Happy Birthday Foxy @ 11:02 pm

[info]cantkeepmeout:

In the ungodly hours of the morning, when even most vigilantes would be calling it a night, a silent alarm goes off. Except for once instead of any tell-tale signs of robbery there's a trail of blood and discarded clothing. First the cape. Then gloves. Crushed utility belt. And finally the tunic that gives it all away.

He's a crumpled figure on the floor,  surrounded by bits of a first aid kit that he's managed to knock off the shelf before collapsing, and propped up against the wall in what is both the most convenient and inconvenient position. It's the only way he can see the stab wound, one of many, just below his ribs in order to stitch it. But it's also the position he's bleeding out the fastest in.

The blood loss, blurry vision and shaky hands are making this worse, and he's completely oblivious to his surroundings at the moment.

Not that it mattered much at this point.

Shenanigans @ 02:00 am

[info]outfoxing:

There was a big difference between a job for work and a job for fun.

This was all about having fun. She had broken into a highly secured lab just because she could. Then broke into a secure vault with the kind of skill and ease that only a professional like her could have.

Then for extra fun she left a note pointing out their security flaws with a big silly smiley face at the end. She was feeling pretty playful after all.

Then she was out and racing across roof tops enjoying her little game. This was way too much fun.

Circus shenanigans @ 06:48 pm

[info]growsyourfear:
Current Mood: bouncy

Maize was in a mood. Mom was pouting around the house as well, bummed that her besty was currently experiencing the services provided by Arkham and their cheery staff. To be fair, Maize was bummed about that as well, liking the perk that Harley brought to their cozy little home. Fortunately for Maize, she'd never experienced Arkham first-hand, and she wasn't keen on doing so, especially not after the 'bedtime stories' told by an overly enthusiastic Harley.

At least Auntie wasn't in solitary, which meant that she'd have access to tv during free time. So, Maize thought she'd give her something entertaining to watch. And with mom all in mopesville as well, what better way than a double feature? Chaos in the Circus! Big-Top Brujah! A few nightshade-laced pies in the faces of some of the clowns would likely put a smile on mom's face, and Harley would enjoy the pies. So, as far as Maize was concerned, it was a win-win.

And how does a girl make a circus-stealing entrance? Why, on a pilfered elephant, of course. Entering through the open flap, she grinned as vines clambered up the bleacher-style seats, pinning people in place. "Ladi-i-i-i-ies and gentlemen! Welcome to 'Cirque de So-Lame'." Reaching into one of the boxes resting in front of her on the elephant, she pulled out a pie, smiling as the pachyderm moved closer to the confused looking clown troupe.

"Step right up, watch and be amazed at the crazy-like-whoa antics of your lovable clowns." And with that, she threw the pie in one confused looking face. Giggling, she pulled out another and flung it at the next clown, merrily making her way through the pies. With the last one, she held it high. "This one's for you, Harls!"

The Flowers Job @ 08:07 pm

[info]outfoxing:

Sarah had needed to do a very simple job. Get into a party a gangster was throwing and plant some bugs. Her employer was trying to gather intelligence and wanted to make sure that he was covering all of his bases. Honestly was was far too easy for her to find a way into the party. Invitations were easy to get her hands on and with the right dress no one really wanted to ask questions either.

Guards were so easy to flirt past. Especially when she was putting out all the stops. She thought she might even check out the safe while she was here. This was proving to be an incredibly easy and fun job for the thief. She should just try really hard to not tempt fate.

Stick to the script Foxy @ 10:36 pm

[info]cantkeepmeout:

Robin decides to do one last sweep of the neighbourhood he's in before calling it a night. It's been pretty quiet, especially given that this isn't exactly one of the nicer neighbourhoods, and it's looking like he'll wrap up patrol early.

For fun he does a double flip to land on the next roof and is about to take off at a run to try and do the same for his next jump when he stops in his tracks, and stares at the bleeding figure on the rooftop for a long moment.

Was that?

No. Oh no.

And Robin takes off at a mad dash.

Did you hear about the big shoot out? (Thomas) @ 11:02 pm

[info]angryarcher:

Sam was in Gotham City tracking down a lead from some gunrunning that he had come across back in Star City. Sam had to say Gotham was kind of a depressing place in his opinion. Still he was doing a pretty good job trailing this guy. It looked like the guy was heading into a warehouse.

After the guy went into the building Sam started scouting the place out not wanting to get caught off guard about anything if he could help it.

A Lazy Sunday (Open) @ 06:20 pm

[info]crossbow_bat:

It was Sunday and that meant that Maria didn't have to work at Wayne Enterprises and she even had the day off from dancing. She would go out on patrol at night, but while the sun was up she didn't have much to do. Winter had hit Gotham in full force and the temperature was barely into double digits so Maria was in sweats, heavy socks and had her hands wrapped around a mug of hot chocolate.

