Just because he'd said that word to Charlie didn't mean Draco had to tell his boyfriend everything that went on in his life. Even if the big news of the weekend was Blaise getting punched in face by Charlie Weasley defending Draco's honour which was very satisfying. He met Pansy outside a coffee shop, putting a box of macarons down in front of her as he took a seat.

"Thank you for arranging this," he said. "Even if you felt the need to supervise me. I don't know what mistake you think I'm going to make meeting my estranged half-brother. It's not like I'd fuck him."

Gabriel was seven and sometimes the Malfoys still overwhelmed him. He didn't worry that he'd do something wrong and be sent away for use in potions anymore, not unless Valentine's Uncle Tom was over, and he didn't feel as bad about being given presents by Narcissa when she took him and Valentine and Winter shopping, and he knew Valentine thought of him as a friend and not a pet, but sometimes the things the Malfoys did were just so big. Every year at Christmas, for example, they threw a huge party and they got a tree that filled up the foyer and took the house-elves days to decorate completely. They bought lavish presents for everyone as if spending thousands of galleons on gifts was a perfectly normal thing to do.

Gabriel's first Christmas with the Malfoys, he'd been surprised to get anything. After all, hadn't he been an early Christmas present for Valentine? But Narcissa always made sure he had presents and Gabriel had come to accept that she and Valentine saw him as part of their family now. Narcissa even took Gabriel out to buy special presents for Valentine.

There were floods of people at the manor during Christmas too. Valentine's brother came home, and so did Winter's father and his brother's friends. And then all the guests who came to the parties where Narcissa finally seemed happy, and Valentine's father always came around and surprised Gabriel by being much nicer than he expected someone who made Valentine's mother so sad to be. It was kind of nice, having everyone there. Valentine's grandfather, Abraxas, who was someone very important and seemed very young for a grandfather, was loud and kind and liked to pick him and Valentine up a lot. Draco played with them both and spent a lot of time with Narcissa too. Valentine's Uncle Evan and Lucius and his Uncle Sirius all spent much more time with Narcissa and when she was happy Valentine and Gabriel didn't sleep in her room as often.

There were also special Christmas songs to sing. Gabriel loved singing. He sang lullabies to Winter all the time to get her to go to sleep, but the Christmas songs were extra special because you were only allowed to sing them for a month and then you had to wait a whole year before they came out again. Lucius's birds got special treatment around Christmas too. Narcissa used spells to make their white feathers gleam with hints of gold and silver and they looked even more magnificent than usual, prancing around the grounds and gardens. Gabriel had a special bond with the birds. He always smuggled out breads to feed them around Christmas because it seemed like the right time of year to show them how much he liked them.

But Gabriel's favourite part of Christmas was the topper that went on the huge tree the Malfoys kept in their foyer. A beautiful angel, made of porcelain and glass, dressed in silk and glinting with gold leaf. She had blonde hair and big wings and Gabriel would sit on the landing at the top of the Malfoy's grand staircase, so he was about even with the top of the tree, and gave at it for hours, until Valentine or someone came and got him to do something, and then he'd sneak out and do it again. Gabriel only had vague memories of his mother, but in his mind he thought she looked like the angel. Elegant and lovely and perfect and winged, like an angel. This ethereal creature that was the only thing special enough to symbolize Christmas.

Every year Gabriel looked forward to the angel coming out again because it reminded him of her. He kept the thought to himself, though. It felt like a secret between him and the angel. Everyone else just thought he liked the tree, except for the elves, who knew he sometimes snuck out at night to sit and stare at her too. Usually they just brought him a glass of milk and some biscuits to keep him company.

Gabriel was eating a biscuit, gazing at the angel and wondering if he'd grow wings when he got older as he sat on the landing in the middle of the night, when he heard footsteps behind him and turned to see Valentine standing there. "You should be in bed," he pointed out. "Santa comes tonight."

