Logan was steering clear of Joshua, as much as he could, anyway. No matter how much he'd grown to care for Moon, when it came to Joshua there was always a lingering connection that he just couldn't shake and it made him feel guilty. So in the end, it was just best to avoid him as much as possible. He kind of got the idea that Josh felt the same way, too. Out of all the wolves in the pack, Josh's was the one he could feel a connection to on a level that he knew was just different. He hated it. But now, a bigger connection was building with Moon.

The boy was doing well enough with his shifts and he was learning to control his wolf that he didn't have to be locked up anymore. He still had to stick close to the main house, though. There was just no way around that. Logan would go to Seattle on Thursdays and he'd be back every Sunday morning. It was getting harder and harder to leave Moon behind, that was for sure, but he had his job at the tattoo shop.

It was Sunday morning and he'd just pulled up. He could feel that Joshua was on a run and he frowned as he glanced towards the woods. Andrew was around somewhere, too. With a sigh, he turned and headed up the porch steps to slip inside and he went straight for the kitchen where Moon usually was by this time, helping Wendell.

Moon especially liked it when it was just him and Logan. He could be selfish when it came to the other young man because he hadn't bonded with anyone as strongly as Logan. He was his rescuer and that meant a great deal to him.

"All right," he said as he tucked the book away and got up. He took his hand because touch was irresistable and once they were out on the porch, he sat very very close to him, nearly on his lap.

Logan slipped out of his shoes and socks before he settled down on the porch swing, and he tugged Moon down along with him. He looped his arms around the boy's waist and brushed a kiss to the top of his head before he closed his eyes and sighed.

"You know how I found you and helped you, brought you here? I kind of did the same for Joshua in a way. So I'm the first wolf he connected with, and sometimes that makes things strained between us."

Moon shook his head. "It's not because you were first. You connect with people because you are meant to." He'd picked up on the tension quickly enough and could easily match it with how he felt about Logan. It was there between Logan and Josh too.

He nudged even closer and sighed. "If you want to be with him; it's okay. I can share." He was jealous, but could be satisfied if he knew Logan was happy. "And if I could run with him and be his friend." Because it made sense that if Logan liked Joshua, then Moon would like him too. He was so desperate to belong that any company sounded good. "And as long as you still kiss me." He grinned and crawled onto his lap, straddling him.

Logan wasn't sure what to say to all of that. He honestly hadn't expected Moon to be so sweet about it all, so... Understanding. It took him by surprise, but he liked it.

"I'm not sure that would work - he's got Andrew," Logan pointed out as he pressed his mouth against the hollow of Moon's throat. "And I have you - and it'd just be far too complicated. Don't you think?"

It wouldn't be fair. How Robin, Haben, Sullivan, and Austin all dealt with it - and now Noah was somewhere in there though he wasn't sure how the lion fit, it was just a feeling he got of attraction between Haben and him, really... he didn't know. Nor did he know how Ever, Vaughn, and Jacob did it - especially with Jacob having a baby, now.

"Andrew isn't a wolf," Moon pointed out plainly, having a good grasp on the idea of 'other.' He didn't dislike Andrew, hadn't spent enough time with him to dislike him, but he thought the man was terribly out of place. "It would work. It's not complicated at all. What would be complicated about it? I'm sure that Joshua would like me if he gave me a chance. That's why I wanted to go running with him."

"That doesn't mean that he and Joshua don't have their own connection, or that they don't love one another. Andrew wouldn't understand, that's the biggest issue - he's not like us and he wouldn't understand. He feels that Joshua needs to be loyal to him. You and I, we feel loyalty to each other and to the pack. Josh does too, but he's conflicted. That's why it's complicated," Logan explained as he slid his hands through Moon's hair.

The hand in his hair was distracting and comforting. He shut his eyes and sighed. He'd lived so long just trying to survive from day to day, not knowing what was wrong with him, that he had a good filter for things that didn't seem to matter.

But he also understood the feeling of jealousy. "Los seros humanos son complicados." It was almost as if he didn't feel human himself anymore. Sure, he was human-shaped, but his life had changed completely.

