She Loves You @ 11:35 pm
rannsofaraway:
The Darkstar's ship arrived to chaos. A Thanagarian war-cruiser was in orbit around the Rannian colony would and what few defensive ships the Rannians had been able to field had already been blasted to scrap. The real fighting was going on on the surface and sky of the world, Rannian-soldiers in rocket packs dueling with Thanagarians on the wing. All this, the Darkstars could see from the bridge of their ship. "By the triple-suns..." Aleea breathed.

Dreams (Alerron) @ 08:16 pm
compassionate:
Alerron hadn't been sleeping, or at the very least not sleeping well. He didn't appear tired, but Katima could tell. He was restless in bed, moving about far more than was customary for him. Katima said nothing for a few days, waiting for the issue to resolve itself or for Alerron to come to her with what was troubling her, but he hadn't. Tonight, though, was different. Lying in bed, she watched Alerron as he readied to join her, her dark eyes studying his every move. "Beloved, what's wrong?"

Space pirates attack! (Darkstars) @ 10:20 pm
spacerthief:
She had been with the Blood Wings for a little over a year. A fun crew to run with really. They fought and partied hard. They didn't care that by her terms she was still a kid. But she was starting to hate the Captain. They barely got enough food to eat. They hadn't seen decent pay in a few months and Sher was convinced that the Captain was now clinically insane. Smuggling themselves onto a Cerberus ship to steal it? Just sounded like a very poorly thought out plan. She had tried to protest but had pretty much gotten cowed into it no matter how hard she tried to fight it. She had been pretty much forced to do it or get spaced. She didn't want to die like that so she was just going to have to hope she could ditch them and get the hell off that other ship. It took them thirty six hours to go through with the plan. She was helped out by a krogan who had a soft spot for the angry young Thangarian. He slipped her the weapons she loved and they just looked at each other knowing it was show time. The proximity alarms had gone off. "Let's rock and roll," the yellow skinned Captain barked pulling out her combat shotgun.

Entering Eden Prime @ 08:44 pm
dc_misc:
A few days after the battle at Iagos, the Elusive Man calls for the team's presence in the War Room as they Normandy II makes its way to the Eden Prime system. They're a bit behind schedule for his taste, but he likes the reports he received of their battle at Iaogs. They fought decently as a team and accounted themselves well in saving the children being held by the slavers. The Elusive Man has his people looking out for the Black Sun Mercenaries and their operations now; if necessary, he'll have some of his other operatives begin to destroy their operation. For now, the team needs to get back to work. ( Read more... )

Iagos Incoming! @ 07:13 pm
dc_misc:
The Normandy II enters the Iagos system, dropping out of hyperspace to reveal a green, blue and white planet that seems slightly larger than Earth, illuminated by a yellow sun. There is a sparse belt of asteroids surrounding the planet, and if one looks closely enough, an asteroid falls toward the planet in random areas now and again. The crew members immediately get to their stations in order to calculate a flight path, analyze data and prepare Cyrus with any thing he needs to maneuver through the field. Once the ship is through the asteroid belt, a summons is sent to each of member of the quintet, directing them to make their way to the Cargo Bay. Upon their arrival, Urdrex is waiting for them, along with five crew members who are each holding a Cerberus-logo admin suit, followed by black and red Cerberus body armor. Once everyone is accounted for, Urdrex will motion for everyone to take a suit. "You'll all wanna get dressed as the atmosphere here is hazardous. We're having some trouble getting the location of the mercenary base, so we may have to wait until we're closer to the planet before we can try again. The area where your special plant is is about forty human miles from the Mercenary Base. It's your choice on where you wanna start, but if those mercs are worth their salt at all, they're gonna have long-range scanners of some kind. We can all take the shuttle down and hope it's enough to keep us off their scanners until we get what you all need. Then we proceed to the base and hopefully pick up the kid." Urdrex says.

