"It's all good in the hood," Hunter replied simply, a grin crossing her lips as she tipped her hat to the other girl. "And hell yeah, I'm pumped for the break, but it'd be even better if I could just stay here inside of goin' back home. I ain't looking forward to two weeks of tea parties, fancy dinners, and.. courting gentleman suitors, as my ma calls them. Also known as the stuck up sons of her stuck up friends. She ain't gunna be satisfied unless I'm on my best behavior neither.. she's one picky bitch. But eh, that's what Christmas is about, ain't it? Putting up with family? If I was staying here, I could just practice quodpot the whole time, sleep all day.. now that would be the life!"
Reclining more comfortably in her chair, Hunter's arms crossed loosely over her chest. "What about y'all? You and Keegan got big plans?"

"I guess you're right? But every family is different. And yeah, that would be great for you, I'm sure." Rowan smiled at the happy thought of what she would like to be doing during break.
"Um, big plans? Not really. Holiday celebration with his family, and then his parents invited me and mine over for dinner. We don't really celebrate, uh, big like that, so it'll be different this year. Fun." The memories of holidays passing uncelebrated flashed through Rowan's mind. Birthdays, holidays, anything that was a real party and a cause for high spirits. Since excitement seemed to set Rose Cabot off, the family tended to let things pass by unnoticed.
Moving to change the mood of the conversation to a happier one for her, Rowan spoke with a small smile. "I just hope he likes the things I made for him and got him."

"Hey, that does sound pretty nice," Hunter agreed, grinning over at the other girl as she watched Rowan smile. "Definitely looks like you think so, too. I'm happy for y'all, I bet Keegan is real excited himself.. I was thinking of inviting Gray out my place, but I figured he wouldn't wanna come. Besides, not sure I want to put him through sitting with my folks, it.. really ain't a great experience," she explained, laughing a little. She could just imagine the look on her mother's face when Gregoire LeClair walked into their home. It would almost be worth the bitching to see that look.
When Rowan mentioned her gifts, Hunter perked up. "Man, I barely got any shopping done.. I got him a watch, and these cool as shit bottle of vodka, but I dunno what else yet. He probably won't even get me nothin'.. but that's Gray. And he did get me some eggnog earlier, hand delivered! What more can a girl ask for?" the blonde said, laughing a little, and tipping the cup in her hand. "Good nog, too. You had any yet?"

"I do think so, yeah. We don't usually make a big deal about celebrating things, so this will be a nice change. And... it's kind of nice to be able to celebrate the holidays with someone..." This was her first real relationship, and her first big holiday with Keegan, and it was rather exciting to her to be able to spend some time with him over this happy time of year.
"Well, you never know unless you ask if he would want to come. So how are things... going with you two?" Rowan had no idea the nature of their relationship, or how long they had been together. Or if 'together' was really the word to use in this situation.
"I mostly made people their gifts. I like to make things personal, you know?" She laughed at the blonde girl's enthusiasm and the nod to the nog. "No, I haven't. I'm kind of afraid to try it. I don't think I've ever had eggnog before, actually..."

"Going same as ever, I guess. I mean, they're going. Which is awesome, but not nearly as awesome as this eggnog," the blonde rambled back, her one free hand fluttering vibrantly as she spoke, as if to excentuate each word. When Rowan admitted to having never tried it, Hunter's face dropped into a look of serious concern.
"Wait, never tried it? Never had eggnog!? Girl, goddamn! Drink this shit! What ya got to be afraid of!?"
Pausing, she quietly added, "There ain't even much rum in this one, I ran the hell out. But eh, it still ain't bad!"
