	i see things the opposite way. i see the "popular" people working their asses off to comment anything that might look like it has a low comment count and a ton of deadweight characters that don't comment anything or only comment their slp's posts. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	i don't understand why it always has to be the "popular" people who have to contact someone first. they all post plenty of things for people to comment on and always comment back. i don't think i've ever seen any of them ignore a comment in any of their posts yet they get bashed for not interacting and branching out? i don't mean to come across as a bitch but i put in a lot of effort with the comm, especially when i first joined. i mean a LOT of effort, and i still put in quite a bit, but i've stopped holding hands/babying and going well out of my way to make every single individual character/person in the comm feel like they're desperately wanted and i enjoy the game so much more now that i actually have time to focus on my own stuff instead of everyone else's. it's not up to other people to create interaction FOR you.

	my character has a lot on his plate right now so he hasn't been commenting around as much when he is around, and i comment people then when he makes a post he gets not as much in response. my guy is still considered somewhat 'popular' so that's why i'm saying it's a two way street. 	this negativity is making me sad. i'm relatively new to the comm and i'm consistently impressed with the responses my character's posts get. not just from new people dying to make friends but from people who have been in the comm forever. (Reply to this)

my guy isn't someone who just talks to everyone. he's more reserved, but once he gets to know someone he's friendly and out going. those he has gotten to know, like lefors and alange, have been great. i wish he had someone really close to him to talk to, besides the one person he does. but i can't just have him im random people when that wouldn't be in his persona to do it. so i attempt through comments and updates. but i'm open to suggestions from the rest of you, if you have ideas for more interaction.

sermon anon says... this game should be about doing what you enjoy. if you feel you have done everything you are happily willing to do and you are still not having the experience that you want, you sometimes have to move on to things that you are less willing to do that might bring you the results you want (e.g. commenting more than you are commented). the truth is that not all characters (and not all writers) are going to find your character interesting and engaging. there's nothing wrong with that. as humans, we all have varied interests. personally, if a character made a genuine, serious effort to reach out to my character, i would try to reward that by returning the effort. that won't always happen. some characters are more introverted. some are standoffish. this is not a reflection on you as a writer. i sympathize with your frustration because i want meaningful relationships and interaction for my character too, but i accept that making other writers responsible for your happiness is not productive or practical. once you accept responsibility for creating the experience you want to have online in this collaborative game, you will see that while there will always be challenges here, there are just as many opportunities. try to enjoy the challenge. that's my advice. end of sermon.
