Happy Birthday! Also Happy Earth Day!
Amara Aquila Drake smiled as they stepped out of a portal and into the Champions' headquarters in New Orleans. She carried gifts in her arms and wore a smile on her face. Corey was seventeen today and they had to celebrate his birthday. Irina had been nice enough to travel to Nova Roma and bring Bobby and Amara to New Orleans to see their son on his birthday. There was a brief stop in New York to get Cait and the four of them continued on to New Orleans.

"Cornelius Drake!" Amara called out.

Alisa had heard all the commotion for Corey's Birthday in the headquarters on the Champions. She could only smile at such a happy occasion. Taking a deep breath, Alisa walked into the party, holding a rather planter in her hand. There was a sapling in the clay planter, with a blue ribbon around it.

"Umm... ah hope ah ain' interuptin' , but ah 'eard we got a Birthday boy in be base. So ah went out an' bought'em a nice present!" She smiled nervously, offering the plant out to Corey. " 'appy Birthday Corey!"

"It's nice ta meet'cha. Ah'm Alisa LeBeau... ah'm well. Ah work at de Motorcycle repair shop next door, but ah stay here. Your son found me diggin' t'rough a dumpster an' changed mah whole world. Ah'm very grateful to Corey, an' he's a good kid. you raised him very well." Alisa felt so awkward as she spoke to Amara, almost to the point where her red on black eyes were as wide as they could go. She kept holding on to the plant as she spoke. "De world needs more people like Corey."

"W-wait... what? Corey's non mah boyfriend! Ah'm... ah'm like almost four years older den him!" Alisa almost dropped the plant hearing that. She then walked over to a table and carefully placed her plant on it, making sure it would not fall over, or break the table. "Ah mean, Corey a very nice boy an' all... but he non interested. He's devoted to his work, savin' de world, keepin' de Champions fed, an' makin' sure ah get to a healthier weight."

Corey gives her a 'Darn right' kind of nod, but smiles. He was really glad that Rufus was essentially back to normal. With all they'd been through in recent months...

Some people might get tired of being given so many plants and trees on a single birthday. Those people are so, so not Cornelius Drake. He's gone totally Cheshire Cat.

Alisa smiled, patting Corey on the back as she headed for the door. This just felt too weird and awkward for her to stay. Besides, Corey should be spending this time with his family! He was gonna see her everyday for... well... however long he or she stayed with the Champions, anyway!

Argo beamed. He did well know of Corey's father, who had served with his own, and even recalled a mention of his mother as well.

He shook Bobby's hand. "'tis a pleasure to meet thee all," he said. "To what do we owe the honor of this visit?"
