Shopping Interrupted
It was, all things considered, a pretty good day. No super-villain attacks, no mad Mandarins, no nothing. Which was why Toni and some of the other Young Avengers had gone into the city for shopping

It was probably too good to last.

"Okay gang," Toni said. "Lunch time is upon us. Suggestions?"

Sammy was carefully looking at windows they passed, but her attempt at a bland expression was failing. She was a little hurt at the implied intimacy. Some notice that things had changed would've been nice. A text message even.

She caught Qamar's glance and gave a brief smile before looking back at the window displays. She could get angry at the stores for not waiting until after Thanksgiving to put up the Christmas decorations. It was safer.

	Huh. She's smiling. She must... be okay with Emily's arm. Which means that... she's... no longer interested in him. Not too surprising, really. The look she got in return clinched the deal for her. She couldn't watch him and Emily. Her pride had taken a few too many hits lately to be okay with it.

She tapped the arm of the person closest to her. "James, I uh... forgot something. You all have a good time." Surely a sixteen year old kid obsessed with video games wouldn't notice she was upset. "I'll see everyone later."

	James wasn't that oblivious most of the time, only when he was playing video games. "I'll go with you," James said. With all that had happened lately he didn't want Sammy going off by herself when she was upset. "I know there's some leftover pot roast from last night. Eliza looks between everyone in the group. Was she missing anything? Probably. But she gave James mental brownie points for offering to go with Sammy. She'll pick him up something on the trip as a sort of thank you for him since he was being more thoughtful about things. He was a good friend for Sammy.

"Okay James. I'll see you latter," she smiles a little at her brother.

	Eliza sniffs the air when the scent of food is in the air. She feels her insides gurgle with hunger and isn't even bothered by it. She was used to getting hungry easily.