	Moon's little remark caused Logan to arch a brow and he tipped his head to the side curiously. "And what does that mean? I got human and complicated, the rest is lost on me," he said with a faint smile. He had to admit that now he was debating shifting with Moon and running off into the woods to find Joshua. "Just that they are." Meaning that humans were complicated. Even if Andrew was a mage, he was still more human than they were. Maybe it was a way of dealing with his kidnapping and what had happened to him. It was comforting to divide himself from the human race. He needed the distance from it.

"Wendell and Hunter would never share." The thought just occurred to him. In the short time that he'd known the two of them, it was easy to see that no one would ever be able to get in between that pair. "But they've been together forever, right?" Not true. Wendell had been gone from the pack for 8 years and while there had always been a spark there, Wen was much younger than Hunter and had only just acted on it when he'd returned after so long.

"No, Hunter and Wendell would never share," Logan agreed softly. "And no, they haven't been together forever. Wen went away for a long while, and then he came back. That's when things started. And he only came back a few years ago," he added as he closed his eyes. "Some of us can share, but most of the time it's a one on one thing. Like Pirate and Vance - they'll never share. Neither will Emmy or Basil. And I'm sure if anyone even looked at Casey, Sigmund would shift and eat them for dinner. I guess it just depends on the wolves and what connections they make, and how they choose to deal with those connections."

He needed a sense of belonging and he was already scheming ways to maybe break Joshua and Andrew up. Little did he know that actions like that would make Joshua dislike him even more. "No, that's not - Joshua is actually very dominant. He has a dominate side and it's hard for him to push that down for Andrew because Andrew has a dominant side, too. I couldn't just take Joshua. He'd have to want it, he'd have to want both of us," Logan explained.

In all honesty, he felt that the dominant issue was going to eventually create a huge rift between Andrew and Joshua if they didn't deal with it soon.

Hunter had explained a little about dominant and submissive types. Moon had naturally been afraid of the alpha, but once he got to know him, he'd felt an unending loyalty to him. Every part of his body and instincts knew that he was the leader. His boss and protector.

But the finer nuances of it escaped him and he wrinkled his nose. "I'm not dominant," he thought out loud. He needed to work things out vocally. "It feels like you are when we kiss. Like maybe I want you to push me down on the ground and be on top of me." Joshua just felt threatening but alluring. It was because he hadn't learned to control his alpha qualities.

Logan was the type of wolf who could be both dominant and submissive, it all really just depended on his mood and the other wolf he was with. He wanted to dominate Moon because that was just the connection they had, but with Joshua he wanted to submit. It was strange and sometimes unendingly frustrating. He had a feeling that Joshua could sense that in him, and that the idea that he could get Logan to submit if he wanted was dangerous because he'd like it far too much. It was one of the reasons why they just kept their distance, at least Logan figured.

"Sometimes I do push you to the ground," Logan laughed. "Joshua is more dominant than I am. Do you really think you'd be able to handle that from both of us?"

This talk was going to get him into trouble if he wasn't careful. It was all ready making him want things he knew he shouldn't want.

Moon popped up onto his feet. "You don't think I could handle the both of you? Wendell has been teaching me a few things. He says that the strongest branches yield. Do you know what that means? It means that my power is the way I can let others have the control they need." Wendell had easily seen the tendency in him and so was trying to help him find his place in the pack.

He held out his arms and spun around, looking up at the sky until he got dizzy and fell on purpose. "Take me for a run?" He begged.

Logan couldn't help but smile. He appreciated that Wendell had taken Moon under his wing a bit. If it hadn't been for Hunter's help, Moon never would have been able to recover as much as he had. And if not for Wendell, he wouldn't understand the nature of a pack as well. In many ways, Wendell was definitely a teacher for the new pack members.

"You wanna go for a run?" he asked as he arched a brow. He figured they should stay clear of the woods until Joshua was done... But the woods were big enough for all three of them, weren't there?

It was going to be impossible to keep Moon out of the forest, but he looked innocent and pliable enough as he nodded.

He still needed help letting go of his wolf. Moving up close to Logan, he started tugging him in the direction of the woods, gentle, but urgent. He tried to focus on Logan's smell, something that always got him going and he leaned forward to press his face in against his chest to breathe him in.

Logan allowed himself to be tugged upwards and pulled towards the forest. A quiet laugh escaped him as he dipped his head down to brush a kiss against the top of Moon's head and he looped his arms around the smaller wolf momentarily before he finally pulled away to slip out of his shirt. He'd taken his shoes and socks off when he'd come into the house so he didn't have to worry about them.