Lucius was very fond of Valentine, even if his only connection to the boy was that his wife was Valentine's mother. The shock of a new baby being born must have been hard on Valentine's four-year-old system, especially since his father wasn't staying at the manor anymore. He had been planning on waiting until Christmas, but Valentine deserved a treat now and what he was looking for had popped up. It was like a sign.

Lucius set up Valentine's present and then went searching for the three of them. He found Narcissa playing with Valentine in her rooms while Winter slept in a bassinet. Narcissa looked exhausted, and she hadn't done her hair, but Lucius was pretty sure the elves could help with the baby, and even if they couldn't she had a sister and a cousin she could call for help, right? Right. Lucius knocked on the open door and smiled at them both. "I have a present for Valentine," he said.

Narcissa was exhausted and she didn't really see the point of getting dressed and doing her hair and makeup when the only people she saw were Valentine and Winter, so she'd stopped bothering. She did feel a little self-conscious when Lucius showed up, but she pressed down on her embarrassment and raised an eyebrow at him. "Winter is napping. Speak softly," she said. "Valentine and I were working on his letters, but he can take a break to get a present." She gave her son a fond smile. "He's been so good. He deserves one."

It had been weeks and Draco still wasn't use to this new world. Everything was just off, and he wasn't getting memories of what the old him had been like. It was starting to frustrate him. Pansy was still basically the same person, but the history was different, and Draco didn't like being around people who looked at him and expected him to be someone he wasn't. When he talked to Merlin he could see the disappointment in his eyes, even though Merlin was the one who'd fucked and impregnated his mother, and Charlie Weasley's face when he looked at him was currently making Draco skip Care of Magical Creatures.

He looked up at the ceiling of the Slytherin common room and contemplated the possibility of trying to go back again to change things and see what happened. Or maybe he could send someone else back and then he'd at least remember whatever new reality was created. As long as it wasn't really multiple realities. This was making his brain hurt. Draco looked up from sulking at the ceiling and spotted Rex Lestrange. Someone who didn't know him, who he didn't know, who he'd gotten along with in Hogsmede before he'd disappeared with Rider Macnair. Draco got up and moved to sit beside the other boy. Fuck it. "Running away from school for a week sounds like heaven. Did you have fun?"

Merlin was still suspicious of Remus J. Lupin. His next door neighbour. He frowned to himself and then at the door separating their rooms. He tapped his fingers against the book he was reading, then pushed himself up from the bed. He had to check on the other man. Just in case.

He knocked on the door once and then pushed it open, walking into Remus's room.

Rex was used to waking up with Rider. He was used being around Rider. So when he woke up that morning and Rider was wrapped around him, it made him smile. He'd settled into having a lover. Someone to be around him and make him happy a lot of the time. He hadn't expected it, but Rider was really good at being a gay man.

He rolled over from being spooned, nuzzling against Rider's neck as he kissed at his tattoo. "Wake up." He told him, purring and biting at his neck. "We have to go back to school today."

Thoreau hadn't been able to stop thinking about the pill Rooney had given him or the way he'd treated him since it had happened. Which made it sort of difficult to be Pansy's doting boyfriend, but as long as Thoreau held her hand in the halls she didn't seem to mind much. Honestly, she seemed preoccupied with something and since Rooney had decided to drive Thoreau crazy by getting him to agree to have his junk locked up when he was high, Thoreau didn't really mind that she was a bit of an absentee girlfriend.

He waited outside Rooney's last class of the day for him to leave the room, then pushed off the wall and grinned at the other boy. "It's been a week," he said, pointedly. "I thought I'd come find you."

Being Tom Riddle's daughter frequently turned out to be more trouble than it was worth. For one thing, nobody had ever handed her a friendship like Merlin had been handed Draco's. She'd grown up with Merlin telling her that he and Draco didn't want to play with her and been too shy to ask Pansy if maybe she wanted to be friends, even though she knew Merlin wouldn't have minded that. At school, everyone acted afraid. Most Slytherin families tried really hard for boys anyway, and who was she supposed to be friends with, Astoria Greengrass?

