The Costs of Doing Business
After her previous run was ruined, Jean-Louise was relieved to finally be on the Kree border sorting out oatmeal orders. Just one little outpost now, but give her time. She was giving the senior officers a sample of the new milkshake-like beer recipe she'd learned when she found herself looking out the window.

"Because as much as the system might suck some days, it's what we've got, and the only way to give it any value is to put some into it yourself." He raises one hand open, setting down his gun, then raising the other empty hand.

"What. Do. You. Want?"

He opens his mind, just a little, letting his emotions brush against her. He's playing straight with her, but he's ready to meet violence with violence if he has to. There's awareness of where her comrades and his own are, watching the situation volley back and forth.

	Love those Celestial Messiah* reflexes. Alex swings out of the way, parrying one of the blades with the barrel gun that leaped back into his hand. 	It's close, but he manages to dodge back, just enough that he's only grazed. That would have busted his kneecap if it connected with force. His brow furrows, before relaxing. Alex goes still. It's not the stillness of a normal human. It's like a statue, or a tree just barely swaying in the wind.

He looks back to his opponent, and holsters his weapon again. "And the Cotati yet live in peace with the Kree. Those Kree who accepted this were enriched by the experience.

His coloring shifts closer to normal, briefly.

"So why don't we skip the bullshit and talk to whoever's really in charge? My people and your people all come to the table like adults, and I get Ronan or somebody on the horn to unfuck this situation."

The green comes back.
