Kansas City here I come. (Force Works)
It hadn't been intentional but Jensen had arrived in Cowtown ahead of the rest of the group, a few days luxury that permitted her to get sorted out in their surroundings.  They had acquired the Western Auto building, the rental lofts converted and redone until the building was more than suitable for their purposes.  She didn't want to know how much money that acquisition had cost, as it appeared that the building was something of a landmark and desired loft space, but she was glad they had it.  It was a good location and, with serious next generation internet capabilities being brought to the twin KCs, everything was perfect.

Especially the food. She'd found a nearby Gates BBQ and that's what anyone who had shown up would smell as she hauled in bags of delicious meaty goodness.  She was going to make sure they had a classic Kansas City lunch.

Didn't want to come off as noobs.

Justin spent most of the day at the office, making sure that the labs and his office were set up and wired properly. He had to make sure that the servers he needed for Renaissance Tech, Cambire (the front company for Force Works) and Stark Industries were functioning.

Only when he was certain everything was good did he finally head home. He liked the apartments they managed to get and he had to admit that Kansas City wasn't as desolate as he thought. His nose drew him to the kitchen where he found Hannah.

"Hey, what's in the bag?" he asks.

"Barbecue. I didn't know what to get exactly so I got everything. I think that bag over there is all beef."

As the only non-genius attached to the team, and the youngest, Toni was left with a little bit less to do than the rest of them. But she'd been up early anyway, to discharge the energy she'd built up over night.

The armbands continued working, at least. She even had smaller, non-combat versions now.

But she was seriously going to need to find something to do with her non-hero time. Maybe she was far enough from home and the schools there that starting college was an option, without the stigma that had come from being an outed mutant.

Cooking smells, however, drew her out.

"Hey gang,"

Harvey had been out in the city for most of the day. He had just been checking things out around the place to get a feel for it. And when he got back to the base, he smelled something good.

He went to check things out.

"Hello everybody," he greeted.

Justin looks up and smiles at his brother and sister. He found it funny that Hannah was the only person in the room that the three of them weren't related to.

"Hannah took the liberty of grabbing Gates Barbecue for everyone. Dig in." Justin says, getting a beef brisket sandwich and a heap of fries.

"It's just right down the street a bit. They don't deliver, unfortunately." Jensen continued laying things out on the counter, filing away the information that Justin had neglected to tell his girlfriend about his good fortune. She found that odd. She also noted Toni's new bands, and that Harvey...well. She still wasn't good with him having talked about her to anyone.

"I may have gotten too much, but I was excited."

"Thanks, Hannah," Harvey said. He tried not to look at her too long. There was still tension between them, and not the good kind. He'd spilled the beans about her secret to Tony Stark, and she wasn't going to let him forget about it.

Needless to say, he was a little cautious about taking any of the food. Not that he thought she did anything to it, but because it was just awkward.

"I grabbed a bite to eat before I got back, though."

"Hey, I'm a growing boy with a perfectly functioning heart, finally. I'm not going to eat /everything/...just most of it." Justin says between bites.

It's very clear that Justin is enjoying his food, even as he's eating neatly. His eyes roll back a bit as he savors each bite.

Toni's smile was a small one, but present. If forced to admit it, the prospect of every day possibly being the one in which her powers finally killed her was a daunting one. She had to make herself not think about it.

"Smells great," she admitted.

Jensen noted the slight shift in energy levels in the room, but they were negligible. This was good, though she knew she had to sit down with Toni at some point and explain that she was subconsciously registering energy levels for her every so many hours much like one might take their blood sugar, to track for patterns.

She was mostly computer; it sort of was just what she did.

"Eat as much as you like so long as you leave some for Harvey." Her eyes glanced over at him. "I wouldn't want him to starve though I doubt that will happen. There are some really interesting food options nearby.

"I presume none of us cook...."

Toni had garnered an awkward look from Harvey about the cereal, but he figured he'd just let it go.

"I can cook," Harvey said. he had to learn to cook while he was in this world and living on his own. Nobody was there to cook for him and he wasn't making enough money at the time to just buy a easily prepared or fast food.

"Good, then. I can cook, but I don't do it often. It's nice to know that we won't be entirely without food that doesn't come from a take out place."

Jensen smiled a bit. She didn't really eat much anymore, which was sad to her. Her body still required nutrients, but most of her energy came from battery. She didn't really like telling people that, though she suspected Harvey probably already knew. There was that port under her arm...

"We've got a very nice setup here."

"Well, this building was really conducive to doubling as an office and homebase for us. We've got a lot to work with here and, best of all, we've all got jobs." Justin tells the group.

"Not only that...but we're about to have a big-time breakthrough that's going to make us a ton of money in a short amount of time." he says.

"I can't talk about it just yet, but wait until the end of the month. With some help, I've got our first big invention out of the gate. It's really going to change the world for a lot of people." Justin tells them, taking another bite of his sandwich.

For a very brief moment, Toni frowned. She really did not like being the dumbest person in the room. Fortunately, she was able to hide that frown behind taking a drink.

"I'm not against making stuff better," Toni said, when she was done, "but just make sure you aren't putting people out of jobs in the process of doing it."
