As much as Graham wanted to say that he'd never miss pack life, he could never quite say the words. He sometimes missed his pack... especially Sigmund. They had a rough go of things for a few years, but it was hard to shake feelings for someone when you had such a deep ... Well, he wasn't sure what it was that they'd had. But Graham wasn't the best type of man for a pack. He didn't get along with Hunter at all, and honestly? He hardly got along with any of the other wolves.

So he took off on his own after he and Sigmund had decided to part ways once and for all. They always fell back together, so it was easier to just leave. And he found another wolf who he ended up traveling with sometimes. They tracked hunters who tracked their kind. They'd saved a lot of packs, and killed some hunters in their day, but what had to be done had to be done in Graham's opinion.

When he caught wind of the Cold Water pack being in trouble, he couldn't push down the familiar feelings of protectiveness. That was his pack, even if he wasn't actively there or a part of it. Two days later, and he was at Sigmund's door knocking. When a young man with tossled hair answered, Graham arched a brow.

"Who the fuck are you?" he asked the boy.

Casey just sort of blinked before he furrowed his brow and wet his lips. He hadn't expected that sort of greeting from the stranger at all.

"Um, my name's Casey, who are you?" he said in return.

"Where's Sigmund?" Graham asked as he pushed the human aside. It was still Sigmund's home. He could feel it... And mell the other wolf, too.

"She likes you," Casey told Sigmund honestly. "She likes you a lot. She's definitely okay with it."

He carried his things out before he went back inside to eat two slices of pizza. He got full so easily, and after he drank some water he was pretty set. He went to wash his hands before he glanced back and over his shoulder at Sigmund.

"It's my Dad who doesn't like you," he added with a cute grin, "But I don't really like him so it doesn't matter."

"My dad would have loved you," Sigmund said with a mild laugh. It was true. The man would have been incredibly happy to think that Sigmund had found someone like Casey, someone that made him so happy.

He headed out to the car after finishing off the pizza and got in. The drive was shorter than Sigmund would have liked and when they arrived, he glanced around for Graham's truck, half wishing that this visit had been some sort of hallucination.

Casey couldn't help but be a little uneasy. While what Sigmund had said put him at ease, the idea of Graham and Sigmund was still very fresh in his mind. He followed Sigmund up the porch and into the house, and he wasn't at all surprised to see Wendell was getting a room ready for them. Graham was in the study, speaking with Hunter in private, and Casey couldn't hear a word that they were saying. The atmosphere of the house was heavy, though.

Regardless of how worried Wendell was about the whole situation, he was always happy to have more people in the main house. Wendell was one of those individuals who gained energy through interacting with people, especially his family. "Hello, Casey!" He said brightly as he came down the stairs to greet them both. "Good to see you again, though I'm sorry it's under such frightening circumstances. Graham isn't usually so concerned about hunters, but this one seems especially talented at wrecking havoc."

"Hello Wendell," Casey said back, and he couldn't help but smile.

He'd barely gotten to see the real Wendell before he and Sigmund had left the haven. Wen had been missing, and when he'd come back Hunter had been taking care of the wolf in their room and Casey hadn't seen a whole lot of him.

"It's good to see you doing so well, how have you been?"

"I've been better than the last time you two were up here," he beamed. He loved having people to take care of. He knew he made Sigmund a little uncomfortable though, so he kept their conversation brief. "Towels upstairs in the closet by your room. Extra blankets in the chest at the foot of the bed."

Sigmund hated that Wendell could tell how weird it felt around him, how much the man reminded him of his father. But he was relieved when he left.

Wendell was easily Casey's favorite packmate of Sigmund's. He was so friendly and easy to talk to, and he made Casey feel so welcome. That meant a lot to Casey, especially in an environment like the haven.

"Are there other humans here, or is it just me?" he asked Sigmund as he took a hold of his boyfriend's hand so that they could head upstairs and get settled. "I didn't see any the last time I was here, I mean... Not that I'd know for sure, but you know."

"There's Jocelin," he said as he ran through the long list of current residents of Wolf Haven. "There was a young man, Campbell, who was a human, but he did something very foolish and went to be bitten by an old mutt. He's lucky to be alive, not everyone survives a bite, especially from someone as far gone as that wolf was. He just wanted to be a wolf so badly after living here, I suppose." Sigmund hadn't approved, but there hadn't been anything anyone could do to stop it. Campbell had planned and executed it all by himself.

Casey hadn't met Jocelin, but now he wanted to. He kind of liked the idea of not being the only human around, of course he didn't realize that Jocelin use to hunt Sigmund's kind.

"Oh," he said after a moment, taking in all that Sigmund had said about Campbell. "You wouldn't ever want me to be like you?" he asked quietly.

"Even if I did, changing you would risk losing you and nothing is worth that. So it's fortunate that I'm very happy with you just as you are." He led them upstairs, kind of hoping to avoid running into Graham again this evening.

Once upstairs, he sat down on the end of the bed and kicked off his shoes. "Do you want to be a werewolf?" He supposed it was a two way street.

Casey slipped out of his shoes and went to stand in front of the foot of the bed after he'd closed the door behind them. He considered the question, and let out a quiet sigh.

"I don't know," he admitted after a moment. "I mean - it's... Intriguing. But I think I'd be too afraid to really go through with it. When you shifted that one time... It looked so painful, did it hurt?" he asked as he lifted a hand to gently touch the side of Sigmund's face, though he stayed put standing for now.

