Weekend Away
Roy's checked the brakes, and the tires, and the spare tire on the vehicle. He made sure all the packs had basic medical kits, that the tents were really good tents, and the flashlights were all new, with batteries to spare. He's made Lian go over the lists of essentials twice, and he's lost count of how many times he's lectured her about being in charge, and the responsibility that goes with it.

Because it's making him feel like Ollie, he'll be done now. Really. There's no more he could possibly check with her.

"You have the numbers to all the local ranger stations and the hospital, right?"

That's a good thing, because Teddy doesn't trust magic for the tent he's going to sleep in. It's bad enough the three guys are getting shoved in one, even if it is twice as big as either of the girls'. He puts his game system away as he grabs a bunch of stuff.

Of course he gets tent duty with the two girly-girls. Traya needs an entourage for all her luggage! Over under the trees, Teddy takes a look around. "If we put up there-- there-- and over here-- we can have shade pretty much all day. Unless someone has a preference for baking like a tostada?"

It may help Teddy's sensibilities some that Ty has no need of sleep, nor any intent to bother. It'll be crowded enough, and he's kind of looking forward to sitting up and listening to the sounds of the campsite at night.

Noting Cerdian not doing things the easy way, and still enthused about this camping thing, Ty does the same, starting to work on getting the campsite set up manually, working on building an efficient firepit.

Gleeful to be out of the cramped vehicle, Jeannie steps out onto earth and breathes in the fresh air. It is wonderful here! This place is--

She drops the bag with the tarp over by where Lian is, and then walks slowly to the nearest tree, always looking up. She touches the bark. Things watch here.

She backs away quietly and goes back to the truck. She'll unload that for a while... away from the trees...

	"Herelemmegetthatforyou," Iris is a blur, as she sweeps past the rest of her friends, grabbing the other tent. She has it all set up in about two seconds. Literally. 	Lian looks away from Jeannie at the sound of the crash, and shakes her head with a chuckle. Speedsters "You know I have to take your glasses now, right?" Jeannie scoffs and turns her body slightly left, pointing her shoulder in a pout.

"Not a baby," she says sourly, and starts fussing with her sneaker. "And marshmallows."

Letting out a sigh, she sits up straight, hands paralleled away from her body, and looks Lian right in the eyes-- which actually appears more comical than serious. "I can go out and-- I can go out--" Words aren't coming. She doesn't have to be okay all the time. Not being okay is normal and sometimes okay.

Damnit! Jeannie throws her hands up.

Lian grabs one of the duffel bags full of food and slings it over her shoulder, motioning Jeannie toward the other bag with the pans and utensils. "Let's get these over to the cooking area." "Iris..." Teddy pinches the bridge of his nose as he looks at the mess. "Some things require patience. Trust me, you don't want your tent collapsing on you in the middle of the night, either."

He comes over, dragging up a pole from under the tent, and disconnecting it and then putting it back together with another piece. "This goes here... and see? This goes like this, so you had that right..."

	Iris pouts just a little. "Fine." She really, really, really didn't like doing things "snail paced". She crouches next to Teddy, "Like this?" she begins to reassemble the tent, fighting the urge to just use her superspeed to put it back together. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"I think the speed force kind of trumps all when it comes to super speed, right? Pretty sure you'd win." He's not entirely positive on that, using Black Adam's speed with Zoom's time dilation lets him do some impressive things, speed-wise, but he's not much of a competitor.
