Santa Baby So Hurry Down the Chimney Tonight (Alpha Flight)
Christmas. Yule. Saturnalia. Dies Natalis Solis Invicti. Many cultures have celebrated and still celebrate a winter festival. There have been many names for it over the millennia. No matter the name it is a time to come together and celebrate with feasts and gifts with friends and loved ones.

Each culture has a legendary figure who would deliver gifts to children during this time. In Russia and some Slavic cultures he is known as Ded Moroz, Grandfather Frost, and comes not on Christmas but on New Year’s along with his granddaughter Snegurochka, or ‘”Snow Maiden”. In the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe he is known as Father Christmas. In the Netherlands and Belgium he is known as Saint Nicholas or “Sinterklaas” and in France he is known as Père Noël. In the United States we know him as Santa Claus.

No matter the name or who is delivering gifts, it is the season of peace, joy and togetherness. It is the season for thinking about loved ones, friends and those less fortunate. It is a time to witness the goodness and generosity the human race is capable of. It is a time for peace on Earth and goodwill toward man.

Jordan is missing Christmas with the team this year, having been admitted for observation and recovery time to a private hospital. After the nervous breakdown, the severity, and how fit he is for service has to be determined.

He did leave presents for everyone before that though, this year, they come in pairs.

For Alex and Mel - it took a rather large donation to the charity to arrange, but they'll be seated at the same table as Her Serene Highness Princess Anni-Frid Synni Reuss, Countess of Plauen at a New Years charity ball for one of the Countess' environmental charities in Switzerland. Hotel, food and all the rest for a luxury stay in Switzerland, and a two week tour of Western Europe is included.

For Mason and Marrinna - there's a tropical island vacation. Plenty of water and luxury, but in the wrong ocean to have the slightest thing to do with Atlantis. Once again, accommodations, food, unlimited room service and all of the optional services of the resort are included.

He doesn't know Kassia as well, but she too gets a resort vacation with a guest of her choice.

	Mostly, Mel was worried about Jordan, but in terms of the present, she would jump through the roof...if she could still jump. She sent him his favorite cookies, and with help from being waited on hand and foot, baked things for everyone else. (Reply to this)(Parent)

There's a knock at Jordan's door, before a middle-aged man and woman enter, wearing tired but large smiles.

"Merry Christmas, sweetie." Lillian chimes, carrying a basket of tupperware protected Christmas feast components, crossing the room to put it down at the side of her son's bed and hug him. Behind her, her husband carries what is likely the world's only gingerbread house with a custom-fit titanium travel case to protect it.

"Hey kiddo." Madison nods to Jordan as he pulls a surprisingly large collapsible table and chairs from his backpack, setting up dinner.

	Jordan sits up, the bed creaking ominously under his weight. They did their best, and he's made some modifications, which he thinks will hold, but it sounds bad. "Hey." he responds, hugging Lil back, genuinely happy for the company. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Come on you, up. Wash your face at least and have a seat." She smiles as she relinquishes her hug and starts getting out dishes. Steaks, potatoes au gratin, baked brie, braised kale, and cranberry sauce (properly retaining the shape of the can).

"Mason sends his best wishes and says thank you." Madison chimes, laying out the place settings and pouring some wine (a Quebec vineyard) for each of them, hospital orders be damned.

"The doctors say he should get his vision back completely. Meanwhile he's complaining that he has a perfectly legitimate reason to wear an eyepatch but Halloween isn't for most of the year." Lillian smirks.

"A month of twice weekly physical therapy for his leg, and lots of bed-rest for the general stuff." Madison adds, pulling out Lil's chair for her. "He was also going on about some regimen of sushi to brace himself for whatever Namor serves for dinner." He shrugs. "So.. yeah, if he's back to worrying about stuff like that already, I think he'll be fine." He chuckles.

With all the other craziness that had gone on (not to mention how guilty she was feeling over everything that had gone on with Mel and Jordan and all...), Marrina had decided she needed to definitely go back home for the holidays.

Home home. Not Atlantis. To the little fishing village where she was raised. And with any lucky, she'd get Mason to come too.

There were presents for her teammates, ones sent out to Kassi and Mac, and even one for her father down in Atlantis.

Mason would really prefer if the first time he met his girlfriend's parents, the ones who raised her, that he wasn't sporting an eyepatch, a bunch of bruises, and using a cane, but he wasn't about to refuse. He was looking forward to it.

For Marrina herself, he'd gotten a set of silver and sapphire earrings shaped like little crowns.

Alex received a custom-fit three piece suit, and Mel got a complete set of new crepe pans and sauce pans.

Jordan got a special care package of all his favorite snacks sent to the hospital, along with a jersey signed by that season's starting lineup from the Team-that-shall-not-be-named.

Alex was not a shopper, but he wouldn't let Christmas pass without getting his teammates gifts.

Mason got a Leafs jersey and two tickets to a game.

Jordan got a Canadiens jersey and two tickets to a game.

Marrina got a dolphin statue.

Alex had gotten Mel tickets to ABBAworld in Stockholm. Which he just adjusted the dates for the hotel and flights there to match up with the trip Jordan got them. He also got her a charm bracelet. And of course was by her side and waited on her hand and foot getting her whatever she wanted.