Welcome to Omega @ 08:56 pm
dc_misc:
Urdrex checks his weapon again and watches from his position next to Cyrus as the ship pulls into the fire red planet that is Omega. Urdrex has been here a thousand times, and somehow, the place never becomes any more pleasant. In fact, it really only seems to get worse. He'd rather not take the kids, but the Elusive Man wants to see all of them at once, all together. He will call everyone to the Normandy's War Room while Cyrus getting the ship docked and ready to go.
"Okay, listen up. Some of you may not have been here before, so you need to know some things. First, keep the young ones, Cyrus and Mar'i, in sight at all times. Especially Mar'i. In fact, you'd do well to watch out, too, Katima. There are slavers here who wouldn't mind tryin' to capture and sell all of you off to harems on planets that make this one seem like a resort." Urdrex says, checking his weapons for the seventh time in two minutes. Anyone who knows him knows that this is the equivalent of him pacing the floors nervously.
"Go to the bar, ask for Aria, get into the Holosuite, and listen to the Elusive Man. Again, if you see a Green Lantern, do /not/ attract its attention. You see a Blue Lantern, do /not/ attract its attention.
Anybody got any questions before you move out?" he asks.

dc_misc:
The man known only as the Elusive Man sits in his chair on the other side of the holographic relay projector, his features wreathed in shadow except for two glowing emerald green eyes. He watches young Cyrus navigate the controls of the Cerberus Ship Normandy II and admires the fact that the kid can handle it. That was good. After two billions credits worth of technological developments and upgrades, someone had best be able to fly that ship. "Cyrus, you'll be under Urdrex's command while you two are recruiting the rest of the team. Don't take any unnecessary chances, you two. Find the people in the dossiers and get them to Omega as soon as possible; we don't have time to waste. Another colony has just been hit and if we don't do something about this soon, the rest of the universe is in a lot of trouble. Are we clear?" the shadowed figure asks, sitting back in his chair.

nightstarrising:
It had been one of the hardest things that Mar'i had ever had to do, pointing out the faces of the guards that violated her to her cousin. Having Katima by her side helped, though, and made it easier. She couldn't stay on New Tamaran. There was nothing here for her anymore. Especially after what her aunt had put her and her family through. Mar'i didn't think that she could stay there and not think about what she had been forced to endure everyday. Mar'i stood there silently with Katima. They had been silent since her cousin had taken the guards away. Finally, after what seemed like hours, Mar'i spoke up. "Thank you," she said to Katima, "For staying with me."

Aftermath and Beginings. @ 04:54 pm
compassionate:
Katima had opted not to return to Earth. Something about the battle had made it clear to her that, while she loved the boys, that was not where she was meant to be. She was linked to Alerron; something in her heart told her that and so she sent away her friends and she herself stayed behind. The wounds she had sustained were painful, but not dire. She would be fine and the bruises would heal. Physical things were minor, compared to the feelings she was reading from people on New Tameran. She sought out Alerron. She could tell he was suffering. She could tell he was worrying about his sister.

I'll see you on the dark side of the moon @ 07:35 pm
bluelantern:
Backdated to May 28thHe waited until she was sleeping, until he could find Katima. Stuck in the Dreamtime the way he was, Avalon was all but helpless in that place. He couldn't leave for he was trapped, he couldn't move around in the Dreamtime due to being tied up.. but one thing that he could do was use his rather unique powers to find his lover and go to her through her dreams. Unable to control someone's dreams himself, Dreamwalking was always a risk for him. If he managed to walk into a nightmare, he could be hurt - it had happened in the past. He could only hope that Katima wasn't troubled while she slept. Not sure what situation he might find himself, he slipped into her dream and then hung back a bit, waiting to see what he might find.