As they drew nearer to the forest, he could feel that Joshua was still out there. Shifted. Running. It made his heart beat a little faster and once they found a tree to set their things by, he shed his jeans and then let go to bring the shift on. It hurt like always, but by now it was the good kind of hurt that Logan craved more than anything. Soon enough a black wolf with rich brown eyes stood in his place and he shook his entire body a bit, as if he'd been wet, and he waited for Moon.

Moon's shift was slower and far more difficult. But he didn't fight it mentally. Unfortunately his body was still not used to just letting go. When it took him, he whined, the sound far more canine than human.

Finally, he was a furry heap, a mottled brown and tan color, almost coppery red in the sunlight. He was lankier than most, a different breed of wolf mixed with the human dna. Getting up shakily, he greeted Logan with a submissive sound, a whine-like growl before he turned and trotted happily into the woods.

Logan liked the way Moon looked, shifted and in human form. He snuffed and then let out a quick bark before he darted after Moon, taking the lead easily and making his way through the underbrush and grass. The smell of the dirt and forest was like home and he bounded through it happily until he caught Joshua's scent. He slowed to a stop, panting as he turned to look back at Moon just as the other wolf caught up to him. He growled and put his nose to the ground as his tail swished from side to side, as if to say to Moon, "do you smell that"?

He was learning about the heirarchy, but he was still innocent as to some of its negative consequences. So he hardly knew that it would be a bad idea to go traipsing off to look for Josh. That's exactly what he did, finding his balance and strength and barrelling off in that direction.

After a little ways of running, he found Joshua and thought he was sneaking up on him, but the skinny white wolf easily had the drop on him. He thought the boy had followed him on purpose and he was going to teach him about following orders. Wheeling on him, he bared his teeth and lunged at him. This was not play and he was not going to hold back.

Logan knew exactly what Moon was up to, and Logan took off after him. It was surprisingly hard to keep up with the younger wolf when he was on a mission, but Logan managed to, and it was very lucky for Moon that he did. He came up on the pair just as Joshua wheeled around and he leapt in front of Moon and set Joshua with a look and a low growl in warning. It wasn't right to attack a young wolf who didn't understand the way of things fully, and it wasn't right to attack one that was just trying to play.

Joshua snarled mightily, thinking that it was his place to show the newbie whatfor. He was not about to back down and the fact that Logan was defending him spiked his fury off the charts. Maybe in human form it would have been easier to reign it all back. He thought he'd made his peace with the situation, but apparently there was still tension there about it.

With a swift bite to Logan's front paw, he was not ashamed to draw blood. It shocked Moon into realizing that this was serious and he immediately dropped away from play mode and tucked his tail tightly between his legs.

When it came right down to it, Logan would do whatever was needed to protect Moon. However, Logan was seasoned enough to see through certain situations and the human side of him knew that maybe launching into a full on fight with Joshua wasn't the answer. Instead he decided to submit in hopes that it would appeal to Joshua's dominant side as well as the alpha qualities in him. Maybe it was a bit of a seduction on Logan's part as well, because he was sure that Josh just wouldn't be able to deny that feeling and that it would lead to other things.

So instead of fighting back, he yelped and lowered his head before he laid down and he glanced back at Moon with a snort as if to tell him to do the same. Two submissive wolves at once was better than one any day to someone like Joshua, Joshua just didn't know it yet because it had't ever happened to him. He'd always been led around by Hunter or Sigmund and never treated as the leader himself.

The reaction startled but satisfied Joshua. He stared down at the two of them, letting his heart rate drop to calm. The energy thrummed between all three of them and Joshua cocked his head to one side, nose working to smell both of them. Nothing like this had happened to him before. Yes, he had cowed people into doing what he wanted, but this was the way they'd treat an Alpha and he felt like he'd come home to something his body had known all along but his brain hadn't caught up with yet.

Moon rolled all the way over onto his back, belly up, the picture of contrition. Squinting at him, Joshua decided that he could forgive the wolf if he just stayed like that all the time. Turning his attention to Logan, he sniffed at him, pressing the warmth of his nose against his neck.
