Thor App

2013-07-20 06:46 pm UTC (link)
Character Name:Thor Odinsson
Player: Jeffrey Cook
Email: Chasejyd@Blarg.net
Journal: HammerIsMyWhat

Abilities:
Thor has many centuries of combat experience and training, existing in a martial culture. While especially skilled with the hammer, Mjolnir, he is a swordsman and hand to hand fighter with few peers.
Outside of combat, he has skills and training common to the Gods of Asgard - horseback riding, tactical knowledge, a strong grasp of certain eras of history he's experienced, and so on. Many of these would be considered outdated by modern human standards.

Powers:
Godspeak: Thor can speak the tongue of the gods, allowing him to understand all other languages when spoken to him, and when he speaks, all listeners will hear what he says in an archaic version of their native tongue.

Immortality: While not a true immortal like many deities, Thor is incredibly long lived, and immune to all Earthly disease. Asgardians can survive, and eventually recover from wounds that would kill most creatures, and are resistant to most toxins and poisons of all sorts.

Superhuman Endurance, Toughness and Healing Factor: Thor is even more resilient and enduring than most Asgardians, able to fight at full exertion for days on end without slowing. He can shrug off small caliber firearms without harm, and handle extended slugfests with some of the heaviest hitters among super beings, though such injuries can affect him. When injured, like all Asgardians, he heals quickly, recovering at about four to five times faster than a human, and recovering without scarring, and even healing from organ damage.

Superhuman Strength: Thor is among the strongest individuals in the Marvel Universe, far in excess of class 100.

Superhuman Quickness and Reflex: While not a speedster, Thor is able to move at somewhat greater speeds than the most athletic humans, and has significantly superhuman reflexes.

Superhuman senses: Thor has better vision and hearing than any human, roughly on par with raptors and hunting hounds, respectively. In particular, he has been noted as being exceptionally capable of noting small inconsistencies or problems with illusions, giving him great skill in penetrating them.
He can occasionally detect the presence of other magics, especially those of divine origin, though such things can be hidden from him.

Godly Will: All Asgardians are extremely strong willed, and Thor is one of the most willful and focused among Asgardians, giving him significant protection from both many types of magic and psychic power.

Resistances: Thor is entirely immune to even the cold of deep space, and any intensity of electricity. He has survived near the corona of stars, and deep inside planets.

Mjolnir:
Thor is one of the few able to lift and carry Mjolnir, his personal weapon. Among its powers:
Weather Control
Flight
Returns when Thrown
May only be lifted by those worthy
Absorb all known energies, radiation and magic
Directed mystical or electrical blasts
Dimensional Travel
Time Travel

Character history up until the start of the game:
Thor is an acient being, one of the Gods of Asgard. He had more attachment than most of his kin to Earth, but left with the rest of his pantheon in the 1600's, fading into myth and legend. He very briefly returned to Earth during the 1940's, summoned by an ancient ritual by the Nazis. He fought Captain America and the Invaders, before they convinced him he was fighting for the wrong side. He aided them in defeating the Red Skull and his doomsday weapon, then returned to Asgard.
In recent times, seeking to escape punishment, Loki fled Asgard via the Bifrost, hiding himself on Earth. Thor has taken those who would follow him, and has gone after his brother, who has been working slowly to stir up new mischief and establish a new power base on Earth. They suspect Loki may be attempting to reignite the age of the gods of old - and draw worshipers to himself to increase his power.

Character Name: Matt Murdock/Daredevil
Player: Dylan
Email:
Journal: hero_at_law

Abilities: Skilled attorney, self-taught acrobat and fighter.

Powers: Super-human level senses of hearing, smell, taste, touch, and a "sixth" radar sense.

Character history up until the start of the game:

His mother having passed away when he was barely an infant, Matt Murdock was raised by his father, the washed-up boxer Battlin' Jack Murdock, who made his boy promise he would become something better, something more. Devoting himself to his studies, the boy had few friends, and was subjected to the taunts of the neighborhood children... they called him Daredevil.

But Matt devoted himself to his studies, planning to study law, like his friend, Franklin "Foggy" Nelson. But an accident in his early teenage years changed everything. A blind man stepped in front of a speeding truck, seemingly oblivious to the sounds of it. And Matt made the choice to do the right thing without hesitation and put himself in danger, hurling into the man and knocking him out of the way. The truck swerved, but dislodged a canister of radioactive material that struck Matt in the eyes, blinding him.

