crossed through the gates, a great hole opened up in the ground, flames spewing out of it for a moment, before those subsided. When the flames had cleared, they could see stairs leading deep into the "earth."

Ancient runes were carved into those steps, in some language none of the three would be able to read. Roughly translated, however, they said things such as "I meant to do it this week," "I was only trying to help," and "I'm going to make a New Years resolution..."

Argo looked down those steps and thought of the woman he loved. Harmony came easily to mind and he felt his blood boil. Mephisto would learn that the Son of Hercules was not to be trifled with. He would free her even if he had to bring all of Hell down upon their heads.

"Shall we?" he asked his companions.

	Argo took one final moment to gather his thoughts and took the first steps. As they crossed the threshold, there was a distinct change in the air, a sulfurous, burning smell seemed to immediately arise. In the distance, wailing and moaning could be heard. Andy knows that Argo's courage isn't failing him, but perhaps his brother didn't realize what kind of torment a mortal soul could endure in such a short time.

He's heard stories from his family members who have visited Hell and all of them sound like eternal torment. No joining your family in the Elysian Fields or meeting friends on the distant shore. Just endless torment and lonliness.

The Christian God didn't seem very loving or forgiving, despite what his scripture said.

"We're with you, Argo." Andy says.

	Corey was unsettled as he followed them down the steps. Mephisto was a tricky, grabby bastard, that was for sure. He certainly knew that. But as his powers reached down into the steps, he wasn't expecting quite how....sick it was. The worst depletion and pollution he'd ever felt in soil was nothing compared to this. Argo shared his brother's assessment of the Christian God. In truth, while he recognized that the gods of Olympus could be quite petty and cruel in their own right, what he knew of the other gods suggested they were still probably the best of the lot. But that might be family pride talking.

The stairs continued for some time, but eventually they made it to the bottom, stepping onto barren red rock. Geysers of flame spouted from various spots in the land, and demons peeked out from behind rocks. Here and there, a mortal soul could be seen being tormented by still more demons.

"This whole realm is a truly terrible place," he says, continuing to move forward.

	Argo fought with his bare fists, striking the first demon he came across with a blow that thundered throughout the cavern. There was precious little of his usual restraint. The Son of Hercules was fighting all out. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Andy motions Corey forward. "Get between the two of us, Corey! I'll cover the back!" he yells, readying his sword for the demons to get up and try to purse. As soon as Corey is a good distance ahead, Andy will run to catch up, doing so with little issue. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Corey runs ahead of Andy compliantly, but as Andy ensures they're down and starts running too, Corey'll do his best to get the ground behind him stalagmiting up to make being eventually followed more difficult. "Don't want them getting all Battle-of-Cannae on us," he mutters breathlessly as he tries to keep up with Argo. Fighting and military tactics would never, ever be Corey's strong suit, but there was some really really good Nova Roman art about the Battle of Cannae.

	"Wait...you mean you asked for passage to get here...but not /how/ to find your girlfriend?" Andy asks, a little shocked. Granted, it wasn't the first thing a grieving lover thought of, but this was going to make things tough. Unless... "Argo, I've got an idea! Argo had somehow assumed it would be easier. He was an uncomplicated god that way, assuming there were direct answers to all questions.

Fortunately, his brother is smarter than he is. Andy has always been the more clever of the two and Argo is quite appreciative of it.

He reached out and grabbed a demon by the scruff of its neck. It kicked and swung its claws menacingly, but Argo was holding him at arm's length, and his arms were longer than the demon's.

"Tell me, demon," he growled, "how would you like to be the ones to bring us before your master?"

	Argo was quite clever when it came to seducing women and could even be counted on, now and then, to come up with a clever battle strategy, but it had always been clear to him that his brother was smarter than he.
