When the Destroyer Attacks
Asgard was no stranger to attacks. Attacks on the Golden Realm came frequently and the host of Asgard would rise to meet the challenge before them. It was a never ending cycle of death and violence. One day it would end with a final battle, but that would not be today.

Legions of the deal led by Hela followed after the Destroyer. Multitudes of the dishonored dead and the common dead followed their mistress to the walls of Asgard. The dead weren't the only ones approaching the city. Trolls and Frost Giants were also in the ranks of the enemy. Their numbers were far greater than the number of those defending the city.

At the head stood a giant figure in shining armor. The Destroyer, once created to challenge the mighty Celestials, led the advance on Asgard.

	A large number of trolls approached the city from the south. They each held very large spiked clubs and had faces only a mother could love. They looked intent on knocking down the walls that protected the city. They were followed by legions of the dead. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	The thick ranks of the trolls and the legion that follow them were deemed a perfect place to set the bear-sark, who could stand toe to toe with the large creatures, and not flinch from strength or numbers. 	The Dark Elves weren't just warriors and horsemen, they were also familiar with the use of magic. Magical blasts and fireballs came from the ranks of the Dark Elves and toward the defenders. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Svalin had taken a spot atop the Eastern Wall which would put her in the middle of the battlefield so to speak. She would not be fighting this day due to her condition, but she could still lead the battle and manage things from behind the lines. She hated every second of it.

She spotted the Dark Elves and their cavalry. "Vor of the Narangan Blade!" she called out. "Prepare thine riders!"

She looked over at her sister standing with the archers. "Aridis, prepare thine archers!"

"Bear sarks! To the Southern Wall to deal with the trolls!" she called out.

The rumble of the steps of the Frost Giants' steps didn't go unnoticed.

"Crimson Hawks! The honor of fighting the Frost Giants falls to thee!"

"First, second and third legions to the North!"

"Third and fourth legions to the East!"

"The rest to the south but mind the bear sarks!"

"FOR THE GLORY OF ASGARD!"

	Vernique hovered around the Eastern wall, resetting her stun gun to levels she'd only ever used on inanimate objects before. She looks at the Dark Elf cavalry and takes aim. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The Dark Elves that had gotten past the walls moved quickly, damaging what they could and spilling what blood their pace allowed. Skirmishers more than shock troops or artillery. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	Svalin saw the riders behind the walls and reacted. As much as she wanted to go down there and fight them herself, she couldn't. Her duty was to direct the efforts of the Asgardians. "Reserves!" she yelled to the troops behind the walls. "Deal with them!" (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Odin and Thor battled the Destroyer while the forces of Asgard battled the frost giants, trolls, dark elves and the legions of the undead. The Destroyed continued its steady advance on the city despite the efforts of Odin and Thor. Without warning the Destroyer disappeared and in its place for a brief moment was a young girl. Then she too disappeared.

The enemy forces paused for a moment when the Destroyer disappeared and the Asgardians took advantage of the moment and went on the offensive. The enemy was starting to be pushed back from the walls of the city. It didn't take long for the enemy to go into full blown retreat.

The battle was over and Asgard would stand. It was time for the Asgardians to see to the wounded and then dead. Celebrations would come after.

	Halbjorn pursues briefly, cutting a couple foes down, but that slows him enough to get behind the retreat. In the end, the rage begins to settle, and when it does, he collapses from his injuries, breathing heavily. Not quite so bad as last time, but ugly enough. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The dead were buried and honored with traditional Asgard ceremonies. Once the dead was seen to, it was time for the living to celebrate. Odin's Great Hall was filled with the host of Asgard. Mead flowed and the tables were weighted down with delicious victuals. Smiles could be seen on faces and laughter and talk filled the air. (Reply to this)(Thread)