When Matt finally awoke in the hospital, it was to a disorienting world of sounds and smells and other sensations, but one that Matt eventually taught himself to make sense of, rededicating himself to his studies.

Out of guilt and wishing the best for his boy, his father got back in the fight game, winning like a tornado. But this winning streak had been manufactured by a criminal called the Fixer, who ordered Jack Murdock to take a dive in his next fight. But that night, Matt was in the audience and Jack Murdock fought and won. He did not last the night. The Fixer ordered his murder and it was quickly carried out.

Murdock burned with the desire for revenge, but lacked the means. Instead, he threw himself into his studies, all the while also secretly training his body to perfection. With Foggy, the two graduated Columbia Law and soon after established a practice in Manhattan.

But Matt still wanted revenge. But he had promised his father he would not fight, would not take the path of violence. Yes. Matt Murdock had promised that. But Daredevil had not. Designing a costume and a weapon for himself, Matt took on the Fixer's mob, intent on bringing the Fixer to justice... but the Fixer suffered the whims of fate and fell in front of a speeding subway train while fleeing Daredevil.

But, as Matt learned, the Fixer was but the tip of the iceberg, a cog in the machinery of a vast criminal empire, ruled by a shadowy and mysterious Kingpin...

The world still needed Daredevil

Abilities: Quick draw, master marksman and archer, skilled hand-to-hand and melee combatant, pilot. Ranger training; sniper ranking. Pianist.

Powers: Sarcasm, relatively hard to kill?

Character history up until the start of the game: Clint headed off to the military once he graduated from high school. After serving in the Army for a number of tours, plenty messy and a few never-occurring, it seemed this was his only viable skill-set. After making a living off pool and darts up and down the West Coast, he found more stable work with a security firm. Jessica Drew

2013-07-20 11:55 pm UTC (link)

Character Name: Jessica Drew / Arachne
Player: Jeffrey Cook
Email: Chasejyd@blarg.net
Journal: Arachnophobia

Abilities:
Jessica has both S.H.I.E.L.D. and HYDRA elite agent and espionage training. This includes investigation, forensic sciences, hand to hand combat, security measures, limited systems hacking and stealth techniques.

Powers:
Superhuman Strength: Jessica can press up to 15 tons.
Superhuman Toughness: While she can still be harmed by human strength attacks and small caliber arms, she is more resilient than the average human.
Superhuman Agility: Jessica has vastly superhuman reflexes, coordination, manual dexterity and raw agility, and is able to dodge bullets or even lasers.
Resistances: Jessica is entirely immune to all known types of radiation. While not immune, she is extremely resistant to all types of toxins, disease and poisons.
Wall-Crawling: Jessica can adhere to solid surfaces and even ceilings through manipulation of her own bio-electricity, able to move along them at roughly normal speeds. Because her powers are based upon electrical bonding to surfaces, not any type of actual adhesion, she is not affected by slipperiness of surfaces, addition of oil, etc. - and through the same means, she can often alter molecular bonds, letting her unstick herself from adhesive substances.
Pheromone Control: Jessica is able to manipulate her production of typical human pheromones. The primary power associated with this is her ability to induce a subtle fear or unease in most people. However, she also often shuts off this production entirely, making herself almost scentless. When doing so, she cannot be tracked by dogs or most superhumans using olfactory means, and will usually not be picked out of a crowd or recognized by scent. However, when focused on her, her lack of scent is as distinctive as any other person's olfactory signature. She could potentially use it for other types of emotional manipulation, but chooses not to.
Superhuman Senses: Jessica's sight, hearing and sense of smell have been enhanced over the human norm, making her difficult to surprise, and aiding her in her investigative efforts.
Flight: Jessica is able to fly at speeds up to roughly 60 mph. Her maneuverability is poor, but she has begun experimenting with limited glider wings attached at the waist and wrists to aid her in maneuvering in flight. Currently, she is best served simply making what are apparent incredible jumps from surface to surface, rather than extended flights.
Venom Blasts: Jessica can harness her own bioelectricity, which her body generates in excess, to create electrical blasts of variable intensity at short ranges.

