Putting Things Into Motion
Mikel Fury had decided that it was about time to implement his plans for his father. His sister, willingly or unwillingly, would be key to those plans. The past few months' worth of work were coming to a head and this moment.

He sent a text to his sister and asked her to meet him at Brasil Coffee House on Lexington Ave. It was quiet and not busy at this time of the day. It would be perfect for what he had in mind.

Mikel sat a small table with Virgo and waited for his sister. Not far from them, Gemini, Grigory Genovese, and Leo sat drinking a cup of coffee. It always paid to have backup.

Sammy gave the place the once over when she stepped inside. She smiled when she saw Mikel and Therese. Big Brother was making good on his word about seeing her whenever he was in town. She wondered if he'd always been in and of New York so much over the years. If somebody had just given a little, they might've been friends long before now.

She held up a 'just a second' hand as she moved to the front counter to order a coffee. As she waited, she saw the guy who always showed up at her regular coffee place. What would've been a "hrm...weird" moment passed quickly enough. It was odd, but she did have her own way of getting out of odd situations. Anyway, it could just be a coincidence. He had a friend. Maybe it was a boyfriend.

She carried her coffee over to sit opposite Mikel and dropped her backpack to the floor with a distinct 'thunk' that indicated she was most definitely armed. "Hi. Hope you didn't have to wait long."

	Before he could answer his phone beeped. Mikel opened it and looked at the display. Little sister did have a secret. A big one. This could make things a lot more interesting. "Working for me. Joining my team." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

She almost laughed. She did chuckle a little. Dad nearly blew a fuse when she joked about a career as an assassin. Mercenary wouldn't be a whole lot better to the King of S.H.I.E.L.D. Although, maybe Mikel was talking about detail work, like Therese said she did. Still not what she wanted. The Young Avengers just skirted the sanctioned line on the Avengers' coattails and that might someday end up on her application for the Academy.

"You get points for making the effort to get to know me. I appreciate it, more than you know. And the offer. You think it's funny, but I really do want the directorship one day. The best thing for me right now is to stay where I am and out of the wrong kind of trouble."

"I'm sure. You've seen me drink coffee and eat dinner. Granted, I'm really good at those things but I wouldn't add anything to your team that you don't already have in spades."

She smiled at him and tried to make a joke. "Plausible deniability. 'Yes Officer, Mikel Fury is my brother. No, I'm not sure what he does for a living.' I'm just glad you're not a stranger anymore."

	So it was going to be the hard way. Of course it was. She was a Fury. Furys never ever did things the easy way. "I know what the old man and the Countess would have taught you." "It was all Dad had handy that he wouldn't mind a few marks on. Not like he could put the president on hold until he found a teething ring for me."

She gave Therese a glance as she tried to say the words without giving too much away. "You don't need to offer me a job, Mikel. Let's catch a game sometime, or go play paintball. Maybe we could take a weekend this winter and meet somewhere for skiing. You know, brother sister stuff."

	His expression gave her a sinking feeling. Of course, she couldn't have a brother who'd actually be interested in being a brother. Mercenary, remember? No profit in a kid sister's stupid daydreams. 	Therese reached out and touched one of Sammy's hands. She activated her powers and mindwiped Mikel's sister's mind. It was quick and dirty, but it would disorient her enough to allow Therese to do what Mikel wanted done. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The wave of dizziness caught Sammy as she tried to stand up. She sat down hard in her seat and tried to shake her head and clear it. She lifted a hand to her face to rub her forehead and frowned when she saw Therese touching her. Were they out shopping and she got sick? Because she didn't have any recollection of them coming here.
