Amy/Open

Amy hadn't been sure whether or not she was going to Sam's New Year's Eve party when she first heard about it, but Grandma said Adam couldn't go unless she did, and that tipped the scales in favor of going. She was amused by how excited he was about his first big high school party. Though they'd only arrived a few minutes past seven, there was already a sizeable amount of people at the party.

As it was a New Year's Eve party, Amy thought a little glitz might be appropriate (at least from what she'd seen on TV and in movies, this was her first New Year's Eve party not counting sleepovers), but now she wondered if her sequinned top and silver shoes were a little much, considering how many people were in T-shirts, jeans and sneakers. Then again, there were a few other girls in glitzy tops and heels, too. And there was nothing dressy about her dinosaur jewelry. Nothing.

Adam quickly made a beeline to where a small group of freshmen were standing at the corner of the living room, and Amy went to get something to drink. Grabbing a wine cooler, she headed over to the couch and sat down, sipping her drink and toying with her dinosaur bracelet while she kept an eye on Adam as was her job as the oldest sibling, at least until something more interesting distracted her.

Amy/Ginger

Ginger was dressed to get attention, there was no doubt of that. Her hair was up out of her face, and she was already a little tipsy. That was probably how she missed Amy and plowed right into her instead.

"Like, oh my gawd, watch were you are standing. You can't like stand in the middle of the way. Ug." She started, rolling her eyes before spotting what Amy was wearing. "Really? Did you like, shop at good will or something?"

Re: Amy/Ginger

"What the-" Amy started as a blur of silver bumped into her. Well, now she really didn't have to worry about being overdressed. Ginger McMoron or whatever her name was, was dressed to the nines. Amy's sparkly tank top seemed very casual in comparison.

"It's kind of hard to watch where I'm standing when I'm sitting." she said dryly, rolling her eyes. "And yes, I did shop at Goodwill. Let me guess, you shopped wherever your favorite magazines told you to, am I right?"

Amy/Ginger

"Whatever, your legs were totally in my way." Ginger rolled her eyes again, getting back to her feet in a mostly graceful manner. But then Amy spoke again, she had to laugh.

"Please," she said, holding her hand up. "Obviously you don't know a thing about fashion. I'll pretend that shopping goodwill is like so better than buying a good pair of Louis Vuitton shoes because I'm nice. But while you are stuck over here being a 'wall flower' or whatever you want to call this lame excuse to wear the worlds worse outfit, I'm going to be the life of someone's very personal party."

Ginger gave Amy a smug little smirk. Yeah, she wasn't the brightest, but clothing and men were two subjects she could major in for college and graduate with honors.

Amy/Ginger

"Okay, you're not even making any sense." Amy scoffed, not even bothering to argue the fact that Ginger was clearly not watching where she was going, or the merits of thrift store shopping. It'd go over her head.

"I'm over here not being social because I'm not really much of a people person. Sometimes I need a little of this-" she indicated her wine cooler before continuing, "before I feel up to talking to people at these things. And you'll be in someone's 'personal party' because you're easy. If you were wearing my outfit and I was wearing yours, I'd still need a drink to put me in a better mood for mass socialization, and you'd still probably end up getting screwed. Hell, we could be wearing the same outfit, and the same thing would happen."

She knew Ginger would probably expire on the spot at the thought of wearing thrift shop clothing or the same outfit as her, and grinned at the thought.

Amy/Ginger

"So like, why do you even bother coming at all, Lamy." Honestly, the not social people really needed to not come ruin everyone else's fun! All they did was drink and sulk, and the drink some more. Those booze should have been labeled 'for fun people only', and then things would at least be fair. If she ever had a party, at least, only the fun people would be invited.

"Oh my gawd, as if I would be caught dead where some trailer trash goodwill hand me downs. Someone else wore those before you, you know. That's like, so pathetic I can't even begin to count the ways." The idea of wearing Amy's outfit made Ginger's skin crawl, and she visibly shuddered for it.

"My grandma said my brother couldn't go if I didn't." Amy shrugged before taking another well-needed sip of her drink. Adam owed her big for this. She did okay at the smaller parties mostly populated by Sonniers, but the big ones? Fish out of water.

"No shit, Sherlock- of course I know someone else owned that stuff before me." she added witheringly. "Ever heard of a cleaning charm? Besides, it's not like I'm wearing used underwear or anything. It's called having some creativity and imagination. I never know what I'll find, and that's part of the fun. But if you want to be narrow-minded, that's not my problem."

Amy/Ginger

"Aw, that's so cute. You came to babysit!" She paused a moment, thinking so very hard from the looks of it as she glanced about the room. "But, IDK maybe you should like...wait outside or something. Isn't that what the other babysitters do?"

"Uk, you probably would wear someone else's underwear if you could. There is nothing creativity about hand-me-downs. But you're right, there is totally a lot of imagination going on here. Like, you're imagining a world were you are like....important or something." That sounded good, right? Ug, she hated getting into all these wordy fights with ugly people. Why couldn't they just go crawl back into the holes they came out of?

Amy/Ginger

"Wow, you don't know anything about babysitting, do you?" Amy remarked before taking another sip. Then again, considering her gazillion-dollar clothes, Ginger had probably never babysat in her life. Which was probably a good thing, given how incompetent she seemed.

She couldn't help but laugh at the other girl's last comments, attempting a slow clap as best she could with a bottle in hand. "And apparently you've been imagining a world in which that actually made sense! That was... I don't even know."