Character history up until the start of the game:
Jessica Drew was a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, with extensive fieldwork and espionage training. Near the re-emergence of HYDRA in the modern age, Jessica went undercover, becoming one of the only agents to ever successfully infiltrate HYDRA. While there, she received additional training - but was eventually discovered. Rather than simply execute her, HYDRA used her as a test subject for some of their experiments with radiation and human mutation, intending to kill her, regardless. Jessica was the only survivor of the experiments.
Before she could be executed, her final transmission led S.H.I.E.L.D. to the HYDRA base, leading to her rescue. At first, she was constantly fatigued, suffered symptoms of radiation sickness, had episodes of sensory overload, and otherwise evidenced trauma from the ordeal. She was put on indefinite leave, once she was deemed able to survive without constant intense medical care.
In time, she began to not only recover, but developed her powers and abilities. While she did eventually reveal this to S.H.I.E.L.D.' director, she elected to remain on leave, not entirely trusting what a spy organization might do with superhuman agents, and feeling they let her go or tried to send her to a desk job too early.
She has recently gone into business for herself as a freelance security consultant and bodyguard, experimenting with her new abilities. She remains a contact of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s, but only for emergency situations.

Character Name: Calvin Rankin / Mimic
Player: Jeffrey Cook
Email: Chasejyd@blarg.net
Journal: OneMan5ManBand

Abilities:
While not very educated, Calvin has more intelligence than he's ever gotten credit for. He picks up on new ideas and concepts quickly, and has a very short learning curve in most situations.
This talent is fortunate, as until recently, he was the child of an abusive alcoholic who continually belittled him. He was a school dropout, drank too much, and otherwise had little chance to develop any particularly useful life skills.

Powers:
Mimicry: Calvin can, temporarily, mimic the powers of up to 5 mutants or mutated beings. Over long term exposure to those people, such mimicry can become permanent abilities, at least until he willingly gives them up or has his powers neutralized.
While potent, Calvin also picks up the weaknesses associated directly with the powers themselves. If a mutant's fire form is vulnerable to water or fire retardant substances, or a shifter is allergic to wolvesbane or silver, Calvin would be as well while copying their abilities.
Owing to not having grown into the physiological adaptions many mutants have to their powers, and comparatively less experience, he will almost never have the degree of fine control or finesse most people who have a power innately will have over their abilities.
Calvin can only copy the abilities of mutants or those changed by outside sources. He cannot copy powers gained via technology, such as cybernetics, nor innate abilities such as an Atlantean's water breathing or the strength of a God.
Calvin doesn't know it yet, but he has an allergy to gamma radiation. If he has not currently got five powersets locked in when exposed to beings who have gained powers via gamma exposure, he will grow extremely ill while his powers attempt to assimilate those abilities whether he wishes them to or not. He has not demonstrated any other particular quirks where radiation is concerned, and can duplicate the abilities of most others who use powers gained from radiation exposure.

Character history up until the start of the game:
Calvin's father was an abusive alcoholic. He used his son as a scapegoat for his inventions never working, and constantly belittled Calvin's efforts at everything. Calvin responded by becoming a classic bad kid, sneaking beer, some petty theft, carjacking, vandalism, etc., and never paid school much attention. Despite this, or perhaps because his records came to their attention, he's gotten some attention from one or two special academies. He rejected these efforts, and fell in more fully with a bad crowd. One of whom turned out to be a minor mutant... and Calvin discovered his abilities.
He started looking for other mutants, intending to gain more power, and learn what he could do. Despite the newfound power, he was still arrested and jailed. He was stewing there, when an unknown benefactor bailed him out... (with details yet to be determined.)

Character history up until the start of the game:
Natalia Romanova, known to most as Natasha Romanoff, is rumored to be a relative of the Romanoffs, the last ruling czars if Russia, but nothing else is known of her family. During World War II, a Nazi assault upon Stalingrad set the building she was in on fire. A woman, possibly her mother, threw her into the arms of a Russian soldier named Ivan Petrovich before being consumed by the flames.

Ivan brought Natasha under his protection and soon had to defend her from her many enemies. In 1941, Natasha was sought by the Nazi Baron Srtucker, who presented her to the Hand to become their master assassin. She was saved from Strucker and the Hand by Ivan, the American super hero Captain America, and the Canadian adventurer Logan.

