Happy Birthday Marrina
Alex wasn't exactly the brightest bulb in the box, but he knew enough to remember birthdays. Marrina's was the next one to come up and Alex was at quite a loss of what to get her. He thought about it for quite awhile, but still couldn't come up with anything to get her.

He went with a gift card and a note for a promise for a swim or a flight anywhere she wanted. He left the items on her bed along with a birthday card.

Jordan, on the other hand, has no problem with gifts for Marrina, but he also has the resources. Plane tickets for her and Mason to New York, dinner at a four star restaurant and their choice of one or two high class hotel rooms for a weekend.

Mason had been racking his brain, but after careful consultation with Jordie and Mel, he'd come up with something. Marrina would find a new dvd storage tower in her room, packed full and with a giant red ribbon tied around it. It was loaded with movies that Mason liked, or could at least tolerate, and that had been deemed girlfriend-acceptable by his consults.

After a lot of research and even more failed attempts, he'd managed to make a pair of earrings and a broach that mixed modern North American and traditional Atlantean styles.

Finally, Leafs tickets, a jersey for her to wear, and all the junk food she could desire.

"Mom, I need a recipe -- no, don't put Dad on the phone, he can't help me. I want to bake Marrina some something home-cookingish. No, of course I don't expect you to know anyone with Atlantean recipes, but...you know some Newfies..."

And so,Marrina will have a blueberry grunt cake and a screech pie for her birthday.

Mac sends her a little transcription of classic Atlantean stories and children's riddles. 'To Catch you up on bad kindergarten jokes,' the note says.
