Expecting Unexpected
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]inthefreakdom)

Who: Tilly Moore, Travis Pope
When: Saturday, July 11th
Where: BCA 506, and then the hospital
What: Tilly has her baby. Travis is the cutest soon-to-be uncle ever.
Bingo: Best day of my life

It was a little early. Tilly had marked all of her calendars, little check marks for every milestone. The baby's first kick (she nearly squealed in February when she felt her baby move). The first time she craved some weird food (it turned out she had a thing for pickles in peanut butter). The day she picked names (Emmaline for a girl, Gregory for a boy).

She wasn't expecting labor pains for another 6 days. )

Arrival
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]itsallhappening)

Who: Grant and Juliet and her family
Where: The Carter farmhouse
When: Thursday evening
What: Grant arrives to stay with the Carter family
Bingo: Waiting

A quiet, country life was about to be spiced up and it was almost impossible for Juliet to hide her excitement. A young man was scheduled to arrive at her family's farmhouse (any moment now) to help Juliet's father with the family farm for a few months. Juliet's father, Charlie, didn't provide any reason to the rest of the family as to why this man specifically was coming to help them despite their questioning him. It only found curious by the rest of the family when Boone told them he didn't have any farming experience.

No reason truly mattered to Juliet, though, because she only thirsted for a new face to see around the property. Being home schooled and not allowed to leave the farm left Juliet to only spend time with her father, mother, and older brother. Neither of the three really treated Juliet well and she tended to spend a lot of time by herself. Secretly, as she lounged in the sitting room with the rest of her family, she hoped he would share his company with her.

(Narrative) Familiar Face
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]tookawrongturn)

Who: Aquila
When: Saturday, July 4th
Where: Westerveldt and Parrish Law Firm
What: Introducing Aquila, the secret oracle who lives in the basement
Bingo: Waiting

She was used to the basement, so much so that she rarely left (which wasn't really a choice, even if she wanted to paint it that way). It was quite pleasant in spots; many of the apartments down here were well furnished and designed. She made friends with quite a few of the random residents, the others who couldn't live among the humans of this world because of the way they looked. Glamours were ridiculously expensive and while Aquila could certainly afford one to cover her glowing skin with the pay she received from W & P; she preferred the basement and its denizens to the noisy streets of the city above.

Today she wasn't in the mood for company. )

LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]inthefreakdom)

Who: Kylie Mann, Evangeline Rothschild, Jack Swann
When: Saturday, July 4th
Where: Pleasantview Mental Health Facility
What: Kylie admits something, Jack overhears
Bingo: Adverse Reaction

Kylie's fingers were clenched in a fist. Honestly, this had gone on too long. She was sick of this place and all the sneaking around with Jack. She just wanted to leave and she knew the only obstacle was a single admission which could jeopardize everything.

She stormed through the hallway and into the first open office. )

Who: Renee, Erick, and Sonja
What: Renee and Erick fight. Again.
When: Wednesday evening
Bingo: Adverse reaction

"Well she most certainly cannot stay here," Renee roared. "I mean, who the hell do you think you are?" Behind closed doors Renee felt comfortable to speak freely. The bedroom she shared with her husband has been home to countless arguments and fights that, often, never reached a resolution.

Erick, on the other side of the room, fell into an armchair. "Renee, I already told you that my father-"

"Screw your father," Renee interjected, "I could give a damn what he wants for this family, if you can even call it a family at all. Did you really think I'd just greet this little girl with open arms? Accept her as my daughter?" Renee shook her hand at Erick, "you've lost your fucking mind."

Erick put his head in his hands and sighed, "I don't know what I was thinking."

"Your damn right you didn't," she ran a hand through her own hair, "we've already been over this before. We decided we didn't want children and now you pull this?"

(Log) Just Adding to the Mess
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]threes_acrowd)

Who: Arthur and Mindy
Where: Burnham City
When: Tuesday evening
Bingo: Dark Secret

His relationship with two people at once didn't quite sit right with Arthur still. Months have passed since the beginning of their relationship and the idea of it still hadn't felt anymore comfortable. He found it easy for himself to like Henri, he wasn't sure if it was love yet, and the emotional baggage that came along with Henri made him hesitant. Willow, on the other hand, was difficult to get along with and understanding her wild ideas about every little thing was impossible. Behind closed doors, though, Willow will let her walls down and she's a completely different person; full of love, compassion, and articulates her feelings masterfully.