To sleep, perchance to dream.... @ 09:03 am
lantern_rogues:
Malicor watches as Avalon falls asleep in his Earthly bed. He watches, though, from a place that none but Avalon would even be aware of. The Dreamtime. He waits until the boy is fully and soundly asleep and then goes after him... The chase is quick and easy. The Orange Lantern's ring allows him to draw the boy into a nightmare realm and from there, he doesn't have to work very hard to restrain him. Unlike many of those pesky people from Naltor, Avalon doesn't have the powers that they might in the Dreamtime. In fact, Malicor laughs over Avalon's bound body at the sheer ease of it all once it is all done. He does not put Avalon with all the rest of his captives, but instead puts him in a special place where he is hidden away. The next part isn't quite as easy. Avia Free is another of his Earth targets, yet she takes a bit more work. No doubt to her, she is simply having a bad dream where some unknown man is chasing her.. But eventually he captures her as well and locks her away with all of the rest of the Naltorians that he had captured. He will have use for her and them later.. Specifically he plans to drain their life force into his depleted rings. Avia has been chosen because of her extraordinary cosmic powers. Malicor had been surprised when he discovered her, but then came to the decision that she would make a perfect "cherry" to top off his ring recharging. He's fairly sure that her life-energy will repair his failing Star Sapphire ring. The last thing that he does, though, is a final blow to Henry's pride. It's meant to be that, at least. With Avalon and Avia locked away in the Dreamtime, he then sneaks into Avalon and Josh's room and takes something very important. Avalon's Blue Lantern ring. Oh the power that courses through him when he slips it onto his own hand and admired the shining blue bauble. He can't quite get it to function but that won't matter soon. He figures that it won't work until Avalon is dead... but it won't be long from now. He leaves the sleeping boy there to be found in the morning.. Ringless and unresponsive. If anyone were to examine Avia or Avalon, they will find that both simply sleep, but will not wake no matter what is done. As he retreats back tot he Dreamtime to hide and start recharging his rings, Malicor can't help but laugh. Henry Jordan will rue the day he crossed paths with Malicor! By the time this is all over, Henry will learn what true loss is.

Approaching New Tamaran @ 03:10 pm
lantern_kid:
Once Sodam Yat finally was done with his mission and could reply to Henry's message, he was on Earth in the matter of hours. A short time later, and they'd assembled their team. Lead by the Ion-powered Yat, the rest of the team was made up of Henry, Avalon, Katima, LifeForce, Jon Kent, the Free kids of Hope and Avia, and, of course, Alerron, son of Starfire and Yat. The plan was a simple one. There would be many Tamaranians unhappy with Blackfire's rule. Head down to the surface, take out Blackfire, free Starfire. Once Starfire was free, the ruling of the planet should be easily transferred. This had been Josh's first trip through space, and he was still worried about his boyfriend. He made sure to hold his hand tightly through the space-trip, which thankfully was faster than he could do alone due to the warp capabilities of a Blue Lantern. He glances back to the others as the world comes into view below. "Everyone ready?" he asks them. "Remember, Yat and Alerron handle Blackfire. Hope and Avia, find Starfire and get her free. The rest of us, provide cover where needed. She'll probably have some muscle in there to help her keep power, but it shouldn't be anything too powerful -- she'll want to have control over them. Which means the rest of us can handle it." He leans over to whisper in Josh's ear, giving his hand a reassuring squeeze. "We're almost there. Hang on, handsome."

Playing hookey. @ 10:58 pm
compassionate:
Katima elected to stay home from school after the incident with the football team and the cheerleaders. It wasn't that she was afraid of them anymore; Alerron had shown them pain and fear without even doing anything. It was more that she felt terrible for what had happened and more than that for just how disconnected she had been. School had taken a lot out of Katima, perhaps more than anyone realized. She wasn't exactly socialized as a child. Which is why she decided that with the house to herself, cartoons and Lucky Charms were in order. The funny cereal was remarkably like something she barely remembered having as a child on Korugar before everything changed for her. Tucked up on the couch, she took a deep breath. She hadn't realized how very stressed she was feeling. And how awkward.

Always On Time @ 09:51 pm
somebodysave_me:
Alerron has flow all over Earth in the short time he's been on the planet, but his attentions always return to Coast City and a place in the city that he learned to recognize the first time he followed Lifeforce from high above the world. He was still getting used to all of the blessings afforded him by X'Hal, when he noticed that Lifeforce returned to the same place each day at a specific time. It also surprised him to find Henry there, along with Katima. He wanted to speak with her, but there was a chance of coming across the Naltorian, who also resided with them, and Alerron didn't want that at all. So, between saving people where he could, he found himself returning to the same spot, high above the world and practiced focusing his vision. The clarity with which he could see from his height still startled and amazed him, and he often followed Katima and her friend's journeys from what he assumed to be their home and another complex each day. Today, Alerron watched, and listened, as chimes sounded and hundreds of teenagers moved about the complex. It took him little time to establish that this was a school, not unlike his training habitat on Okara. There were daily battles, lessons, and a feeding period. To better understand Katima's new world, Alerron kept his vision focused upon her throughout the day, spending hours watching her. No, he did not consider this stalking in any fashion; it was quite the opposite. He was watching out for an old friend.

