Entering Eden Prime
A few days after the battle at Iagos, the Elusive Man calls for the team's presence in the War Room as they Normandy II makes its way to the Eden Prime system. They're a bit behind schedule for his taste, but he likes the reports he received of their battle at Iaogs. They fought decently as a team and accounted themselves well in saving the children being held by the slavers. The Elusive Man has his people looking out for the Black Sun Mercenaries and their operations now; if necessary, he'll have some of his other operatives begin to destroy their operation.

For now, the team needs to get back to work.

In the War Room, the team will find the holographic image of the Elusive Man before them, cloaked in darkness as he watches them with emerald green eyes.

"It's good to see you all in fighting form. The situation with the Collectors has escalated while our attention was elsewhere. A Cerberus Colony called Eden Prime recently failed to make contact for its monthly status report. The colony is made up of humans, Tamaraneans and a few Rannians." the Elusive Man says. Presently, his image fades and everyone present sees a small fleet of cuttlefish-shaped ships entering Sector 1115 forty-eight hours ago.

"Those are Collector Ships. We have very little information on them currently, so anything that you can obtain will be helpful. Cyrus' facility with machines may prove useful to you all, so I want him on the ground team on this mission. Cyrus, you'll need to obtain any information regarding the Collections from the Cerberus Database located in the Main Communications Array in the Northern part of the colony.

Otherwise, help the colonists defend themselves and drive the Collectors back. Are there any questions?" he asks.

It never registered with Cyrus that the rest of the team might actually care about him. He had been wallowing in his own pain feeling on his own so much he wasn't very good at noticing how others were reacting to him.

Which was why he was constantly surprised by the rest of the team.

"It's just Cyrus. Thank you." He goes to the far wall and begins to take off his gloves to properly interface with the sensors and the defense system.

Talk to him baby. Tell Uncle Cyrus where the bad man touched you.

	"It is no excuse, Mar'i. You and Katima are important to me. I will take you both on a nice vacation as soon as I can." he says, heading toward the tunnel. The Computer does, indeed, tell Cyrus where the bad Collectors touched it. He will note the existence of a virus in the system that gave them access to the base's data files. Their firewall blunted most of the damage, but couldn't completely stop it.

Cyrus will find it child's play (no pun intended) to quarantine the virus and get it out of the system. Once he's done that, he can also get the colony's defense turrets online, as well as their long-range scanners. Now, they'll have some warning if the Collectors show up.

Finally, Cyrus also notes that the bunker where the other colonists are holing up is below them and that there are 210 colonists of the 300 that originally came here in the bunker. Estimates of their supplies put their current survival rate at 1.5 months from today's date, provided that everything is rationed well.

There are supply ships scheduled to land each week, but the Collector blockade of the planet makes it impossible for them to land.

Over the team comms Cyrus decides to let them know what he's up to.

"So. Dealt with a computer virus the Collectors tried to hit this place with. Their firewall took the brunt of it. It was nearly child's play to get it cleared up." He lets the group take that in.

"And they appear to have taken some losses since hiding out in the bunker. They have plenty of supplies to last the next six weeks if they're careful. The biggest problem is that their supply line for the future has been cut off. We should fix that. It's the Collectors."

"You are right, Cyrus. That is a good idea. What does the colony have in the way of defenses?" Alerron asks, leading the group down the tunnel.

Alerron is prepared for any surprise attack from the colonists or sign of treachery from the Collectors...which is why he's wholly unprepared for what happens next.

The team gets within fifteen feet of the door and Alerron eyes begin to lose focus and he feels like he's swimming through Garosian Molasses. Still, he continues forward thinking the feeling will pass.

The moment he gets within ten feet of the door, he collapses, writhing in pain. He feels like his insides are trying to claw their way out and his eyes slam shut from the pain.

Worst of all, he has no idea /why/ this is happening.

	"Beloved?" She'd only seen him go down once, on the battlefield, and even then the pain he was in seemed minimal somehow. This was different and she felt it in her gut. Aleea hadn't even had to say anything. Katima was on her way, her own body wrapped in the protective indigo light as she spread her force field to envelope her lover as well. Alerron felt marginally better as Katima's field enveloped him, but he was still in a great deal of pain. He didn't understand how lead could hurt him so much; he hadn't come across any of it previously.

"If this...is what this lead can do to me...it is better than I wait with Cyrus while you all go into the bunker and check upon the welfare of the other colonists. You do not need to try to care for them and me at the same time.

I will go outside and see if the sunlight aids me any." Alerron says, slowly getting to his feet and turning to go back the way they came.

"Aleea, please take care of Mar'i and Katima for me." Alerron requests.

	Katima did not like this, not one bit and she briefly started to argue with him, to insist that she should go with him. But the look on his face was enough to stop her and with a heavy heart, she nodded at Aleea and continued on. (Reply to this)(Parent)
