"Manny? Kelly?" Bea asked over the comms. "Could you meet me in the den?"

And they'll arrive on the pacific island of Providence on a bright, clear day, amidst a combination of gardens and extremely bizarre solar-paneled generators.

"Kelly..."

There'll be other people in the distance, but three will come to meet them. The white-haired, cyborg-looking fellow will be easy to place. The woman and boy even paler than Bea and Kelly, each with shoulder-length black hair and black spots tattooed over their left eyes, won't exactly be difficult either.

"Mom, Dad, Uncle Laz, this is my boyfriend, Manny Rodriguez. Manny, these are my parents, Nathan Dayspring and Domino, and my Uncle Lazarus. Mom, you know Kelly. Kelly, Dad and Uncle Laz."

	On seeing others coming, Cable especially, Kelly immediately opens with, "Manny, duck! Look out!" Pause, glance to Bea. 	"Que!?" Manny forgets for a moment that this was Kelly and immediately goes to cover Bea, back out so any attack would hit his shell first. And he'll blink a few times when he realizes it was a joke. He'll turn as red as he's capable. He'll awkwardly move away from Bea, give a small cough, and trying to regain his composure. Bea sighs a lot. "Couldn't pick which opening, huh?" she asks her sister. She tries to smile reassuringly at Manny.
Cable, one eye flickering, mostly seems to have ignored all this and shakes Manny's hand firmly, smiling slightly crookedly. "Good to finally meet you. Not bad reflexes there."
Domino just nods, and Lazarus is quick to follow up his brother-in-law with a much smaller, much more delicate hand, though with calluses in certain places.
"I'm Laz," he says with innocent earnestness. "Nice to meet you. Looks like you really like Bea, and it's always interesting to have someone at family dinner that my powers would actually work on."

Bea glares at her chuckling parents a bit before Domino stops and makes an attempt to say "Lazarus..."

"It was just an observation. You know I wouldn't." Laz then extends a hand to Kelly. "Nice to finally meet you. Bea's said such ... things. Evasive, heavily bowdlerized things."

Kelly grins at Bea. "Why choose just one op... nevermind, too easy." she replies.

She casts a look back towards the greeting party. "Oh yes, I really do like Bea a lot." she agrees, with a sly grin.

She extends a hand in return. "She's been afraid that I might be a bad example. That, or just couldn't manage to describe the things we do together to a minor." The last, technically true, if suggestive in all the wrong senses.

And there it is, after all her calm and reassurance, Bea's twitching. But she still tries to pat Manny delicately -- her hand carefully and automatically avoiding the still healing areas -- on the shoulder. In comparison to Kelly, she's not even thinking to worry about not having told him her Uncle was a secret experiment for the ultimate mind-manipulation operative.

As Lazarus blinks a lot, Cable'll just turn and gesture that the follow as he leads them inside and to the dining room of the Dayspring apartment. "We're having succotash to start with," Nathan says.

	Manny's immediate mental reaction to that is an image of Sylvester the Cat. Then he immediately realizes if Cable sees that, he may think Manny was making fun of him, so he tries to get rid of the image by playing the music video of Cool Guys Don't Look at Explosions in his mind. ..Of course this just means Andy Samberg is replaced by Sylvester as the lead singer. 	"You'll have to tell us all about your powers, Laz. Bea has mentioned a few things, but I'm curious about your offensive capabilities. We deal with a lot of bad people, and I figured you're bound to get into the family business." She's pretty aware what types of powers don't work well on her, Bea or Cable. There's one extra-large, obviously reinforced chair at one end of the table, and another clearly there for Manny, along with four smaller ones. Cable, however, first goes to dish up the food.

Bea opens her mouth to protest, but gives up before saying anything, taking her chair.

"Psi stuff," Laz says. "It's handy, but speaking of offensive capabilities, Dom just got me a De Lisle this year, in case of, y'know, robot emergencies."

"Yes, always good to be prepared for robot emergencies. Mom, could you pass the lemonade pitcher, please? Manny, you want some?"

Manny was a little surprised at the custom-made chair, but quickly felt flattered for being considered. Manny happily took his spot beside Bea. He heard Laz' conversation with Kelly, but had no idea what a De Lisle was. He chose to embarrass himself by asking about it.

"Si, Bea. Gracias." Manny carefully, maybe more carefully than he had to, took the pitcher and poured himself a drink.

"I just have the 11-shot clips. Better than seven, anyway; I'm not as quick with my hands as Bea; I don't have time to put the new ones in all the time. No dragonsbreath. I like the beechwood. Sure, it's harder on accuracy since my powers don't swing to help, but it still feels right. Mind control. I'm pretty good, but it's not something you can rely on."

"Very true," Bea says.

Cable nods as he sits down once everyone has a plate of food. "So, Manny, you used to be in the UCWF?"

Bea's torn between groaning at Kelly and being happy that Manny's calming down. The latter's more important. It's not that she didn't know that Kelly was going to be Kelly.

Laz is going to blink and... try not to think abou the insinuations 'cause Bea's right there and she has a boyfriend which doesn't really .... back to the topics at hand. "Yeah, but outside of the family, for crowd safety stuff and all, very handy. Except for, you know, the whole part with y'know, the labs and the people trying to kill me... but the mumbling comes short with a "Really? Dom, can I?"

"...If you're very careful, and remember it's just for fun and not going to be tactically useful all that often."

"Great, thanks." He grins at Kelly.

"Can't say I have very high hopes about that sort of commercialization of mutant -- Fire hazard, Dom." Cable interrupts himself.
"Nate, he's fifteen. We let Bea use similar materials by that age."
"Fine."

	"You know, you could combine your abilities... use a brief mind control spike to convince a target to hold still for just a second, then BANG! And yeah, Dragonsbreath has limited applications. Nate nods. "It figures. Sorry to hear." He doesn't seem to press further.

Kelly sighs. Laz looks rather taken aback by this train of thought, but just says. "Well, I'll definitely appreciate the help with the dragonsbreath after dessert, thanks."

Dom's been mostly sitting back and just observing this whole thing, but does say. "Dessert, yes. I hope you don't have any food allergies, Manny?"