Sigmund nodded slowly. "It always hurts a little, but it gets better over time. You're so laid back that I can't imagine you fighting it too hard. When you don't fight it, it comes more easily." Not that he was encouraging Casey not to be afraid. If that's what kept him from seeking out some crazy old mutt to turn him into a werewolf, then that was fine by Sigmund.

"I'd support you no matter what you decided to do, you know. But I'd be devastated if I thought you wanted to risk your life to be a werewolf just because you imagined that I wanted it that way."

Casey moved to sit down on the edge of the bed with Sigmund, and he let one of his legs move to slip up beneath himself as he got comfortable. The other leg stayed dangling off of the edge of the mattress, and he chewed on his lower lip as his hand slipped into one of Sigmund's.

"I think it'd be a really huge decision and I'm not even anywhere near thinking about something like that right now," he said honestly. "I kind of like being who I am. And I really like that you like who I am. I wouldn't want that to change."

"Now it sounds like I'd dump you if you ended up a werewolf." He laughed a little and let his body lie back on the bed while his feet stayed on the floor. He laced his fingers over his stomach. "You know that wouldn't happen either."

Well, Graham had brought up all sorts of issues, but Sigmund supposed they'd always been there under the surface. He could smell the man's scent in the house, mingling with the rest of the pack.

"Yeah, I know," Casey said with a half smile before he shifted to lay down on top of Sigmund, wiggling his way in close. "How come you never told me about him?" he asked after a moment, meaning Graham. "Was it a really bad... break up - do you guys even have break ups, I mean I don't know how packs work all that well. There's probably always some sort of a bond there, I imagine... I don't know."

"I didn't tell you because I didn't expect to ever see him again and I didn't know how to bring it up." And he didn't want to sound forlorn when he talked about it because he didn't want Casey getting the wrong impression. Granted, not talking about it had given him the wrong impression too.

Slinging his arms up and over Casey's body, resting against his back, Sigmund tried to think of something to say in response to Casey seeking clarification about him and Graham. "We have break ups, yeah. It usually happens when we're younger though. And wolves have dated humans before--it's not completely out of the ordinary." He didn't really elaborate on the specifics of his and Graham's break up. Even though it was mutual, it hadn't exactly been pretty.

Casey couldn't help but notice that just about every pack mate of Sigmund's he'd met were romantically linked to anther pack mate. As far as he knew, he was the only human dating a wolf in the pack - save from Campbell who'd Sigmund had brought up earlier. But he was a wolf, now, too.

"You really don't mind that I'm not like you?" he asked, tipping his head up to look at Sigmund as he let their ankles tangle up together. "What if Graham wanted you back?"

"Graham is a good person, but he wanted to be dominant. That's a very important thing to a werewolf. It's a huge deal. When one wolf cannot concede to being the less powerful, the relationship gets messy and it gets cruel and miserable. Graham doesn't want me back and I don't want him back." There would always be a spark, but that would never mean that Sigmund would be foolish enough to go back to that place with the man. Especially not now that he'd seen how good it could be with someone else.

"The last person I want to be in a relationship with is myself," he laughed.

Casey closed his eyes and dipped his head down to tuck it beneath Sigmund's chin. He very much liked that Sigmund was more dominant than he was. Casey found security in it, and it was a huge turn on. If Sigmund wanted someone to be submissive, then Casey felt pretty secure in the fact that he could be that someone. It wasn't as if Sigmund pushed him around, it was just... The dynamic of their relationship was the way that it was. Casey was submissive, and Sigmund was dominant.

"I like that you're dominant," he said softly with a smile. "It's pretty hot."

"I'm built to get my way," he said almost darkly. But of course it wasn't too dark, tinged always by the spark of humor that underlined so many things about Sigmund.

After a moment, a thought occurred to him. "Do you have any exes that I should be worried about?" Turnabout was fairplay, he supposed. He may as well get his own seething jealousy out of the way right now.

"Worried about?" Casey asked curiously as he opened his eyes and tipped his head back up so that he could look up at Sigmund. "Like, in what way? In a ... I'd get back with one of them way? No," he said with a shake of his head and a faint laugh. "Nothing that felt even close to this, to what I have with you. Nothing to be worried about at all. You've ruined me for everyone else in the world."

"Missing accomplished," he mused triumphantly aloud. His hand smoothed over Casey's hair and down his back. "If I ever decided to move away, would it be too much to ask you to come with me?" Sigmund had been considering his career and how limited it really was in Coldwater. Now seemed like the best time to talk about it just because with Graham in the house, bringing back all sorts of memories, Sigmund recalled why it was he felt like he could leave in the first place.

"I'd go with you," Casey said without a second's hesitation. He pressed a kiss to Sigmund's chin, then his mouth as he mumbled, "I can play the violin anywhere as long as you're there."

It seemed a little crazy, to love someone so much that he'd give up so much for them. But Sigmund was special, and Casey hadn't ever felt so loved in his entire life before. Not like this.

Just talking about the option of traveling somewhere else set Sigmund more at ease. He liked to think that he had the freedom to go somewhere else if he wanted. In the long run, he wouldn't want to leave his pack. If he had, it would have happened a long time ago and then he never would have met Casey and that would have been a shame.

"Still hungry," he mumbled with a sigh and knew that he was going to have to venture downstairs to grab some more food. His stomach grumbled to reiterate that realization.

Casey smiled in amusement, and he brushed a kiss against Sigmund's mouth before he slid off of him and settled against the bed with one of his arms tucked beneath the pillows.

"Go get something to eat then, I think I might take a nap," he said softly. "Are you going to go for a run? Will you wake me up when you get back if you do?"