Under Ivan’s care, Natasha grew to pursue her goal of becoming a ballet dancer and studied under Oksana Bolishinko, a famous Bolshoi instructor. She fell in love with a Soviet test pilot named Alexi Shostakov but was grief stricken when he apparently died testing an experimental rocket. Natasha decided that she would honor Alex’s memory by becoming an intelligence operative, not realizing that this was what the KGB had hoped would happen when they informed her of Alexi’s death. She was instructed by the KGB in the infamous Red Room Academy and under their training, she became their most skilled operative, a superb fighter and information gatherer. The KGB gave her the name of “Black Widow” and quickly sent her into the field.

When Logan resurfaced in America, now bereft of his memory, Natasha set out as the Black Widow to save him from a team of Hydra assassins. She soon encountered Logan again when he stole the Red Storm Project from Russia. Natasha pursued him but was ordered off by her superiors.

Natasha was assigned a deep cover mission to the United States posing as an executive assistant at Stark Industries. She has been working there for five years now. Her mission is to steal tech and send it back to Russia.

Character Name: Logan aka Wolverine
Player: Kerri
Email: contessaval@gmail.com
Journal: canadianwildboy

Fighting Skills: Logan is familiar with and experienced in virtually every fighting style on Earth.

Other Skills: Wolverine speaks fluent English, Japanese, Russian, Chinese, Cheyenne, Lakota and Spanish, and has some knowledge of French, Thai and Vietnamese. He is an accomplished pilot.

Powers (if applicable): Logan has the power to regenerate damaged or destroyed areas of his celllular structure at a rate far greater than that of an ordinary human. This power is not subject to his will; the regeneration occurs automatically. The speed with which the healing occurs varies in direct proportion with the severity of the damage. It is unknown whether he could regenerate an entire organ or body part such as a limb.

His fast healing ability makes him virtually immune to poisons and most drugs. Alcohol does not intoxicate him. He also has limited immunity to the fatigue drugs generated by bodily activity. This gives him greater endurance than an ordinary human being.

His senses are superhumanly acute, and are comparable to those of certain animals. For example, he can track someone by smell just as a dog or wolf can. His sense of hearing is only slightly less acute than that of Daredevil. It is unknown whether Wolverine can see into the infrared and ultraviolet portions of the spectrum or if his taste and touch are superhumanly acute. (He has not submitted to testing.) His senses comprise a separate mutant power but they are also due in part to his power of cellular regeneration. Thanks to the latter power, the cells of his sense organs do not atrophy.

His skeleton has been artificially laced with Adamantium molecules, rendering his bones virtually unbreakable. He has also been equiped with three Adamanatium claws on each hand. The claws are roughly a foot long, the length of his forearm. He can unsheathe any number of his claws at once. The hardness of adamantium and their sharpness allow him to use them to cut through virtually any substance depending on its thickness and the amount of force he can exert.

Logan has great strength for a man of his size, although it does not reach superhuman levels. He has been known to lift at least 500 pounds.

History: Wolverine’s past is shrouded in mystery. There is no known record of his birth, and since his mutant healing ability causes him to age at a considerably slower rate than that of human beings, his age cannot be estimated. He was found barely alive in the Canadian Rockies by James and Heather Hudson. At this point, he already possessed his adamantium claws and skeleton, although he had no memory of the procedure. Indeed, he had no memory of his life at all before his discovery by the Hudsons. They nursed him back to health and a semblance of sanity.

Because of his special qualities, he was brought into the Canadian Secret Service. (This was not the first time in his life he was an intelligence agent, but where or for whom is unknown.) Because of his usefulness, the Canadian government spent millions both to train Logan in the use of his powers and to psychologically condition him to suppress his berserker tendencies. They were moderately successful.

Logan possesses memories of being a Samurai in Japan, a mercenary operative for the Central Intelligence Agency, and a "wild man" in the Canadian wilderness. Due to extensive memory implants given to Logan through the Weapon X program, any or all of these memories are suspect. Logan has at least one memory of meeting Captain America (Steve Rogers) in World War II while he was in the Canadian Army which has been verified as true. Sometime after World War II, Logan was taken by a group of scientists led by Dr. Cornelius as part of the Weapon X program. Cornelius was hired to perfect and use a technique that would bond the indestructible element adamantium to human bone cells. Logan's skeleton was bonded to the adamantium, and he was indoctrinated into the Weapon X assassin program.

