Happy birthday Mo! (Backdated to August 1st) @ 09:35 pm

[info]greengenes:

It was her big sister's birthday. Mickey loved her sister, even if she hadn't seen her in awhile. Also, with everything that had happened recently in her life, with Nic's death, she needed to get her mind off of things and she always loved spending time with Mo.

Mickey made her way to Mo's apartment with Chinese food, a small cake, and a bottle of her Mom's good strawberry vodka that she swiped from the liquor cabinet.

For her present, Mickey had gotten Mo both The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under on DVD, and a plushie of Jake from the second movie.

She knocked on the door, grinning from ear to ear for the first time in weeks.

Prelude for JLI @ 08:48 pm

[info]dc_parent:

Max scowled at the reports. Phantoms, Vampires, Robots, Monsters. A veritable Saturday Morning Cartoon full of trochee-termed cliched freaks. And not a helpful hero in sight. So many of them didn't even take his calls these days. Almost made one want to go back into the business.

...It really did almost make one want to go back into the business. So many of the younger set seemed to get along with Cindy. Maybe they'd be more willing to be civil in order to deal with deal with problems like this.

"Sweetie? I need your Rolodex."
"Dad, I don't have a Rolodex. I have an iPhone."
"Same thing, sweetie."

And the messages start going out.

The Big Finale @ 09:18 pm

[info]dc_misc:

The city of Star City looked deserted. The citizens had either fled or had been turned into black lanterns. At the heart of the city was the entity known as Nekron. Nekron used the city as his base as his black lanterns ravaged the Earth.

The black lanterns increased their numbers each day and the power levels of the black lantern battery increased with each person that died.

Soon Nekron would have enough power to obliterate all life on this planet.

The Battle For Oa @ 09:36 pm

[info]green_lantern:

They appeared out of nowhere in space above Oa. The element of surprise was with them and for a brief moment there were no black lanterns to be seen.

"Alright boys and girls, it's time to do this. We win here or the universe dies."

No pressure at all.

The Quest for Orange @ 11:16 am

[info]green_lantern:

After they were done checking on Rose's grandmother and brother and dealing with the Black Lanters, Rose and Dex regrouped with the other lanterns. Then it was time to go after that bastard Larfleeze. Dex had wanted another shot at him since Christmas when the bastard was at the North Pole.

The trip to Okaara where Larfleeze was rumored to be holed up was quiet. The uneasy truce between the colors didn't encourage talking. The less words said the better. It only took a few to start a fight and right now it was the last thing they needed.

"Anyone got any ideas?" Dex asked as they approached Okaara.

Meanwhile, at the Hall of Justice... @ 03:23 pm

[info]tiny_tornado:

Years ago, the Hall of Justice had been the Earthbound headquarters of the Justice League, the compliment to an orbiting satellite portion.  It had eventually been discontinued as a headquarters, but the museum portion remained and much of the equipment was still present, usable as a back-up location.  Located in Washington DC, where the All-Star Squadron had once had their own headquarters, it remained a popular tourist destination.

Traya had spent a lot of time here, once upon a time, when her father had been damaged and stored in the computer system.

It was to here that she and Michael had come, to get the warning out to everyone else.

The headquarters portion was dusty, but Traya whisked it all away with a couple of well placed gusts and got the computer systems running.

"This is Whirlwind of the Young Justice League, to anyone reachable by this message.  Firestorm and I have encountered a zombie version of Kid Flash.  We defeated him, but we don't... we don't know if there are more of them...   YJLA HQ is wrecked.  We are requesting anyone available converge upon the Hall of Justice... repeat..."

'Twas The Night Before Christmas @ 06:24 pm

[info]lantern_rogues:

(Takes place on Christmas Eve)

Larfleeze had been a very good boy this year. And, as he had been told from his time spent on Earth, good boys and girls got presents from Santa Claus at Christmas time. He had waited very patiently all year, working on his Christmas list. And it was a very long list indeed. But, he had been good this year, so he deserved each and every present.

And so, Larfleeze made the journey from the Vega System to Earth, to the North Pole to Santa Claus's village. He flew straight into his office, slamming his list on the desk.

"I have been very good this year," he said to Santa. "I DEMAND that you give me all of my presents! You have to!"

Giving Thanks @ 05:10 pm

[info]dc_holiday:

"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." JFK

In America today is a day for being thankful for the things in people's lives. Today was a day to celebrate family, friends, prosperity and health with food, family and friends. It is a time to reflect on what is important us and to recognize the gratitude we hold for having those things in our lives.

Oh, to be a kid again.... @ 01:17 am

[info]dc_baddie:

Grandma Sunshine was in the kitchen, baking goodies for her grandchildren, who were all nicely taking their naps in the little bedroom that she'd tucked them in.

She would have to leave them to run a couple of errands in a little while, and she'd arranged for some babysitters for her super-powered kiddies, but she couldn't wait to spend the whole afternoon with her new grandkids.

Meanwhile, the YJLA would find themselves waking up...and finding something was different.

Cookies, anyone? @ 12:34 am

[info]dc_baddie:

Mary Lou Sunshine had always wanted grandchildren.

Unfortunately for her, her son would never leave the basement long enough to meet a nice girl and get married and lovely little babies for her to spoil.

Still, she wanted grandchildren. So she was going to get some grandchildren.

And who better to have as grandkids than those nice little boys and girls in the Justice League?

Grandma Sunshine walked right up to Young Justice League headquarters, a basket of goodies in hand. She rang the doorbell, a smile on her face.

The Walking Wounded (open) @ 12:26 am

[info]green_lantern:

There weren't many places on Dex's body that didn't hurt. The fight had been a long and brutal one, but in the end Dex had won and had two thousand dollars for his efforts. He had taken a beating in the process and he was sure that he had some broken ribs and some broken fingers, but they were injuries he was quite familiar with. The gash on his head had stopped bleeding by the time he returned home, but the water from the shower had reopened it a bit. Thankfully Dex had discovered that super glue would seal a wound.

The heat of the shower had helped take some of the pain away for a little bit, but it returned not long after he stepped out. Bruises were already starting to form all over his body, but like everything else they would go away with time. He was used to various parts of his body being bruised and beat up. He wrapped a towel around his waist, stepped out of the bathroom and headed for his room. All he wanted to do was lay down on his bed and not move for a day or two.

Labor Day - YJLA @ 07:09 pm

[info]dc_holiday:

The weather was absolutely perfect for holding a cookout.

Tables had been placed on the roof of headquarters and the large grill fired up to get nice and hot. Burgers, hot dogs, sausage, ribs, corn on the cob, pasta salad, salad and fruit salad were just some of the food available to eat. Soda, water, fruit juice and other beverages were on ice.

The YJLA worked as a team and as a family to prepare the food. When they were ready, they carried it all outside and started their celebration.

It was a day of rest and relaxations for those who put their lives on the line for others.

Meeting the Natives @ 02:42 pm

[info]green_lantern:

It wasn't something Dex would have thought on his own, but Maura had insisted on him meeting the Young Justice League. He had learned about the League through other green lanterns when he was on Oa and heard many stories about their bravery and actions. He had hoped to get assigned to Earth and be able to fight along side of them.

He changed into his uniform and headed over there.

He was undaunted as he approached their headquarters.
