Welcome to Omega

Urdrex checks his weapon again and watches from his position next to Cyrus as the ship pulls into the fire red planet that is Omega. Urdrex has been here a thousand times, and somehow, the place never becomes any more pleasant. In fact, it really only seems to get worse. He'd rather not take the kids, but the Elusive Man wants to see all of them at once, all together.

He will call everyone to the Normandy's War Room while Cyrus getting the ship docked and ready to go.

"Okay, listen up. Some of you may not have been here before, so you need to know some things. First, keep the young ones, Cyrus and Mar'i, in sight at all times. Especially Mar'i. In fact, you'd do well to watch out, too, Katima. There are slavers here who wouldn't mind tryin' to capture and sell all of you off to harems on planets that make this one seem like a resort." Urdrex says, checking his weapons for the seventh time in two minutes. Anyone who knows him knows that this is the equivalent of him pacing the floors nervously.

"Go to the bar, ask for Aria, get into the Holosuite, and listen to the Elusive Man. Again, if you see a Green Lantern, do /not/ attract its attention. You see a Blue Lantern, do /not/ attract its attention.

Anybody got any questions before you move out?" he asks.

Aria T'Loak sits on a plush chair, elegantly smoking a death-stick as she watches the team approach. The Rannian catches her eye first, but Daxamite holds her attention. He would make a fabulous killer, if harnessed well.

When they have come close enough, they are escorted into Aria's presence. None of them are asked to remove any weapons that they may have, though Aria herself does not appear to have any either.

"Welcome to Omega. I assume you are the group the Elusive Man has sent to use my holo-room? He's paying a hefty fee for it, so take all the time you need. But I'll ask for something in return from you.

The Daxamite will perform a service for me at the time and place of my choosing, no questions asked." she says, pointing at Alerron.

	"I accept your terms as presented, Ms. T'Loak, though I reserve the right to execute this matter in the time and manner I find most expedient." Alerron says. Aria smiles, taking an extra-long puff of her death-stick before speaking.

"Your conditions are accepted as presented, Mr. Yat. My man, Garrus, will lead you to the holo-suite. The information for your task will be provided to you before you depart Omega." she says.

She nods curtly at a Turian male to her left, who gestures to the group to follow him.

Minutes later, they are all sitting inside the holo-suite.

"When you're ready to speak to your person, press the green button, and it'll make the call." Garrus says. Then he departs the room.

	Katima simply crossed her arms over her chest. She was not happy about this turn of events, both the request and Alerron agreeing to it. This entire adventure was getting more and more uncomfortable as time passed. It occurred to Kat that she was cranky. She dropped her arms to her sides and took a breath. Once the button is pressed, a holographic field encircles the group. In the center of the field is the shadowed, green-eyed form of the man they have come to know as the Elusive Man. His eyes take in each in turn and there is a long moment of silence before he speaks in that modulated tone.

"Good to see that all of you chose to meet with me. I know that you have questions, but I must present my information to you first.

This universe has existed alongside many others for billions of years in harmony. Rarely have we forayed into other universes for any reason, unless we were attacked without cause. I tell you now that this time has come to an end.

A race of beings called the Reavers have set their sights on this universe and have begun capturing humanoids of all species. The seek to learn our strengths and weaknesses and incorporate them into their own people. If they succeed, they would become unstoppable." the Elusive Man says, showing the group a picture of bi-pedal, armored humanoid of sorts that none of them would be familiar with. It's head is covered by a helmet with several ruby-red eyes, and the armor is dark as pitch.

"The Reavers have been attacking human colonies for hundreds, maybe thousands of years, waiting for the opportunity to strike. It is likely you have never heard of these beings; this is because all official information of their atrocities is being covered up and erased by beings who have brokered a deal with them.

The Maltusians, also known as the Guardians of the Universe. The leaders of the Green Lantern Corps." the Elusive Man says.

Because the idea that people who are supposed to be the good guys being connected to something so sinister bothered him. "I mean, I heard you don't trust the sir. But this is really big. 	Aleea felt her jaw go slack in surprise. As far as she'd been aware, the Guardians had been nothing but a force for good, though one did hear rumors sometimes about their mistakes... Alerron's reaction is far different from Katima's.

"You lie! My father would never willing serve the Guardians if they were as you describe! I have known Green Lanterns, and they have carried themselves with honor and dignity. You cast aspersions on men and women who put their lives on the line while you hide the shadows!" Alerron yells.

He's very close to walking out of this room right now and seeking a cure for his mother in a different way.

The Elusive Man expects the questions and confusion from everyone; he knew that they would not believe him simply because he told them so. Alerron Yat's reaction is also expected. The young man's father was the wielder of Ion, until recently.

"I understand your desire to disbelieve, Alerron. Many sons believe the best of their fathers, only to be disappointed in the end." the Elusive Man says, and for a moment, even through the voice modulator, one would almost hear something like sadness in the man's tone.

"Miss Grayson, I would say that it was, except that the Guardians have the ability to deny the Green Lanterns their power on several fronts. The Alpha Lanterns, and the Book of Oa being the major sources. They will never create a weapon they cannot control; look up the history of the Manhunters sometime and you'll see what I mean." he tells them.

The Elusive Man's gaze turns upon Cyrus, and he nods. "Yes, I didn't want to take the chance that the Lanterns might see you out or detain you. The Guardians would love to find and silence me, but I have proven too...Elusive for their trackers to find. I would like to keep it that way." he says.

"Aleea Strange is right; sometimes, a team is needed that can go places and do things that more official sources cannot. I intend to take the fight to the Reavers, but the Green and Blue Lanters cannot be trusted, not until we know more.

Katima Sers, you have known and worked with the Green Lanterns, but there is corruption and complacency every where. Even within the Indigo Tribe. I offer each of you a chance to change the galaxy for the better. If you'll work with me, I can also give each of you that which I discussed previously.

Will you all hear what I have to say next or do you want to walk away wondering what might have been?" he asks.

	"I pretty much don't have a say in this," Cyrus says feeling a dark mood start to creep in. "I'm at their disposal and yours, Elusive Man. You know very well that..." That he's stuck pretty much. Corruption? Complacency? Katima was growing angry now. Henry. And Ava. Neither was corrupt or complacent. Indigo-1 was neither corrupt nor complacent. None of the Indigos were. They were a tribe apart. And this man who hides in shadows wishes to insult them, to insult her?

"YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT MY TRIBE!"

She swore at him, her language all clicks and vowel sounds as she started pacing near the door. She couldn't leave unless Alerron did, but at this point she wanted nothing more to do with this. She wasn't a protector. She was a bringer of mercy.

"You all misunderstand me. I am not saying every Green Lantern is aiding in this. Many Lanterns know nothing at all. The ones who learned of it were systematically executed to keep them from talking." Elusive Man says.

"I intend to expose this deception to the entire universe and bring the Guardians to account. You're all free to walk away at this moment, if you wish. Even you, Cyrus.

But if you stay, I ask that you be prepared to learn of things you might later believe were best left in the past, or buried with the people who knew them." he tells the assembled.

"Aleea. I am also given to believe that you were present during the recent Thanagarian Invasion. I would like your account of everything that happened, in detail. Leave nothing out, most especially those you worked with.

Perhaps there are other allies we can call upon to aid us when we least expect it."