Wolverine was conscripted by Department H, and for his first mission was sent against the incredible Hulk. After his success in pushing Hulk back, SHIELD took an interest in him and made him an offer he refused twice before Department H was persuaded to make an indefinite loan of his services. Since then, Logan has been moving between countries at will as a sleeper agent.

"His name is Fury. Nick Fury. He has been many things in this life. Currently, he is commander-in-chief of S.H.I.E.L.D., making sure when we go to sleep at night -- we wake up in the land of the free."

Avengers vol. 2 #3 (1997)

Character Name: Nicholas Joseph Fury
Player: Stacy
Email: stacyricco@gmail.com
Journal: shield_topdog

Nick is my support character.

Abilities:
Nick Fury's aging has been slowed greatly by the Infinity Formula, a serum created by Dr. Berthold Sternberg. Fury was first inoculated with the serum in the 1940s. Fury took the serum annually for many years. Due to its cumulative effect, Fury no longer needs additional doses to prolong his life span.

Nick Fury is an athletic man despite his advanced chronological age. Fury's injured left eye, though initially minimally affected by a grenade blast during World War II, has over the decades resulted in a 95% loss of vision in this eye. Despite some comments to the contrary, Fury has not had the eye removed, nor bionically enhanced, and merely covers it with a cosmetic eye-patch to prevent depth perception distortion. He has explained that when needing to disguise himself, he only need remove the eyepatch, slip in a contact lens and darken his hair, as everyone always looks for a one-eyed man.

Fury is a seasoned unarmed and armed combat expert, was a heavyweight boxer in the army (during World War II), and holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a brown belt in Jiu Jitsu. He has honed his unarmed combat skills sparring with Captain America.

Fury is a combat veteran of three wars, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam Conflict, as well as numerous "military adviser" missions and clandestine operations ("a dozen conflicts you've never even heard of"). He is trained as a paratrooper, Ranger, a demolitions expert, vehicle specialist (including aircraft and seagoing vessels), and a Green Beret.

Fury has access to a wide variety of equipment and weaponry designed by S.H.I.E.L.D. technicians. He wears a S.H.I.E.L.D. uniform made of 9-ply Kevlar (able to withstand ballistic impact up to .45 caliber bullets) and a Beta cloth (type C), a fire-resistant material, which has a kindling temperature of 1,700 °F (930 °C).

Fury uses various types of handguns, including a .15 caliber needle gun, a government issue .45 caliber automatic, a captured German Luger in 9mm Parabellum, a modified semi-automatic Walther PPK in 9 mm Parabellum, and the Ingram MAC-10 machine pistol in .45 caliber.

As the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Fury has access to the entire S.H.I.E.L.D. highly advanced arsenal of weaponry; various air, land, and sea craft provided by S.H.I.E.L.D.; and numerous S.H.I.E.L.D. paraphernalia, including a radio-link tie and a bulletproof suit.

The eldest of three children, Nicholas Joseph Fury grew up in Depression-era New York City in Hell's Kitchen.

Fury's mother died while he was very young and his father Jack Fury, an American pilot who joined the British war effort during World War I, remarried and had two more children. Nick, Dawn and Jake were raised by his stepmother in lieu of Jack Fury's own early death. It wouldn't be until Nick Fury became a solider himself overseas that he would learn of his father's military service. Living in the tough streets of Hell's Kitchen, Fury soon became fast friends with Red Hargrove, whom he helped keep out of trouble. Fury himself was no stranger to trouble, but more than often confined it to the boxing ring where he would bout, or in the Police Athletic League where he became one of the finest marksman.

World War II

Nick and Red traveled to England together in 1940 where they performed aerial stunts for the flying circus. Red would fly the plane while Nick would perform stunts out on the wings. This impressed British officials and they hired Fury and Hargrove to train British paratroopers. Fury and Hargrove caught the attention of Lt “Happy Sam” Sawyer. Sawyer recruited the two of them for a special mission in Holland, where Nick would meet Timothy “Dum Dum” Dugan.

