In The Wee Small Hours Of the Morning - Angst 5 (Kelly)
Anya stumbled into the kitchen of the Thunderbolts headquarters and silently prayed there was some coffee made. It was early or late depending on how one looked at it, but she hadn't slept yet tonight. Sleep was a rare commodity lately. Nightmares kept her awake at night, but on the plus side she was getting some work done.

She stared at the coffee maker as if willing the thing to work were possible. Blinking a few times she kicked on the autopilot and started prepping the machine to make a fresh pot.

Kelly makes her way into the kitchen, wearing a spiked collar and a grey t-shirt reading 'I Was Going to Have My Orgy Catered, but We Decided to Eat Out', and incongruously, a pair of bunny slippers. Well, incongruous, except each bunny has a little ball gag sewn into the mouths.

She notices the red-head, then the coffee maker. "Looking like that, the auto-brew won't do you any fucking good. Allow me, boss, and grab a seat. Or I'll grab one, but you don't look like you're in that mood." Not that it usually stops her any.

	Kelly breaks into her personal stock, and sets into making 'Kelly' grade coffee. Which is to say, highly sugared, and when you try to stir it, there will be a battle between the so-called 'liquid' and the spoon. But it'll certainly perk someone up. "All the time." she agrees. "I sleep with a gun under my pillow, another sewn into it, one under the mattress... and not just because they're sexy." She shrugs. "Weapon X made me. I never had any happy memories or family or days in the park. I read my own psych reports, I know how normal I'm not. But the truth is, I'll never totally escape it, and I know it. So I do my best to just look forward, take elephant tranqs that'll help me get towards sleep before the healing factor kills it on the bad nights, and remind myself in the mornings that I'm not in their control anymore."

Kelly grins, reaching out to give Anya's hand a squeeze. "No, no. Not fishing for sorries or pity. It is what it is. And I don't know how to be anyone else. Just the long version of 'yeah, I understand nightmares'. I definitely like this place better, regardless... so looking forward is working so far. Afraid I can't tell you much about getting over those dreams though. But I'm here, for what that's worth... even if my room might inspire some new nightmares."

	"Smart of them... that's the way I'd do it." Kelly admits. She is who and what she is. "But yeah, that kind of imprisonment is the worst. And has to make sleeping extra difficult - not wanting to even briefly go still, or get tangled up in heavy blankets, having to move just to make sure you still can... right?" "For what its worth, I know that one. Though for me, its all about the mental, not the physical, being stuck in a brain that's not entirely mine, not the body. But from what I understand, part of the key is finding a security blanket - something to physically remind you you're not back there. Because you don't have a healing factor... keep staying up like this, it'll get worse eventually. Western and eastern Medicine says so."

	Anya shrugged a bit. "What does medicine know? Thankfully I've never needed much sleep. My parents say I never slept much as a baby or kid. They genetically cursed me to not need much sleep and then add in being a workaholic." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Kelly grins. "Wow, no one ever accused me of being the voice of responsibility before. As for the octane, don't worry... you'll be bouncing off the walls in no time."
She gets up to gather the coffee, by now, all brewed, and dangerously close to giving up on being classifiable as a liquid.
"If this doesn't get your pulse rate going, you're officially dead. It shouldn't need anything."
