Looking For Luck I Can't Even Buy
It was a perfect fall afternoon. The thermometer was in the low 60s, the sky was a bright blue and the sun was bright. The trees were vibrant oranges, yellows and reds as they showed off their colors of the season. It was also the time of the year for Dad's birthday and Anya was at a loss of what to get him this year.

It was a great excuse to shop.

Classes finished up early on Fridays and Anya was back in New York by two. Plenty of time to shop, grab dinner and then find something to do for the evening. The first thing she did was grab Toni to drag her along. Anya's free time had been in short supply lately as she got caught up with school and it had been awhile since she had some time with her bestest friend.

The streets and sidewalks were crowded as they made their way down Fifth Avenue.

All things considered, things were going all right for Toni. They'd gotten Anya and the others out of SHIELD custody and kicked major ass. She was taking some distance classes through Xaiver's. Mom was back home from several weeks at sea on a salvage job, and Dad had finally found something to do with himself, some sort of "top secret" job down in South America with Michael Collins and Josiah X.

"I ever tell you I was still seeing Corbin?" Toni mused, as they walked down the street.

	Anya's eyes went wide when she saw the familiar face. Her chest tightened and she could feel the panic trying to get a grip. The backhand connected and bones cracked. Her feet lifted off the ground and she went flying back through the air. She hit the large window of a store front and went through it. Blackness closed in around her. 	Toni was taken completely by surprise by the sudden attack on Anya, but well-honed reflexes took over. She was without her uniform or any of her weaponry, but she was far from helpless. 	He's knocked forward... directly towards Toni. He may have been taken by surprise by the attack, but he uses the attack to his advantage and fires a cold blast at her as he moves towards her.
