Regrouping and making battle plans
The timely save by the Anti-Registration forces brought the Exiles to the group's secret headquarters. The rescued heroes were brought back and offered medical aid, food and a chance to rest away from the pro-registration forces. The Exiles explained who they were and what their mission was and were invited to stay for as long as they wanted.

A few hours later more rescued heroes were brought back and this time it was the six Avengers. They entered the secret underground base and escorted to the area where they could get cleaned up and get medical treatment for their wounds. They would get the chance to meet everyone when they were done and came out to the main area with everyone else.

Sarah nods, explaining the registration, the death of Thor, and the conflict that arose, along with Cap's recent surrender after leading this group for a time.

"The so-called Avengers may have Tony Stark, but they're led by Norman Osborn... usually the Green Goblin. I also would recognize Venom anywhere after fighting him twice. Ares is a problem, obviously, especially with no version of your father here. I'm still trying to figure out Sentry though. Kev says he knows of him... he's just so.... powerful. Usually, I can out-skill people like that and be fine. He's too fast, too strong. Like fighting the Hulk at his worst."

Svalin was saddened to hear about the death of Thor. It was a natural reaction. The small comfort she had was that she knew it wasn't her father.

"It ist most disconcerting to hear these things," she said. "If all that they have art these few Avengers there ist still hope. Individually we may not be as powerful or as strong, but there art more of us. I doth wonder what Kang's role in this conflict ist."

"Unfortunately, its not all they have. Its the tip of the iceberg, but a very potent tip. They have the 50 state initiative - registered, government run heroes and "heroes" in every state. The Avengers. Plus the people you fought. They also have the law, and S.H.I.E.L.D. on their side. These people are badly outgunned and outnumbered, and just lost their leader. If Kang is also involved, maybe having something to do with the people you fought, its really bad news for people who have a lot of bad news already."

Svalin thought about what Sarah said for a few moments. Her mind was already analyzing the situation and trying to devise a plan.

"An all out war cannot be won if they art as many as you say," she said. "They art trying to fight too many in too many places with no clear leader. Strategic attacks art the only solution or all wilt be lost."

Sarah nods, considering. "Strategic attacks, leadership, but most of all, hope. Right now they're just surviving. Something needs to happen to stop the fear mongering and give people hope."

Sarah frowns. "I've considered that. I want to... I've led a group in a situation much like this one in guerilla warfare. But after Cap surrendered, I'm not sure leadership that could disappear at any time is what they need. We're keeping the hammer and shield under wraps from most of them, for now. Besides, it only makes it worse if their 'symbol of leadership' gets beaten down by the Sentry again. Ares is bad enough... but you might be able to hold him for a while. We need to negate their power edge somehow though."

Svalin shook her head. "Nay. Thou art the only one who can lead them, Sarah Rogers. Thou carry symbols of hope that people wilt follow. All thou hath to do is step forward and when thou doth step forward, the Exiles, Avengers and the Avengers from this world wilt be at your back."

Sarah sighs and nods. "That's exactly the problem - you're right. I keep trying to find alternatives, and keep coming back to the same conclusion. Only problem is, if I just get my ass handed to me by the Sentry again, then those symbols of hope get beat down in front of everyone, and it makes things worse. We need to figure something out to deal with him - and I need help. Have you told people yet that you're the daughter of Thor?"

"That might help as well. No one is quite sure where it is, but there's rumors people have seen Mjolnir. Someone else wielding a god's weapon could make a lot of difference. We should start planning and see if we can come up with something to counter some of the enemy's big guns."

"It may. Still, having a daughter of Thor involved may help as well. Certainly it might help counter some of the concern about Ares on the other side. I'll see what I can come up with."

Sarah nods. "I know they don't have many resources here. If I'm going to lay down and rest, and you want to do the legwork, I could use whatever tactical reports they have so I can review from here. I'm familiar with some of them, but I need everything they have on Sentry. Same thing with the capabilities of Osborn's armor, and anything you can give me on the people who attacked you. We're outgunned, and badly. If we're going to do this we nee...well, I don't need to tell you. You've led troops against long odds."

"Thanks. You've done the command thing before as well. I'd appreciate your help in reviewing it, and seeing what we can come up with to even the odds some. You also know him best - what are your chances of being able to counteract Ares, at least for a while, on your own?"

"I wilt occupy him as long as necessary," Svalin said. It wasn't a choice or an option. It had to be done, even if it meant laying down her life in the process.

She nods. She's known Thor long enough and well enough to know precisely what was said there.

"Ares is yours to deal with. When you've had a chance to talk to your team, hopefully we can get more information on the people who attacked all of you as well."

"We wilt get as much information as we can before we make plans." Svalin knew Vernique and possibly Ryan had some Migard recording devices with them. She hoped they had images from the battle. "We wilt prevail," Svalin said and offered a hand.

Sarah extends her own hand in turn, then relents and lays back. It lasts only a few moments though before she reaches under the bed, and withdraws the shield from the artist's bag. She studies it a moment, then sets to cleaning and polishing it.

If she was going to do this, be a leader, be a symbol for these people, she was going to do it right.

Svalin was quiet for a moment as she pondered something over in her brain. She was hesitant to even bring this up since she had no real control over it and she couldn't guarantee it would work.

"Wouldst thou permit me to try to heal your injuries?" she asked. "I doth not have much control over it, but it may work."

Sarah perks an eyebrow.
"Even if it doesn't, there's no harm in trying. I need to get back on my feet and get to work."
Time as an Avenger is one thing. There's time to rest between missions. A chance to heal. They can slow down to avoid burnout.
As an Exile? and before that, fighting a guerilla war? She had to get back on her feet again and again and be the team heavy. She appreciated the worlds where they got to rest, but those were few and far between. Being an Avenger was a luxury by comparison, and its been long enough, back on Exiles road, that she's thinking like an Exile again - and its a struggle to think why she wouldn't let someone try and heal her.

Svalin nodded and gently put her hands on Sarah's arms. She waited and wished she knew how this worked. There were times in the past when she had healed others, but she never learned how she did it or how to do it when she wanted to.

This time it worked. She could feel the slight traces of magical energies around her.
