Prelude for JLI
Max scowled at the reports. Phantoms, Vampires, Robots, Monsters. A veritable Saturday Morning Cartoon full of trochee-termed cliched freaks. And not a helpful hero in sight. So many of them didn't even take his calls these days. Almost made one want to go back into the business.

...It really did almost make one want to go back into the business. So many of the younger set seemed to get along with Cindy. Maybe they'd be more willing to be civil in order to deal with deal with problems like this.

"Sweetie? I need your Rolodex."
"Dad, I don't have a Rolodex. I have an iPhone."
"Same thing, sweetie."

And the messages start going out.

"Hey, you guys are here." Mercury says, trying not to add the world 'finally' into his sentence. Not everyone had super-speed, but he was finally starting to understand Irey's gripe about the world being far too slow.

"I've been over the surrounding six blocks ten times and I don't see anyone that looks like who we're looking for." he says.

"It's quiet. Too quiet. Which means we should get ready for there to be a problem soon." he says.

	Yes, something was definitely wrong. And that something was heading straight for the team. All the sensors and such things being employed would detect multiple presences incoming. The most notable was Ogre, who was bulldozing his way down the street and toward the team. (Reply to this)(Parent)
