Steven has been counting the days. The paperwork is filed, listing himself as the primary owner of Speedforce Productions, Ltd., with Annie, Jai, Iris, Tess and Cindy as partners. They have the space rented for each of the shoots - this one on a private beach. Everyone among the superheroine crowd that was willing to sign an NDA was invited with an RSVP request so they knew how many swimsuits to design.

Pippi has her own space to handle hair, wardrobe and makeup for the models, with Harry along to help coordinate getting everyone in to see her as adjustments were needed. Jai has the task of helping with setup, extra cameras, following Jo Kent around to shoot interviews while Steven handles the main coordination, and whatever else needs gophering. Jo is their reporter, there to conduct interviews with the models about their neighborhoods, causes important to them, and whatever else they want to discuss to help introduce themselves to the greater universe who often doesn't get to interact with super heroes.

Aside from the main area of beach, there,s a large bin full of beach balls. Tons and tons of beach balls, all of them two or three-colored in the colors of the various super heroines who confirmed they'd be here.

"Alright, when people are ready... I know we had one organizational meeting. But I thought I'd use this opportunity to thank everyone for coming. We're going to do the biggest and most complicated shoot first, and start working out details of the others. We have tentative volunteers, but some of the schedules are still open, and we're very open to shooting in pairs.

Other than the shoot here, consider this a day on the beach, courtesy of Speedforce Productions. After the shoot, we'll bring down food and drinks... there's plenty of water over by Pippi's station in the meanwhile."

Cait decided to spend a day or two at the cottage before heading back to San Francisco. She needed a day or two to decompress after spending the past week in Atlantis. Dealing with Arthur was always stressful, this time being no different. Amnesty Bay was the perfect place to decompress and get some peace and quiet.

She walked out of the ocean and pulled the water out of her clothes and hair. She headed for the small cottage at the base of the lighthouse. She opened the door, stepped inside and never saw the blow. Pain spiked at the back of her neck and the world went dark.

"Bring her," a male voice said and a figure stepped out of the shadows. The man next to him picked up Cait's inert body and threw it over a shoulder. The two men left the small cottage.

Once they're past the party, Jai, Iris and Cindy receive notifications of a time and place to meet for Speedforce Productions' initial set up meeting. Tess, of course, is invited, but doesn't need anything so formal. Steven even set up the twins' invitations to be on West-Allen time, so they should end up showing up around the time everyone else does.

He's rented out the party room of a pizza place in Keystone, where he can set up a projector and big screen and provide space for laptops and the like, after making sure the place had free wifi. Food is provided as a part of the meeting, with a few different types of pizza and a few different pitchers of soda, all labeled, are set out on the table.

Cindy was proud of the festivities she'd set up.

The game was projected onto one wall of the huge atrium the party was taking place in, with plenty of comfy seats facing it. It was only polite, after all.

More important was the food. Tables of chips, veggies, wings (with three different types of dressing), muffelettas (it's a New Orleans occasion this year. Thematic), and chili rolls. Cindy was especially proud of the chili rolls; there was one row marked 'Regular' and one row marked 'Queen' The latter row had a stack of pens and informed-consent waivers in front of it.

There was also a small end table full of party favors for everyone. In celebration of commerce, they were $10 gift cards, each for somewhere she thought fitting for the person the card was marked for.

Cindy likes parties.

Glossy, colorful invitations went out to, delivered to homes if she had personal addresses, team bases if she didn't.

It was an Event of the Season for the most concentratedly commercialized day of all: Super Bowl Sunday. An all-day bash centered in the main atrium of the New Guardians headquarters in Chicago.

"Come celebrate the triumph of capitalism!" The invitations proclaim. "-- and one football team or another, if you like. Transportation provided if necessary. Refreshments fabulous."

It was a mandatory team workout session with all the trimmings. Currently, they were in Phase two, which involved matching obstacles courses for the Flashes with speed timers and little tweaks to handle each of their particular weaknesses. A sparring-grounds situation of Cat Versus Jacob -- Tess had been gradually working at this and really hoped to get Jacob a little more confident on how to deal with a potentially violent situation -- and Lee Versus Layla. She and Mark were mostly taking a breather during Phase Two so that he could explain some how various precautionary spellwork was done.

