Coming Together
The cold winter wind blew through the streets of New York and over rooftops. The cold and the wind was a sharp contrast to the warm Southern California weather she and Argo just stepped out of. She immediately spotted Nicholas.

"Are you okay?" she asked Argo. "Sometimes people do not react well to teleporting."

"I'm sorry for that, I truly am." he adds to Lyta. "But I think you'll understand when I fill in the blanks. First, I'm Nicholas Salem, aka Ghost Rider, aka Hell's chosen bounty hunter." He rings his hand with hellfire, a small demonstration without fully transforming.

"Except I turned down Mephisto's job offer, and for my trouble, got banished to a hell dimension. I just got back. The demon in my head knows a bit of why they felt they needed a new Rider though... Pluto and Mephisto blew a big score, and they're bitter. But one of Pluto's worshippers got handed a powerful mystical artifact, and they decided to make themselves feel better, they'd use it to try and take a whole lot of souls. The artifact lets them create exact duplicates of /anyone/ except for those who have been to Pluto's realm and escaped... or their direct descendants."

She finds that this is hard to believe except for the fact she knows exactly what their lives are like because of their parents. At least she knows for a fact Mom, Anya, James, and Misha are safe. "You're safe, and we knew where you were going to be. Gee-Arr doesn't always have the best of reps. The Rider can tell the dupes apart from the real thing - they don't have souls, but the moment I change, Mephisto will be able to track us too, so we're on a tight schedule. Zarathos knows they've already created some duplicates, at least a few villains, possibly heroes, and some high powered politicians... so about half that party was a risk. We also called on all of you because, as children of the Champions, you're somewhat resistant to Pluto's enchantments."

Nick lifts a hand. Somewhere below there's a terrible roar and a flash of fire, and a demon bike comes screaming up the wall towards its master.

His eyes catch fire next. "Now..." he states in his own voice, before the fires begin consuming all but his skull.

He swings one leg over the bike. When he continues, his voice is all gravel and spite. "We hunt. Try and keep up."
