What have I become?
It wasn't hard to find the reef Kassi had spoken of. It was harder to make herself come. Even though Kassi had offered her help unselfishly, pre-guilt over what might happen to her sister wracked Marrina. What if she hurt her? Or worse? When her body and mind raged so much out of control as they had been, it was impossible to say what she might do.

Marrina took a deep breath as she bobbed in the water. It would be so easy to just run away from it all. From Namor and Mac and Kassi, and... Mason and... and maybe not so easy.

But she knew what her mother had become. Knew that she'd had to be put down. She wouldn't, couldn't do that to her friends and family.

	Namor was resting when the scream came and he sat bolt upright in bed, knowing his daughter's mental scream anywhere. He rises and grabs his trident, and tells his page to find Lady Namorita and let her know that she is in charge until he returns. Then he swims off in the direction Kassia's voice is coming from at top speed. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

The thought-scream rocked the Master back, and elsewhere in the ship, the howls of the Plodex could be heard.

The blog itself was changing more rapidly, Marrina responding to her sister's distress. Limbs solidified, resuming the same general shape as before. But where once there had been feathery wings... now flapped small fins.

As her form finally reasserted itself... it was like a butterfly stepping forth from its cocoon. She was not as she was.

Fear was a powerful drug, one that could charge a person past their weakest point. Though Kassi was mostly dehydrated and weak the revelation of the blades gave her such fear that adrenaline shot through her whole body. She was able to jerk away from the blades, pulling her knees to her chest at the last second. The Master's torture device did manage to slice into her skin, though, gashing open her leg from just above her ankle to her knee.

Kassi screamed again.

Marrina's eyes, still their dark, unnatural color, the most recognizable thing about her, locked on Kassi's imprisonment. With the rocking of the ship, it provided the perfect moment for her to strike on her own.

The blow was harder than she had ever hit before. The "glass" began to crack. "Leave her alone!"

Meanwhile, the side began to give under Mac's attack. And the Master was panicked. "Blast! What was that...? How did you..."

Namor is not far behind MacKenzie, making is own hole in the side of the ship.

"KASSIA?! WHERE ARE YOU?!" Namor calls out. He doesn't care if he's just announced himself to the whole ship.

The first people to come at him are going to be the luckiest. He'll kill them without making them suffer. It's the person who has hurt his daughter that is going to suffer her pain tenfold.

	"MARRINA!" Kassi was so excited to hear her sister's voice. It meant she'd regained control but more than that, it meant she was okay. When she heard her father, she was almost ecstatic. "DAD! Marrina hit the glass again, and this time spider-web cracks appeared in it. When had she ever been this strong? Even fully hydrated... she shouldn't be feeling this powerful.

And what had happened to her? She looked... she looked much more like her birthmother now, but with her own variants as well. Would she... change back? Or...?

The Master snarled, issuing commands to the creatures. "Stop them!"

The remaining Plodex creatures, instead, turned to flee themselves, heading out of the ship. Master of them he may have been... but even he could not compel them to fight someone as dangerous as Namor, even if they did not know he was also their father.

"Traitors! Foul beasts!" The Master snarled again. And icy cold terror gripped his heart as he knew Namor was drawing near.

	Mac slams through the ship alongside Namor. Not much in the way of crew, but there are these... creatures. He grapples with one that's trying to escape. Then he realizes he recognizes them from being on the beat with his dad. "Plodex. Majesty, they're PLODEX!" (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Plodex? These creatures are Plodex?

Unbidden, the memory of his wife Marrina comes to him as he remembers their wedding day, and the day she died. He remembers how she died best and worst of all and the idea that someone has used her people, her children and his own, fills Namor with a rage unlike any he's known before.

"Mackenzie! Help your cousins!" Namor commands, seeking the one responsible for this. He will tear this place apart if he must.

Some water, bloody though it was, started trickling in the cracks Marrina made in the barriers and each drop that hit her skin made Kassia stronger. And she could hear Mac and she could hear her father. It...it might actually be okay. The blades had stopped trying to excise her wings and though she hurt, she got up and started pushing against the breaks in the glass. She wanted OUT.

...and then she picked up her father's thoughts. They were pretty loud and easy to lift.

Plodex. The beasts were their siblings, but more than that, Kassi understood exactly how Marrina's mother died.

"Oh my gods..."

	Namor tore his way through the ship, moving to reach the ship's engine. MacKenzie would get his cousins out; Namor had no doubt of that. But whoever was responsible for this madness would not get away while they were distracted. Namor would see to that. 	The Master was fleeing from Marrina. He had no idea what he had unleashed, what the girl had become, but with his ship under assault and the girl about to get angry, he had made the rather smart decision to head for the escape pod. ...Which brought him right into Namor's path.