Seeing the Nazi menace firsthand, Hargrove was moved to say he would enlist and Fury said he would follow him. However Fury didn't enlist until 1941, where he received nine weeks of basic training at Fort Dix without Red Hargrove, hoping to ride out the wave of unemployment in the States. Eventually Fury reunited with Hargrove, both getting stationed at Pearl Harbor.

Following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Fury was spurned on by the death of Hargrove during the attack to join the U.S. Rangers, and was eventually recruited and reunited with Captain Sawyer who assigned him command of the First Attack Squad; aka the "Howling Commandos," a specially-trained band of soldiers who undertook some of the most dangerous missions of the war. Together with Dum Dum Dugan as his second in command, Fury led Gabe Jones, Robert "Reb" Ralston, Dino Manelli, Eric Koenig, Izzy Cohen, Percival Pinkerton, and Jonathan Juniper against the likes of Red Skull, Baron Heinrich Zemo, and other Axis villains, fighting alongside such war heroes as Captain America. As leader of the Howling Commandos, Fury struck blow after blow against the Nazis and their allies through missions that ranged from deep infiltration missions behind enemy lines to undercover work and even some home front action.

Fury would cross paths with Captain America and Logan in Madripoor where they would rescue a young Natasha Romanov from the Hand.

It was during the war that Fury first crossed paths with his most dangerous foe, Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker. Strucker's humiliating defeats at the hands of Fury would drive Strucker to devote a lifetime seeking revenge. Among the formative events during this period of his life included the friendships made with Dum Dum Dugan and Gabe Jones (both of whom would follow him into SHIELD), and fighting alongside fellow war hero Captain America. Also during the war, Fury met Lady Pamela Hawley, who would become his first love. Tragically she died before Fury was able to propose marriage to her. During his relationship with Hawley, they crossed paths with Doctor Strange in a taste of his future strange and extraordinary adventures. During the war Fury and his Commandos faced super-powered menaces that included vampires and other-dimensional beings.

Two serious injuries sustained during this time would have a serious impact in his later life: a grenade blast that began the slow deterioration of his sight in his left eye, and a landmine accident that led to Fury being inoculated with the Infinity Formula by Professor Berthold Sternberg in France.

The Infinity Formula substantially slowed his aging process, and Fury was thrust with a double edged sword: although his life was saved, the consequences of the Infinity Formula would haunt him throughout his life as he would see many friends age and die, as well as become the target of various villains seeking his secret. Dr. Sternberg himself was not immune to taking advantage of Fury's delicate situation, basically holding Fury's life for ransom starting in 1946, every year through 1976 by charging Fury a high fee for more of the serum.

CIA

For most soldiers, after V-J Day the war was over it was time to go home and live a normal life again. This was not the case for Nick Fury. Following a number of "mop-up" missions with the Howlers, Sgt. Fury was reassigned and left his wartime comrades behind in France, heading for Okinawa. His skills were quickly put to use with the growing intelligence community. The Office of Strategic Services had recognized Fury's potential during the war, using him for a few missions into German-occupied France, and based on this he was officially recruited by Colonel Tom Lynaugh. He was flown to Langley where he began training as an agent for the Central Intelligence Agency.

During these cloak & dagger years, Fury saw action in the Korean War, briefly reuniting with some of the former Howling Commandos who reenlisted. On one particular mission, the Howlers joined Fury and Colonel "Happy" Sam Sawyer for a covert mission to destroy a MIG airbase, a mission that earned Fury a long-deserved brevet field commission to Colonel. Fury also became involved in fighting Communist Chinese forces.

Nick spent a few decades working for the CIA, moving up through the ranks to become a deputy director. He was recently tapped to become director of SHIELD.

Abilities:
Hand to hand combat
Shield fighting
Tactician, Strategist, etc
Marksman (expert for 1940s weapons)

Powers: (copied)
Rogers has no superhuman powers, although as a result of the Super-Soldier serum, he was transformed from a frail young man into a "perfect" specimen of human development and conditioning. Rogers is as intelligent, strong, fast, agile, and durable as it was possible for a human being to be without being considered superhuman. Although the SSS is definite, he maintains an overall healthy lifestyle including a regular exercise regimen and a balanced diet.

for long version: http://marvel.wikia.com/Captain_America_(Steven_Rogers)#Powers_and_AbilitiesEdit

Character history up until the start of the game:
The scrawny kid who'd tried to enlist everywhere, only to be rejected, was offered a spot on Operation Rebirth. Nazis spies may have killed the lead scientist and everything surrounding the project, but Rogers survived as the only Super Soldier to come out of that experiment. The American government put him through intensive training before making him the nation's symbol and giving him that iconic red, white and blue costume and shield. And so Captain America was born!

