Shield Conference (Open to Shield)
Director Fury was calling for an update on various operations. Josh's job was keeping track of developments from various criminal organizations and superhuman threats. As such, he was among those called.

"They mentioned he was planning something at his upcoming prison transfer. Though he didn't tell them what, implying he'd tell them the day before."

Jack listened, rolled his eyes, and gestured politely for the Colonel's attention. "Director, just to clarify, if I end up the one stuck pretending to sell out my integrity, can I at least pretend I'm smarter about it than that?"

"He brought up a good point, Colonel. It seems like a diversion so we don't look any further. Changing his transport date and sending him out unconscious might help."

"We just developed a new bug. If someone gets close enough to Dran they can put it on him. We'd have twenty four seven surveillance."

Aleks had been there for a bit, but has nothing to add. Undercover work is not his forte, or even really a possibility due to the hair and the necessity of ongoing treatments. Still, he takes mental notes as the meeting progresses. Being the team tank against people with experimental new weapons is never any fun.

Lena's been listening carefully, but isn't an agent so doesn't say anything as they discuss missions. She does spend that time trying to recall who Dran was by his file. It's only when she gives up on going by the files she can remember does she recall who Dran was from some story of Josh's. The darn invulnerable guy.

As fascinating as he would be to study, and it would be really be, she already doesn't like the man. More for the fact that it seemed pretty much impossible to get a sample of someone so invulnerable rather than any knowledge of his crimes. Most of which she wasn't aware of. It wasn't her field.

"Weapons testing... and chances of things going wrong. Yeah, I'm in." There's others who are better with the precision and all - but Aleks is about as good as it gets for field testing things that might blow up in your hands. Just in case.

"Well," Josh starts. "There's a Watchdog compound in Texas that the local government hasn't been able to uproot, and they'd prefer less 'costumed' assistance."

Jack smiled. "You all are welcome to the experimental testing. I know I can stop a bullet. I don't always want to know how to handle whatever Tim's cooked up."

"The Watchdog group, how much of a threat are they being considered?" Valini popped up from a once-empty chair. Sorry, long appointment. "I mean are we looking at too-many-guns-not-enough-sense or possibly something more intricate, like a cult following or underground drug an hormone dabbling?"

"They have a lot of guns, but they haven't been gunning down people, thank God," Josh said with relied. "The real threat is our intel suggests that they've gotten their hands on research once used by the Secret Empire to turn humans into dog-like superhumans. The process is most well-known for its use on Robert Baxter, aka Mad Dog."

"Dog-like but they produce poison," she rolls her eyes and mutters. As interesting as their human modification work was...it wasn't exactly all that original or creative. But of course it didn't need to be creative to be successful. None of the attempts to recreate the super-soldier serum were original but people still wanted it done anyway. And SHIELD was no exception. But that stuff was highly classified.

Lena glances briefly at Fury at the mention of the Secret Empire research. She had a feeling that he would both want that research from Watchdog, and have her look over it to add to SHIELD's own programs. But again, those weren't programs he liked many people to know about. Even people in SHIELD.

Mm no Aleksi does stand out in a crowd a bit. "If they have access to those kinds of alterations, and the locals want this cape-free, then the final plan will probably have to include containment, in case one of these 'mad dogs' slips by. On the other hand, instinctive pack dynamics might make capturing easier to handle."

"I should add that these mutations come in two stages. The first are relatively human, save for claws, fangs, and enhanced sense. Think Wolverine-lite. The ones in the more advanced stage..let's just say people might start thinking there are werewolves in town," Josh informed.