Agent Orange Recon Mission @ 02:41 pm
lantern_rogues:
Malicor has been licking his wounds since his last encounter with Green Lantern Henry Jordan. Getting punked over that pesky Blue Lantern Hopalong really has stuck in his craw. He can't quite get over his jealousy; not only does Henry Jordan have Malicor's ring, but he also has an annoying Blue Lantern partner. This of course has complicated matters. It really didn't take a lot for Malicor to find out who that Blue Lantern is. It's not like there are many of them, and the cur's sector was something he already knew - Sector 5. The wings threw Malicor off on his hunt for a bit - those came from some other alien - but the home world of Henry's precious partner was something he eventually discovered. Naltor. Malicor has never really paid much attention to Naltor in the past. It's an odd world where the inhabitants don't seem to live in the same world that everyone else in the universe did. Of course, once Malicor discovered what that realm was it immediately gave him ideas. Where was the last place that any Green Lantern would think to look for their greatest nemesis? Why.. in their dreams of course. With a brilliant plan hatching inside his head, Malicor finds himself back on Earth, looking for the proper targets for his greed. This was the hard part - identifying who should be chosen and who should not. Of course, the closer that Malicor gets to Coast City, the more his obsession with Henry Jordan calls to him. He simply can't help himself as he finds himself flying into the city limits of the city, not worrying too much about being seen or not. He's got his targets. Now it's time to get some information on Henry. He does his best to cloak himself and then finds his way to Coast City High. He wants to ghost after Henry and his nasty little partner to learn more about their day to day life.

First Day of School @ 04:48 pm
bluelantern:
The first day of school has been stressful for Avalon. Very stressful. The only bright part of the whole day was when he found out that he was placed in the same grade as Henry, though that didn't really mean a lot. It wasn't like they had any classes together. Avalon had been horrified when he found out that Josh and Katima wasn't going to share any classes with him, but soon enough he had to get over it and try to get along on his own. Being empathic also didn't seem to help at all, and by the end of the day, Avalon is worn out and sore from having to block himself for the majority of the hours he has been at school. Luckily though, the day is finally done, and Avalon is standing outside where they all agreed to meet, his back against a tree as he idly itched his back. His wings are aching, and he can't wait to get them free and stretch completely, but he knows now is not the time. So, he waits, and tries to not be too troubled by his day at school. It was horrible, and his English caused him to have quite a few misunderstandings. And then there are these boys who made fun of him, calling him names that he didn't even really understand - though they are easily ignored. He's been worried about Katima and Josh the most though, and so he watches for either of the teens to emerge from the building, his heart in his throat.

Getting back to normal.. whatever normal is. @ 10:09 am
bluelantern:
After his time alone with Josh, Avalon has been feeling much more centered. It is a shame that Henry is so absent, but Avalon knows why and he doesn't hold it against his partner.. after all Henry put a lot on the table and now he was giving the three of Josh, Katima and Avalon enough time to process everything. Life still had to go on though, and a couple days after the Talk, Avalon is up early doing his morning sun ritual stuff. Only this morning, it's extra wonderful for him. He appreciates Earth's sun all the more now, especially since he almost lost it. After finishing his ritual, Avalon is in the kitchen, puttering around when Hal Jordan finds him. Mr. Jordan didn't have a lot to say, but he passed off to Avalon the paperwork that the JLA had gotten together for the three teens. They were going to be going to school on Monday. The news is very daunting to Avalon, and he goes to find Josh, a nervous wreck. He makes his way back upstairs, and then slips into the room that he has taken to sharing with the other boy. "Hey.. Josh.." he says softly before he slides onto the bed and curls up next to Josh on top of the covers. Avalon is actually so worried that he's shivering!

Henry breathes out a long breath as he sits down opposite Avalon, Josh, and Katima. He barely knows any of them, really -- he met Avalon barely a month ago, Josh a week and a half ago, and Katima less than a week ago. And yet... in many ways, he feels he knows them so well, they might as well be Din, or Jon, or Jai, or Iris, or Allanah. "Okay," he says. "I've got a lot to say here. So... please. Let me just say it. Just... hear me out, okay?"