She took a deep breath and let it out slowly. Her father respected intelligence and ambition. She was descended from Salazar Slytherin. She could sit down with her father and have a frank conversation about her future. The worst thing he could do was... Well, honestly she didn't want to think about the worst thing he could do because the worst seemed pretty darn worst to her. Ending up married to some dirty old man in Albania or Romania or wherever he was trying to strengthen his hold in Europe. June put on her best dutiful daughter face and knocked on the door to her father's office. Narcissa had had her baby. Everyone had to be in a good mood now, right?

Narcissa wasn't due for another week, so when she started to feel the unpleasant pinch of contractions twinging through her lower abdomen, she'd put it down to Braxton Hicks contractions and tried to ignore them. She rubbed her stomach as she played with Valentine, wincing a little as a particular strong contraction ran through her. If she waited another hour Augustus would be home from work, and delivering the baby, if she got everyone all worked up now, would probably take that long anyway.

Another contraction hit, much closer than she'd been expecting, and Narcissa gasped in pain. Waiting would also slow down the drugs. "V-Val, can you use the Floo for Mummy?" Narcissa asked, closing her eyes and leaning back against the couch. "The baby is coming."

Pyxis was having a really hard time concentrating on what she was doing. Rider had disappeared two days prior and she missed him. Perhaps not the romantic part, but she did miss him. He'd been her best friend. And... She kind of missed sex. Because, not even Luka was touching her. Which was confusing.

She sat in Luka's bed, waiting for him to get back from flying, feeling bored and lonely. Homework wasn't enough to concentrate on. She sighed heavily and fell back against the pillows, letting out a pitiful whine.

"Narcissa keeps Flooing like she thinks I'm going to forget she's having a baby." Lucius sat next to Evan in the staff lounge, snapping his fingers at a house-elf so he'd get his glass of scotch. He needed something to take the edge off after twenty minutes of Narcissa bitching at him about how she had too much sex with her boyfriend and had ended up knocked up again.

He took the scotch from the house-elf when it reappeared with his drink and then wrapped an arm around Evan's shoulders. "You should talk to her next time. She likes you best. She looks like she's about to pop."

Neville had been spending a lot of time trying to figure out if going on a date with Pansy Parkinson was a good idea or not. Probably not, but he wanted to. He liked her. At least his crush wasn't as bad as Regulus's. There was just something about girls with backgrounds drenched in evil, apparently. Maybe they could blame it on being Gryffindors.

He glanced at Regulus as they walked along the outside of the Forbidden Forest, then cleared his throat. "I... saw Pansy Parkinson the other day," he said. "She came down to the pumpkin patch for a bit. We talked." Neville rubbed the back of his neck. "I don't know if you're influencing me to do stupid things or what, but I kind of asked her out."

Draco wasn't looking forward to this, but he felt like he had to do it. Last time he'd tried to talk to Merlin the other boy had claimed he needed to see his father and ran off, but if he cornered Merlin in his -- apparently private -- room, he could force a conversation out of him. He had his occlumency shields up around his mind and both sets of memories as tight as he could get them. Merlin didn't need to know he was from an alternate timeline.

He knocked on the other boy's door and stepped back. If Merlin didn't want to show him memories, that was fine. Draco at least wanted to sort things out so the Dark Lord's son wasn't feeling upset with him. Merlin as an enemy seemed detrimental to Draco's well-being.

Rex took a look around after they were done flooing. His eyes moved over the house his father still owned in Paris and then he turned to Rider, dusting off a bit of his clothes. He smiled at him for a moment, then stepped away and put down the bags he'd been carrying for the both of them, then started a fire in the fireplace.

