Something happened on the way to Comic Con...
Sammy made good on her promise. She flew out to Arizona to meet Tim and go with him to San Diego. She even allowed him to pick out her costume. What she didn't sign up for was the long drive across the desert to get there. For some weird reason she expected them to fly.

She fell asleep immediately when they left before dawn, only to wake up when she sensed the car wasn't moving any longer. It was hot already when she opened one eye to see where they were. Which was nowhere. All she could see was the highway shimmering in the distance and lots of flat land covered with scrub.

Sitting up, she covered a yawn and shook her head awake. "Are we stopping for breakfast? Is there coffee?"

	She blew a sigh out, ruffling her bangs. "Okay, what do you need to fix it?" she asked reasonably. "Rentals don't usually come with toolboxes. We can always call and have someone pick us up from the San Francisco office." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"I get so used to you being that good that it's a shock when you confess you're not." Sammy stood back from the car with her bottle of water and watched him. 	She located the paperwork from the rental company in the glove box and punched the number into her phone. "Just don't get yourself replaced by an LMD and we'll be fine. Yes, hello. This is Sam Fury..." she turned away as the other end picked up. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

As skimpy as Tim's costume was, hers was becoming more and more stifling in the heat. She'd let him decide what it would be and he'd turned her into the girl from TRON. Except for her face and shoulders, she was covered in black spandex and boots. She did like the boots, but the spandex was making her sweat.

This is what they got for assuming they'd drive into Old Town and go directly to the convention center. Except she really wanted to change into something cooler.

"Timmy, you don't have much there to hide an ID. We don't know how long it'll be. Maybe you should put on a shirt or something so you don't burn too much?"

Sammy returned to his bag to grab a pair of jeans. This counted as taking care of him, right? She was keeping him from getting a major sunburn. Uncle Dum Dum would be happy she was watching out for their Timmy.

"I take exception to the idea that I would steal from my oldest friend. I only borrow stuff you don't need. If you notice, I've never once borrowed your tools."