When things are good they are truly wonderful but when the three got into fights, which is often, it makes Arthur's doubts question if their relationship is really going to work. All of this had been only adding pressure to his already busy life of college and insufferable work (to pay for it). Shortly after Arthur had gotten into a relationship with Henri and Willow, he began to attend open group meetings for various illnesses and life struggles.

In the beginning he thought the whole thing was deceitful and sort of wrong but it soom melted away when the meetings began clearing his mind and made him feel some sort of stability in his life. Arthur has no support of a family or any friends he really trusts and found comfort in the people who accepted him so willingly at these meetings and listened to him when he spoke... even if it were all a lie. Plus, he had gotten the idea from a book he'd read so if he ever felt guilty Arthur'd just imagine other people somewhere were doing the very same thing.

LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]inventions)

who: Harrison and (open)
where: Burnham, downtown area.
what: Harrison Brown comes to town.
notes: Uh, hi. It's Kristin. I just got here.

Normally, Harrison avoided cities. He liked towns, or little patches of rural area with tumbleweeds. Those were generally preferred, but something about Burnham had pulled him in. Maybe it was the way it smelled, which was a far sight better than how he probably smelled when he wandered into city limits, following the streets toward the downtown area. The city smelled pretty good. Harrison would know, he had a very good nose.

He looked homeless. Well, technically he was homeless, but he hated to look the part as well. His shoes were worn through, his big toe almost poking out through a hole in the black and white Converse sneakers. He had a plain white t-shirt on, and it was nearly as dirty and damaged as his shoes were. The jeans looked all right - torn knees were still in fashion, right? he hoped so - but his hair was... well, he just looked a mess. He tried not to feel out of place as he walked; people weren't really his strong suit.

(Thread) Wish You Were Here. [Chris / Jimmie] Rated PG-13
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]all_these_fools)

Chris returned home from the library and set his books and pen down on the coffee table. He flopped down into the cushions, breathing a sigh of relief. Between the hours working on his final paper and a trek home in the pouring rain, he was about ready for a nap.

He shifted uncomfortably, something hard poking into his side. He reached down between the cushions and his fingers closed around his cell phone.

Hmm, so that's where it went, he mused.

Flipping the cover open, he noted that there were three missed calls. He checked his call log and saw one was from Anton. He hadn't heard from his friend in ages and thought quickly to call him back. Well, until he saw the other two missed calls had been from Jimmie. A return call to him took priority in his mind and made a mental note to call Anton back later.

Before he had the chance to dial the number, his phone began to ring.

"Hey," he said, pressing the green button to accept the call. It was from Jimmie. "I was just about to call you back."

(Thread) Tuesday Night. [Open to Harper]
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]all_these_fools)

Jon sat alone on the couch in his dark living room listing to the drops ping against the glass panes. Outside the rain was falling against the windows. It's was stronger than a simple drizzle but not quite a down pour. He felt just as miserable as the weather outside. His body ached and his neck was tense.

His laptop was situated at his side, folded shut and left ignored.

Jon wasn't quite sure where Harper had disappeared too and wasn't aware of the location of either of their two dogs. He'd been alone for a couple of hours, he thought. Harper must have gone out but he was gone to long to have the dogs with him. Though maybe he wasn't really gone that long. Jon hadn't a sense of time the past couple of days. He'd been unlike his usual self, so unlike it that he was starting to scare himself. Perhaps the dogs were in the office he thought but not bothering to get up to check. All that mattered to him at that point was that he wasn't being bothered.

He was content in the dark, taking deep breaths, working to calm himself down. He was shaking, body wracked with sobs. Moments earlier had seen him fighting an invisible monster; a war of sorts taking place by the bathroom sink.

Jon had done something he knew was wrong. But they made him do it.

Time to go!
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]katrana)

"Baby!" She called from the bathroom, tossing some last minute items into her suitcase. "What time do we have to be there?"

Cam had made good on his promise to organise a vacation for the pair, and now they each had a week off to spend lazing on a distant beach. Kat was still wary of the modes of transport they'd have to take to get to the beach, but she was looking forward to the time off enough that it wouldn't deter her.

She poked her head out the door to see why he wasn't responding. "Baby?"

BACKDATED (Thread) A Rough Night [Alexander/Benjamin] Rated R
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]all_these_fools)

((ooc: thread takes place early Saturday March 14th, 2009))

Four thirty Saturday morning found Alex stumbling into his apartment after a long night drinking and dancing. It was not a common trend for Alex to choose a dance club as his Friday hang out. After dealing with a rough week at work and some unwise choices made on his part, late that night he had found himself in one of the city’s biggest, trendiest night clubs.

