The sun was starting to sink on the Western horizon and into the Pacific Ocean as another day was ending. A few miles south of 1800 Palos Verdes Drive the ground erupted in a spray of dirt. One by one soldiers came forth from the ground. Some were Spartans, some were Roman legionnaires, and some were Norsemen. A total of three thousand eventually stood in the dying light. They moved into formation and started marching.

	It's midnight. The house is quiet. Silent. Abruptly, a phone loudly begins ringing on the bedside table of every adult in the headquarters.... even if they didn't normally keep a phone there. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	At midnight, Marlow isn't in bed or in the main house. She's outside where the demon hordes disappeared, walking the grounds while she discussed it with the voice. Something is still bothering her head about it. She didn't mention it to the others; they weren't interested in what a mere mortal might think about things. So she didn't hear a phone ring. 	Halbjorn's glowingly good mood faded a couple hours past the fight when there was no more adrenaline rush, no more risk - just his guts more or less stapled in place and his right side braced and bandaged. To say he's in no mood for the phone is an understatement. The phone, and the table under it are smashed without any effort to answer. (Reply to this)(Parent)
