Not-So-Perfect Night
Mickey was being very cuddly and attentive when her and Steven got out of the movies. The new Tron had been pretty damn awesome...though there were parts where they weren't paying attention.

"So," she said to Steven as they walked out of the movie theater and into the snow-covered streets. "What's next? Dinner...or do we want to go back to the brownstone and work up an appetite?" She grinned at him.

	There's sirens, but as usual, the JSA are faster than the police. Right now, the crowd is giving them space, Steven in the middle of a circle of people, just cradling Mickey's body. Major Force's headless body lays nearby, very still, no one daring to touch it. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Rex speeds up at the note of panic in Will's voice and touches down only a minute or so after they both do. He sees the crowd, followed by the headless body and then, Steven.

And Mickey.

Mickey was like his little sister, just as Nic and Wendy were. Nic and Mickey were best friends and then some...and Mickey was like a little sister to Angela, too. Their dads served together in the Corps and Mr. Rayner had always, always been kind to Rex.

Mickey's other sister is a member of the JLA, but at the moment, Rex can only look at Steven in utter sadness. It didn't take him long to get an idea of what happened.

Rex speaks into his comm.

"M.D. can you hack the cameras within two blocks of this place? I need to know who was responsible for what happened here and how it went down and I need the info ASAP." he says.

Mikey remembered when Aunt Jen had been showing off Mickey to everyone back when he was little before he even met Courtney. Aunt Jen had always been so nice to him even back in Infinity Inc back when Dad and Uncle Sylvester made things up after they had been fighting.

He sat down on PATTON in shock while PATTON took him to the scene. He just couldn’t believe this. There were a lot of people to tell and none of this was going to be easy he remember his dad doing that when Uncle Sylvester died.

Nic was a little slower than the rest of the team. She'd been flying back from Louisiana when she got word.

"Hey guys, what's going on?"

But she didn't need anyone to tell her. Her keen nose caught the smell of blood and then her sharp eyes caught the rest of it.

"No. No no no no no no no fucking NO!"

She scrambles to Steven, dropping to her knees as she folds her wings around them, around Steven and Mickey both.

	"Mikey. I /need/ that information right now." Rex says into the comm. "Captain Marvel, Hawkgirl, Hourgirl...get Flash and Onyx back to base. I need them out of here right now." Mikey was not the best hacker there was but his programs that he wrote could do it for him which was a good thing since there was no way he could effectually hack right now.

He activated the program and got enough to know what had happened though he couldn’t look to see it for himself.

He took off his glasses and threw them at Rex for him to put on. “You watch it,” Mikey said. Ready to press play on his gauntlet when Rex put them on.

Rex views the tape, his blood boiling more and more with each second. It looked as though Major Force acted alone, but they couldn't be sure right now, especially after what Injustice Unlimited did to them recently.

He sees what Force did to Mickey and feels his heart sink in his chest. Her parents were going to be devastated. Beyond that, even. Steven's contribution to the battle is there, barely recognizable due to his speed, but there.

So many people were dying around them these days and Rex wondered who they'd pissed off to get hit with this stuff one after the other.

"Justice Society, we're moving out! Reconvene at HQ ASAP." Rex says.

"Ladies and gentlemen, go back to your homes, on with what you were doing. There's nothing more to see here." Warhawk tells them.

He turns to Mikey.

"Have PATTON make a copy of the footage, Mikey. Then I need you to concentrate for me, man, because this next part is really important.

I need to you to destroy the footage on every security camera within two blocks." he whispers.

"We can't let whoever put Force up to this or whoever he's working with, get wind of what happened. We also can't let Mickey's parents find out about this from the news. Can you do that for me? Then head back to the brownstone and we'll figure out what's going on from here." he says.

Rex sees Wendi run off and he can't blame her at all, but that really was the last thing they needed right now.

"Captain Marvel, help Hawkgirl out." Warhawk says, going over to Major Force's headless body and hefting it from the ground.

"I've got some trash to take out." he says.

Mikey takes his glasses back and puts them on.”Yeah I should be able to do that,” He says somberly.

The glasses make the hacking virtual physical constructs he could interact with using his gauntlet which he uses to smash all the video files he needed to while keeping copies in PATTON.

He then had PATTON started to take him back to the Brownstone while he thought about what he was going to tell Patty, Courtney, and his parents.

Nic delicately, carefully, gently carried Mickey home.

"You'll be back," she whispered, her voice full of disbelief and childish denial. "My parents always come back so you will, too. And I'm going to wear every single pair of your shoes until you're pissed off enough to come kick my ass."

Hawks came back so she would, too, right? Nic was going to go with that. If she thought of anything else, she'd lose her mind.

Rex lifts off with Major Force's body, flying South out of St. Roch as quickly as he can. He can make it to the coast within the hour as long as there isn't a wind against him.

This was way too good for the bastard, but Rex isn't letting anyone come to retrieve Force's body and possibly bring him back. If he'd heard the call sooner, he wouldn't have let Steven carry the weight of killing the guy for the rest of his life.

"I hope the sharks feast on you, you rat bastard." Warhawk growls, flying as quickly as possible.
