She was...hugging him. He didn't understand why, standing there with a surprised look on his face. He didn't return it at first, instead blinking as he tired to imagine what on earth was going on. But after the shock began to wear off, he slowly returned that hug awkwardly.

He wanted to relax, but every muscle in his body continued to knot up. Still he clung to her for a moment, despite the shaky feeling in his arms.

"Sorry..." He said, a little calmer, but still clearly agitated. He wasn't really one for running to people, he realized, but Rowan was shockingly easy to turn to. Much to his own chagrin.

She was surprised when her returned the hug, actually. Rowan had not been expecting that from him, really. Leon was just so... prickly. He never let anyone in, really, and put up all those things to drive people away, or into a frenzy. She supposed that Adelaide was probably one of the few people that actually got close to him.

So when she felt his arms around her, she tried to convey without words a sense of calm, and of understanding. Also of friendship. Because even though Leon wasn't exactly the kind of person that Rowan would normally choose to hang out with, there was a sense here that maybe she could help him and maybe - just maybe - they might actually get along during this trying time. Also, after.

"Don't worry about it. It'll be alright." She sighed a little, more for the situation than anything else.