She was curled up on the couch watching the football game. Her cell was handy just in case something came up.

Who's the better thief? @ 04:50 pm

[info]cantkeepmeout:

Robin leans back on his hands to wait for a certain thief to arrive so they could start the competition. Perched on the edge of the roof of the Gotham Museum of Art, he lets his legs dangle over the edge while he waits. He's already checked the message a few times but does so once more before tucking it back into his belt, Art Museum roof 1am Tuesday. This could easily be a trap but he doubts it, because honestly the museum roof was not exactly the best place for an ambush and it wasn't her style.

A slow smile creeps over his face as he hears someone approach from behind.

Frosty the Snowman Was a Jolly Happy Soul (Independent) @ 11:16 pm

[info]dc_holiday:

Not everyone was a member of a team, but it didn't mean they were alone. They had friends and family they would visit on this holiday. It could mean celebrating with one other person or it could mean celebrating with a group of people.

Despite the type of celebration the reasons were the same. People came together to celebrate in the season of joy and peace. They celebrated by exchanging gifts and being together.

A few nights following.... @ 11:00 pm

[info]outfoxing:

She's relaxing in one of her hidey holes she has set up around Gotham. It's been a few nights since she an Robin had gotten into that fight. She was still rather sore over some of the things he had said to her.

And sore for other reasons really. She wouldn't disclose that to anyone. But she had redeemed herself just last night. For her own good she was laying low. That meant eating pizza and relaxing with some movies. She found herself very distracted because well she did have a weakness for bad horror movies and these were rather fantastic.

Also bad but that was part of the point. Little did she suspect she was about to have a visitor to her little safe haven.

We meet again @ 01:04 am

[info]outfoxing:

This wasn't really up to her standards when it came to heists. And it wasn't a real heist. It was just that her employer needed her to get some things to trade on the black market for the cold hard cash he needed to get his little war started soon. He wanted to get Gotham back to being so dirty Detroit would look like it was clean. The metaphor was lost on someone like her who had spent much of her life in Europe and the Middle East.

She misses the desert on nights like these. She had thirty minutes until the security came around to check the vault. She had just enough time to get in and out.

In ten minutes she had gotten her prize and was quickly sailing over roof tops and around ally ways tearing like mad away from a successful job. This haul should please her Boss because it yielded a high pay out for them.

And now she senses trouble.

A Day of Thanks @ 06:31 pm

[info]dc_holiday:

"A thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue, but the parent of all the other virtues." - Cicero

In America today is a day for being thankful for the things in people's lives. Today was a day to celebrate family, friends, prosperity and health with food, family and friends. It is a time to reflect on what is important us and to recognize the gratitude we hold for having those things in our lives.

All Hallow's Eve @ 01:22 pm

[info]dc_holiday:

All Hallow's Eve, or Halloween as it has been come to be called, is a popular holiday with children and adults alike. It is a holiday that had its roots in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain or Summer's End. Samhain celebrated the end of the "lighter half" of the year and the beginning of the "darker half".

On this evening the barriers between this world and the Otherworld were believed to be thin and the spirits, good and bad, of the dead could pass through. The spirits of the family's ancestors were welcomed in while evil and bad spirits were warded off by the wearing of masks and costumes. The costumes and masks disguised one as a harmful spirit and avoided harm from others.

It was also a harvest celebration and time to take stock of food stores for the winter. Livestock were slaughtered and the meat prepared for storage. It was the final harvest of the year and the crops were then stored for the winter. Celebrations included bonfires and tales of the family's ancestors.

It was a celebration of the dead and of the harvest.

Today we dress up in scary and not so scary costumes and masks and go door to door for candy or attend costume parties. It is a night for revelry, pranks and fun.

Live From Gotham @ 11:23 pm

[info]dc_media:

"Today District Attorney Ruben Harrington said today that he is certain that the individuals arrested earlier this month on corruption charges will be found guilty after their trials of which the first starts tomorrow. The individuals arrested included prominent political figures including long time Gotham Selectman Stanley Morse and Selectman Terrance Bentley. The trial for Stanley Morse starts tomorrow and will be the first of many trials.

DA Harrington pledged to help clean up Gotham at the start of his tenure as district attorney and according to him this is just the first step. He has sworn that all criminals of all kinds, whether they be drug dealers or corrupt politicians, will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and there will be no leniency. Is our District Attorney trying to singlehandedly trying to clean up Gotham? He hasn't commented on his view about Gotham's caped community or what he intends to do about them if anything."