A small town in upper New York state had been taken over by demons. That was when someone had come to put a stop to it. No lives had been lost that day. The magic had been reversed and the Doctor had been very kind to most of the people in the town.

Except for the young sorcerer who had been the source of the demons. They were a novice truly and had been given a very stern lecture on magic and taking care. This is the eighth sighting of Doctor Fate since his disappearance over a decade and a half ago. No one knows who this truly is or where he came from just that he has been showing up off and on since around Christmas.

He has not yet made contact with anyone from the old guard. It is almost March now and he is looking ready to depart now that he is done.

Lee had been talking to his Uncle Greg recently having spend Memorial Day at his ranch with his dad. Having commented on how good the food, Greg had sent him a rather large amount of beef from his ranch.

Since he knew there was no way he could eat all of it by himself he figured it would be best to share it. So he sent a message to the others seeing if they might be interested in a cook-out. He had no trouble with manning the grill.

With his recent conversation with Cindy Lord a few days past, the NDA's drawn up, and enough funding and paperwork together to begin the hiring process, Steven started making calls. He reserved the back room of a pizza place so they would have ample room for everyone, and privacy for the discussion. No one beyond Tess and Cindy have been told precisely what its for, just that its not an emergency of any sort, that they'll be receiving a business offer, and regardless how it goes, the food is on Steven... technically Cindy put up the money, but he's the host.

He's made, and called quite the list, along with making arrangements for transportation to New York for the non-residents. Thankfully, between the speedforce, JLA transporters, and people's powers, that's not hard to do. Each of the girls is handed an NDA as soon as they walk through the door. They're welcome to take or reject the proposal, of course - but the discussion itself has to stay under reasonable wraps. The entire menu - pizza, pasta, salads, sodas and breadsticks are made readily available to everyone for their attendance.

Steven himself has already gone through a couple of pizzas while waiting, and now has gone back to kind of pacing, waiting to greet the guests. His materials are all ready for presentation, once people arrive and sign the NDAs.

The guest list covers some of the most impressive women on the planet... together for... a pizza party.

It was time for an impact visit. This time in the Bronx. It was going well, Tess thought. Crime as a whole had been going down in the wake of these visits.


What she didn't know is that at that same moment, one of the more strong-willed employees at STAR Labs' New York location was tripping the silent alarm.

Lee arrived at the Brownstone. He had been away for a while visiting Uncle Greg at his ranch. Greg wasn't really his uncle but his dad and him were really close. It had been a really nice trip and he had gotten to ride horses every day he was there. Something he didn't get to do to much of in the city.

His sword was on his back as he opened up the front doors and walked inside he had hoped to do some training while he was there.

Miss Terrific strode through a Queens neighboor in broad daylight, in full uniform, hair up so the Fair Play logo was adequately displayed on the back of her jacket. They'd divided up, two by two, Jacob back at the Brownstone to work on equipment and keep an ear out for emergencies elsewhere in the city. Each had their assigned routes -- Tess had portioned them out when she'd called them together for it, since she hadn't expected anyone else to memorize the complicated schedule she'd devised to ensure no one would ever come up with a way to 'game' the JSA's visits to particular neighborhoods. No dates or times would be predictible. This open, daytime presence, talking to people, finding out what was going on, could happen at any time.

There was more to this game than just showing up when the bad guys did.

After a quick friendly chat with some of the local kids at the playground, Tess grinned at her partner and walked along. "Nice, brisk weather and everything," she said.

Iris loved hanging out at the Brownstone with the rest of the Justice Society, but part of hanging out was helping to keep the place clean. Iris readied a mop and then took off at top speed. Who said doing chores had to be done at regular speed and no fun?

"Okay, people!" Tess claps her hands together slightly. "Today's for estimation of various kinds. Shazam. Jacob. I need each you to stand under those things over there and hold the 'roof' up as the pressure builds. Tell me how easy or hard it gets to be, and definitely tell me before it gets dangerous. Flash, please monitor the equipment like I showed you earlier. Wildcat, you and I are going to talk reflex work in a minute. Fate, take off the helmet, please. I want to talk to Just Mark."