Throughout WWII, Cap and Bucky went on missions throughout Europe, and regularly teamed up with other heroes as part of the Invaders. In the final days of WWII, Captain and Bucky were trying to stop a bomb loaded plane launched by Baron Zemo, when the plane exploded, seeming to kill Bucky and throwing Steve into the icy Artic waters below. Due to the Super Soldier treatment, instead of dying, he entered a state of suspended animation and has been like that ever since.

Sif

2013-07-24 12:45 am UTC (link)
Character Name: Sif
Player: Stacy
Email: stacyricco@gmail.com
Journal: lady_sif

Abilities (Standard Asgardian ability set):
Super Strength: She can press/lift up to around 25 tons.

Superhuman Stamina: Like all Asgardians, Sif’s muscles produce considerably less fatigue toxins during physical activity than those of humans allowing her to operate at peak levels for longer periods of time.

Superhuman Durability: The tissues of Sif's body are also considerably harder and more resistant to injury than those of a human. She is immune to all known diseases, and resistant to most poisons.

Superhuman Longevity: Sif, like all other Asgardians, isn't immortal in the same sense some other god pantheons. Svalin ages at a pace far slower than a human being. The consumption of the Golden Apples of the goddess Idun is essential to an Asgardian maintaining their physical vigor, though Svalin has not yet had to ingest any of the apples so far due to her young age.

Regenerative Healing Factor: Despite her high resistance to injury, it is possible to injure Sif. If injured, her body is capable of repairing damaged tissue with much greater speed and efficiency than the body of a human being. Serious injuries such as missing limbs can only be healed by magical means.

Superhumanly Dense Tissue: As with all Asgardians, Sif's skin, muscle, and bone tissues have 3 times the density of the same tissue in the body of a human being, contributing somewhat to her superhuman strength and weight.

Exceptionaly Strong Will The Aesir are gods, and possess much greater than human will, being resistant to most manner of possession, mind control and similar effects.

Aesir: Sif can speak English, German and a number of the languages of northern Europe, but is primarily fluent in the language of the Norse gods. When she speaks, all listeners understand what she's saying in an archaic version of their own native language, hence the Norse gods speaking middle English.

Other Abilities:
Weapons Mastery: Sif is a formidable combatant and has received extensive training in unarmed combat and extensive training with swords, staffs, bow and arrow and a wide variety of other weapons.

History:

Sif is a beautiful warrior-goddess of the Asgardlan pantheon. Helmdali, her brother, is the sentinel of Asgard's Rainbow Bridge, which connects Asgard and Midgard (Earth).

When Sif was a child, she possessed long golden hair. She often played with young Thor, Odin's son, and Loki, Thor's adopted brother. Sif and Thor fell in love while they were quite young. Jealous, Loki cut off all of Sif's golden hair while she was asleep.

Guessing that Loki had something to do Sif's loss of hair, Thor angrily demanded that Loki restore her golden locks. The scared Loki contacted two dwarven craftsmen, Brokk and Entiri (who would later create Thor's Mjolnir hammer), and asked them to create new hair for Sif. Loki was either unable, or unwilling, to pay the dwarves enough gold to create golden hair. The dwarves decided that "for the price of naught" they would make "strands of naught." The dwarves created magical strands of hair from the blackness of the night. The strands of darkness took root the moment they were placed on Sif's head, and then began to grow out. Thor found that Sif's new black tresses made her even more attractive, disrupting Loki's plan to ruin their relationship.

Thor convinced Sif that the Frost Giants needed to be destroyed and she agreed. Instead of letting the Prince of Asgard cause conflict, she convinced him not to attack and instead she attacked.

Odin's wrath was great when the deed was discovered and as punishment he banished Sif from Asgard. He sent her to another realm as punishment.