Doped up on anxiety meds, way too much of nearly everything to drink and the possibility of some other mind altering substances people had passed his way (unknown to him), Alex looked and felt a right train wreck by the time he arrived back at his apartment early that morning. (And it was quite the miracle he had managed to find his way home, in mostly one piece).

Some how and somewhere along the way home he'd lost one of his cell phones, a shoe and about forty dollars cash.

As Alex shuffled through the door, making more noise than a large herd of elephants, he turned towards the living room and hunched over, spilling the contents of his stomach all over the hardwood floor.

Stepping over the mess he shook his head.

"Oh god." he grumbled.

In the "Real World" (Rated R)
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]tookawrongturn)

Life had been very strange since that night in June.

Camden and Katrana had left their anniversary dinner wearing the lovely anonymous gifts. Of course they couldn't possibly know that those gifts were designed specifically to send them back in time and prevent them from getting back (at least not right away). This was compounded by the fact that they were traveling between dimensions (a fact that their anonymous gifter was not aware of). That was what trapped them, unstuck in time in another dimension.

Camden and Katrana has always lived in a world of magic, a place where unbelievable things were possible, where they were both capable of working magic. It was a shock of course, finding themselves in an unexpected place. This shock was made worse by the fact that they'd been reversed age. This was a sort of magic Camden could do on his own, but it had somehow transferred to Katrana as well. They were young again (and Camden couldn't seem to adjust his age anymore).

In the eight months that they'd been stuck in Burnham City they had managed to find jobs, get a decent apartment to live in, and adjust to life while hiding their magic. )

More Little Things
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]agent_anarchy)

Elle has decided to leave us. I updated the add all button to remove her character journals if you want.

I'm still plugging away on the character listing (a little bit every night). It's coming along nicely. I believe it's finished, unless y'all are hiding characters from me somewhere.

Also, Joey left an open post to anyone who lives in the apartment building (and maybe others if they wanted to sneak in). The Parrishes are throwing a penthouse party!

Edit: I also made an incomplete tag. This has been helping in other communities to know what's finished and what still needs work. It also helps with navigation. I have the community set so that if you want to add tags for your characters you can. If your character has the same name as another please use the long version of the name, last initial, or a nickname so we can keep things sorted (as in the case of Giselle "Elle" and Elle Mann. Becky uses Giselle and I use Elle); we'll say first come first serve in that regard.

Hopefully this will be the last mod post for awhile.

Who: Renee and Henri Parrish
When: Thursday afternoon
Where: B.C.A. building penthouse
What: Renee and Henri have an uncomfortable conversation

Renee, along with the maids (one that was just recently hired), were setting up decorations for a party Renee was throwing Saturday evening. Henri, looking to talk to Renee, found her in the living room giving orders to the maids.

"A little to the left," she directed, "no, that's making it worse." She, herself, was sitting in one of the many chairs, drinking some sort of alcoholic beverage.

"Uh, Renee," Henri spoke up, stepping into her range of sight, "can we talk for a quick minute?"

"As long as it's quick, I have a lot of work to get done before Saturday night," she replied. Taking a sip of her drink, she turned her attention back to the maids, "neither of you are listening to me," her free hand met with the side of her temple. "Take a break for a few minutes and get it together," she said dismissing them. Looking back to Henri, she shook her head, "I swear I don't know what I'm paying them for."

[Thread] Penthouse Party, Saturday night (posted early)
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]westerveldts)

Everyone in the building had been invited to an "event" in the penthouse, an event Renee had spent many days to plan and set up. She obviously had the money to supply plenty of alcohol and staff to hand out drinks and food to guests, therefore she knew it wouldn't be a drag. Many people had already shown up, to no surprise, as she looked around at the somewhat-familiar faces. Sipping on a glass of champagne, she greeted everyone as she waltzed around the room smoothly in and out of small circles of people.

Fairly certain that her husband was sleeping with her sister, Renee's inspiration for the party (though she refused to call it a "party") came from the need to let go from caring about their marriage any longer. She had fallen out of love with him quite quickly and, though she hasn't told him that she's on to him, was beginning to re-focus on taking care of herself again rather than wasting her time on a marriage that Erick had thrown away a long time ago. Pushing all of that, though, to the back of her mind, Renee was beginning to lose count on how many drinks she'd already had.

Across the room, Renee signaled to the DJ she hired to switch the music; she needed something she could dance to now that her buzz arrived.