Josh shifts slightly on his perch and sighs. It's dark out but he doesn't care. The healer's in Henry's backyard, up in a tree and in a relaxed position. He's got the hood of his sweatshirt up and is just staring up at the stars through the leaves. He can sense who's inside and he fights the urge to tear up again. He's just thankful his powers got rid of the telltale signs that he'd been crying earlier. "Maybe I should just go tonight. What do you think?" he asks a cat that's perched in the tree with him. The feline yawns, stretches, and then walks away. Josh just sighs again.
Compassion's Firm Hand @ 06:27 pm
lantern_kid:
Henry's been gone a few hours. A flight around the asteroid belt has helped him clear his mind. He's hoping Avalon's better now, and less prone to fly off the handle over these perceived slights. Henry's still upset by some of the stuff Avalon said. But he's calm now, and he's willing to forgive and forget. He phases in through the wall to the living room, shifting his clothes back to normal. "Blue? Josh? Dad? Kat? I'm home!"
Crumbling walls.. @ 12:19 pm
bluelantern:
Henry had gone to take Felicity back to Oa and ensure that she was dealt with properly, leaving Avalon in charge back on Earth to get everything settled into place. This was a job that Avalon hadn't minded in the slightest - he was happy to serve as Henry's second and see to it that the mess was cleaned up and that everyone was in one piece. Avalon loved Henry's friends, and even though he might not have known everyone, he was still careful to spend a bit of time with each Hero, making sure that they were in a good mental state and were solidly safe to return home. Once he had seen everyone off, he turned at last to Katima, and offered her a small and tire smile. "I am glad that you did not find injury, Sister." he said softly, the softest ghost of sadness about his emotions. Avalon was empathic as well - he could mask himself from broadcasting what he felt, and had been doing so since that night that he'd gone flying with Josh. Avalon simply didn't feel that he needed to bother Katima with what he was feeling. "I'm glad that you and Henry came in time, though. That was terrible." he murmured.

Henry and Katima spent much of the day in bed. Eventually, however, they needed to get out of bed, and he's invited Katima to come with him to get a bite to eat. He's helped her disguise herself with the powers of the ring so that she looks human, and taught her how to place the battery-staff in a pocket dimension, the way he does with his own battery. As they step out of the ice cream shop, he gives her a hip-bump. "So. What do you think of Earth food?"
After the Party @ 06:51 pm
compassionate:
The guests had gone and the house was empty. People had dispersed and Katima had insisted on helping Henry clear up the mess. It wasn't as bad as she thought it might be. For it to have been a party, everyone had been very good. Nothing was broken, just empty bowls and cans and cups. Being Lanterns made cleaning that much easier so in short order, it was time to unwind, to call it a night. Katima stood at Henry's door. "I'm ready to go to bed now. Did you want me in a particular spot in the bed? I probably won't need much in the way of blankets. It's very comfortable here." She smiles.

A Light in the Dark @ 06:31 pm
compassionate:
Katima had been daydreaming when she felt it, the thick soul-churning conglomeration of emotions before they went entirely black. Trouble. She'd taken off immediately and tracked the disturbance--a brand new Black Lantern, much to her dismay. Stop.
The utterance had captured the monster's attention at the same moment her feelings had and it turned on her, a sick smile twisting from it's razor-toothed maw...an undead Attrocitus-like being. Fearsome. But Katima did not know fear. She did know faith. Her opening shot had been very successful, summoning the void the monster now had for emotions and firing it back at him in an intense channel of black "light". Her own feelings didn't spike and the being had expected to feed from something so the first strike was hard and he missed her, though barely, as he shot out his decaying hand to catch her throat. Nok. Back and forth it went before finally she had him cornered. Had him weakened. Had him in such a position where she could capture him... Flesh. Flesh. Flesh.
The Black Lantern got in a solid swing at her, catching her on the jaw. The pain shot anger through her and she couldn't stay it. It was enough, enough to bolster the being who got in another blow, sending her backwards into space with some force before it turned itself and headed towards its true destination: the nearby planet Earth. Oh no...She wasn't going to be able to stop him alone so she gathered up her power, her staff glowing brightly as she sent out a message to any that would hear her.... "HELP!"
