A Job Well Done
It had been a long two weeks in New York, but in the end they had managed to get quite a few recruits for the new shows. Now that they were just about done here in New York, they'd be heading off to Los Angeles. There were always people looking to be the next big star in that town and recruiting should be easier.

The screening process was slow because the boss didn't want just anyone in the shows. He wanted people that would deliver action and most importantly ratings. Not your everyday ordinary Joe Schmoo off the street would do. The boss wanted people with charisma, or ones who could provide a lot of action. Mutants were great for the latter and they couldn't just come out and ask people if they were mutants. There was a battery of very specific questions and then a small "screen test" to see what they could do.

So far the boss had been pleased with the ones that had been found and sent back.

They had two more days here in New York and then it was off to Hollywood where the pickings would be better and easier. Sweepzweak couldn't wait to get to Hollywood where sun and beautiful women awaited.

Back at the main area, now somewhat under control due to a swarm of x-babies and the X-Men already present, Lucas has rejoined his body, and found a spot to sit cross legged, sitting quietly in meditation amidst the chaos.

"As soon as they get back... I need that sword, and we'll hope it has enough residual magic for me to work with. Everyone who wants to go to Earth, get close."

Cait doesn't leave Corey's side. She's still wearing the collar and is powerless. She knew she could count on her brother to protect her if needed.

Lucas takes the sword and focuses. "I think this will work, but its going to be a rough ride." Especially on him. This isn't his kind of magic. He doesn't mention that bit though.
"Everyone move in close. I don't want to leave anyone behind."

Misha caught one of their students up in his arms when it looked like she was going to collapse and carried her toward Lucas. He set her down with the others and made a quick sweep around to be sure they left no one who wanted to leave behind. Then he joined the group.

He couldn't wait to tell somebody about seeing Mini-Dad.

As soon as he's sure everyone is there, Lucas completes the spell, drawing on the spirits of this place, such as they are, and the enchantments on the sword. True to the nature of the place and its spirits, the travel takes the form of a Stargate opening - which would be kinder and more of a spectacle to be appreciated or amused at if it hadn't opened directly under them.

The spell desposits everyone about six inches off the ground back at the school. Enough to be jarring, not enough to do any real harm. Lucas manages to keep concentration long enough to close the rift behind them, then collapses.

And a full checkup from Doctors Cookie-monster and Reyes. She overdid the shifting. Probably going to get an earful from Dad about that.

She manages a smirk to Corey, however. "Told you we'd get her back, sand-wich. Nothing to it."