Loki witnessed Odin banish Sif had seen where Odin had sent her followed. He destroyed the Bifrost bridge in his wake, cutting off all access to Migard from Asgard. He immediately found Sif and cast an enchantment on her to change her looks and to erase her memories so Thor wouldn't be able to recognize her. She was now blonde and had no memory of who she was or where she had come from.

She has also been referred to as a "psi of the highest order," been ranked among the five most skilled telepaths on the planet.

Age: (20 here but a lady never tells and she has a superiority streak that has her act older too)

Character history up until the start of the game:
A member of an old Boston mercantile family, and the second of three daughters, Emma grew up under the thumb of her domineering father. Initially a disappointment in his eyes, she began suffering migraines until her powers emerged and she used them to excel in all aspects of her life. But when she decided on a future as a teacher, her father disapproved and had her mentor/teacher fired. Her brother's alienation from the family due to their father, led to his attempted suicide. Being the closest to Christian, Emma was quite affected by this change and saw her brother's drug abuse getting worse. In a desperate attempt to save him from himself, she went to her father with the problem and he promised to put Christian in rehab. Her rebellions against him and her finally coming to him to help with Christian's issues had her father, to everyone's surprise, pick Emma as his heir. But at that same moment he had Christian taken away to a mental institution. Outraged, Emma refused to be her father's heir and left home to make her own way in life instead.

It didn't work out at first, minimum wage jobs while trying to figure out how to use her telepathy, but after a situation that ended up in a forced staged kidnapping turning into a real one, Emma managed to use her telepathy to free herself and walk off with the ransom money her father was forced to pay. She dyed her hair blonde and enrolled in Empire State University. She met her first fellow telepath, Astrid Bloom, who trained her in the use of her abilities. But it was revealed that Astrid was manipulating others, including the man Emma was interested, so she could keep her to herself. Upon learning this, Emma mentally defeated Astrid, absorbing her knowledge of telepathy (and the use of 'darling') and revealed her mutation to Ian Kendall, who's job she'd saved and who she was in love with. But he left her in disgust. The events led Emma to view humans beneath mutants and she began believing that there was no reason to use restraint in her powers.

She moved into business, rapidly rising through the ranks. Her success in business and her skill at using her powers to further it caught the attention of the Hellfire Club who extended and invitation to her. She joined, developing even more confidence and new ways to use her powers along with using her appearance to control and manipulate situations. But she wasn't in the Club too long, seeing a fast riser in their ranks, both Shaw and Selene teamed up to conspire against the new White Queen, managing to both kick her out of the club and have a hostile takeover of her company. Stuck with only the assets she'd hidden away, and a large stake in an old boarding school (no longer open) in Massachusetts, Emma was out to sea. She decided that while yes, humans were terrible and beneath them, she needed to get back at Shaw and Selene too. So she took the 'mutant school' idea she'd been keeping in mind to use for the Hellfire Club and took it on the road for now, looking for mutants to recruit as her students in her first class.

Character history up until the start of the game:
(Unknown to him: Raven Darkholme and Irene Alder had a child together, a little boy with yellow eyes, blue fur and a tail. Soon enough, they realized their lives were too dangerous for a baby like Kurt. Or, he would hold them back and be too conspicuous for the two's already deadly lives. Foreseeing the doom, Irene had Mystique give the baby up to Margali Szardos, a sorceress and gypsy queen, for safe-keeping.)

Raised by his foster mother Margali, a fortune teller and gypsy witch of a traveling Bavarian carnival, Kurt grew up around the circus life. With his blue fur, tail and strange physique, it was easier for outsiders to believe he wore a costume for the shows than the truth. He was a skilled acrobat and contortionist, would perform and be adored by the same people that would shriek and attack him if he walked down their streets. He was curious of the world, though feared being exposed to them and stayed in the shadows. The clan of the big tent, however, accepted him and treated him as surrogate sibling, raising Kurt and teaching him the ropes. Everyone, except the ringmaster, Herr Max Getmann, who became more and more abusive as the boy grew. When Kurt clearly came into puberty, Getmann was sure the demon would attack some poor clean girl and ruin her with his savage impulses, and Margali knew she could shield the boy no longer. She tapped her contacts (through the Hellfire Club's networks, no doubt) and somehow reached one Emma Frost, asking the woman if she could conceal the boy away from Getmann's reach.
