Changes (Justin).
Something about the couch had been annoying Tina for a few weeks. It wasn't the couch itself, that was fine and very comfortable. Justin always seemed to enjoy sprawling out on it for movie nights. What it seemed to be was that Tina didn't like where it was in the living room so, with the day to herself, she spent some time rearranging things. Tina pushed furniture around, adjusted where things were placed, even bought a couple of new throw blankets to dress things up. When she was finished she was pleased with her work and sat down to wait for Justin to come over. He practically lived there; his opinion mattered a great deal to her.

	Justin arrives bearing flowers, chocolate and healthy sandwiches, because he has to cut down on his burrito intake. Doctor's orders and all. He opens the door and finds immediately that something is different. "Baby, did you move the couch?" he asks, noting that the couch is not where it once was. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	His blue eyes seem to light up as well, upon seeing her. He kisses her and then hands her the flowers. "Hey, I /am/ capable of buying them 'just because', you know." he teases. "But, I do have something to talk to you about and I need you in as good of a mood as possible." he says. "You hungry? I got sandwiches. This healthy eating thing is lame, by the way." "I know that long-distance sucks, but I know other people who do it, too. We can make this work, if we really want to..." Justin says.

"...but I get it if you don't want to. So, if it's between you and the job, I'll ask Mr. Stark to find someone else and stay here." Justin says.

"Let me know what you're thinking, Tina. No matter how bad you think it is or if you think it'll hurt my feelings. It won't." he says.

"I don't know what I'm thinking," she said quietly, her eyes looking down for a moment. It was a lie of sorts. She did know one thing that she was thinking and it repeated in her mind: he's leaving me, he's leaving me, he's leaving me.

"You've been wanting this type of job since I've known you, Justin. You can't tell him no. If you do, you'll be miserable and you'll resent me. I can't make you pick between me and the job you really want."

The 'unless it turns out to be a nice place' part bothered Tina, but she simply nodded along. What if it did turn out to be a nice place and he wanted to stay? She couldn't exactly leave New York, not with X-Force and she didn't see herself leaving X-Force for a long time.

Justin was leaving. He wasn't coming back.

"I will. I have to make sure the place is good enough for you," she smiled a bit. "And fuss."

"I actually hadn't considered you might want me to come with you," she says honestly and her eyes light up a little bit. "All the grief you gave me about my wanting you to move in here it seemed logical to me that you'd want some man time out in the Midwest."

She moves a bit closer to him, resting her head on his shoulder.

"I wouldn't sell this place even if I could move. I got this place at a great price and could easily afford to maintain the residence even if I moved. But...I can't really move, Justin. Much as I want to go with you, I have things here. I have X-Force and it would be almost impossible for me to respond to a call from a time zone away. And then there's my mother's idea of me working with her. It's not that I don't want to go...I just don't think that I can."

	Cry wasn't really a viable option, but it was what Tina wanted to do. She wanted to curl up--likely in the closet because it was dark and secure--and cry. But she couldn't and Justin kissing her did take some of the edge off of the pain. It was just enough. "Not let go of you for a long, long time." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