"My dad won't come here. Even if he does, he won't care." Rex informed Rider. "Do you want something to eat? I can cook for you if you want. I think the elves are probably around if you don't trust my cooking."

Pansy hadn't been able to stop thinking about how everyone around her seemed to be having sex. And her own boyfiend didn't want to touch her like that. He wanted to respect her and while that was noble, it was kind of annoying for her. She was sixteen years old. She thought it was time to lose it already.

But, since there was nothing she could do about it, Pansy was taking a walk to clear her mind. She was walking along the edge of the Forbidden Forest when her heel got caught in one of the pumpkin patch vines, sending her falling down onto her knees hard. She swore, grabbing onto her knee that was now scraped, trying not to cry about it.

Thoreau's head was killing him as he walked down the corridor, towards the hospital wing. Hopefully he'd be able to beg a potion off Pomfrey because if not then he was going to have to spend the next few hours somewhere dark and quiet. He always got headaches when he had to go "train" with Bellatrix. It was always Crucio this and Crucio that, but at least he'd been able to leave without having to ask her or Rodolphus to heal him this time. They always got snippy about it.

Thoreau was so caught up in resenting Bellatrix and thinking about how good it was going to feel when the headache was gone that he didn't notice the boy in front of him before it was too late. Thoreau slammed into his solid, brick wall-like chest, and stumbled back, vision going black for a moment as he grabbed onto the boy's arm.

"Fuck," he said, closing his eyes and bending his knees, sinking down and swallowing back a wave of nausea. Thoreau concentrated on breathing through it so he didn't end up passing out. He looked up at the boy, one of the new Gryffindor twins from Durmstrang. He didn't remember which was which, but the other one was probably around somewhere. They seemed to spend most of their time together. "You're built like a house."

Pyxis hadn't really left her bed in a couple of days. For obvious reasons. It just seemed to be easier to lay in bed and avoid Rider at all costs. She loved him so much and her heart ached every time she thought of him. Even if the both of them had slept with other people, she still wanted to be with him. To love him. He was all that she'd ever known and he was her best friend.

But, she couldn't. Instead, she was going to see Luka. He'd distract her and he wouldn't fuck her if she didn't want to. She crawled into his bed, wearing one of Rider's tshirts, cuddling up to his side. "You're not going to classes today."

Narcissa was about ready to pop. She sat propped up on a couch in her sitting room, drinking green tea with Sirius because she was banned from caffeine until the baby came. She wasn't quite sure who the father of the baby was, but she was pretty sure she'd know what it came out and then she'd chose who she said it belonged to depending on the hair. A brunette was most likely, which was good. Augustus was a great father.

"I can't believe Tom is filling Hogwarts with werewolves. As if Dementors weren't bad enough. Now Greyback's pack is roaming the halls with our children?" She shook her head, touching her stomach. "I hope you've warned Regulus to be extra careful. He's a Gryffindor. They'll be tougher on him. Do you think I should talk to Abraxas? He might be able to talk Tom out of this. As if Dementors weren't bad enough."

Pansy was still on a high from having gone on her date with Thoreau. It had been suck a good date. And Thoreau had been a gentleman. She smiled to herself as she walked up to Draco's dorm and knocked on the door before she stepped inside. She smiled at him and fell onto the bed beside him, holding out the vial.

"I got you these." Pansy replied, singing a bit. "They're especially for you. All our memories together in a bottle. Are you excited?"

Rex was exhausted. He'd spent all day trying to keep up conversation with the twins, who seemed to only talk about Quidditch and their dicks. And sometimes how strong they were. And it was a bit boring, if he was honest. But, now it was time for bed and he couldn't be more happy about it. He closed his eyes and rubbed at his face as he moved across the room half naked, the cold wood of the floor giving him a bit of a chill.

He paused when he saw Rider there, but decided to ignore him, crawling into his own bed. Pulling the covers up to his chin, he let out a sigh, then reached out of the curtains to turn off the lamp.
