(Not) Just a Normal Day At Avengers' Mansion
Svalin and Tryggvi just landed on the small lawn in the back of the Avengers Mansion. Svalin had been getting antsy and decided to take Tryggvi out for a flight around New York. They were both feeling too confined. At least at the Defenders compound there was room to move around and a nice ocean breeze. There were too many tall buildings in New York and they were all too close.

Svalin dismounted and immediately removed the saddle. She let it fall on the ground and then removed the bridle. She smiled and lightly rubbed Tryggvi's nose before placing a kiss on his forehead. "Thank you, my friend. 'Twas a most enjoyable flight."

It was true. One of them pretty much had to stay behind, to look after the rest of the team. With so many new members and all...

"All right," Steve said, finally. "You called it first. But you come back. Or else I will track you down and kick you ass. Even if I have to bring you back to life first to do it."

Yeah, people were going to think that he was being sappy, but Charlie was going to go ahead and hug Steve anyway.

Wally smiles as he watches Steve and Charlie. He thinks its sweet. Scooping up a muffin, he thinks. "Err...maybe I should stay back too," he says. "Ya know..." he shakes a wrist. He doesn't want to accidentally mess up any other realities.

He walks over to Charlie, takes his hand and puts the other one on his shoulder. "Good luck." He smiles at the Asgardian. "You, on the other hand -" He breaks from Charlie and offers a warrior's handshake to Svalin. "Need to just send the guy into next week."

The Timebroker watches all of this with a bemused expression. "This is all very touching, but technically, the Rogers boy was right. You /can't/ all go. See, there's a limit how many people can be pulled out of this reality without disrupting it rather badly. Sarah there needs to get back to work, or I'd send all of you with a veteran at this, but I'm afraid it really can't wait. And because she has become a complete temporal pain in the ass, those closest to Anya Stark can't go either... she has, unintentionally, almost destroyed this reality twice now - so try and keep her out of trouble, ok? However..." he points to Svalin, Vernique and Charlie. "All of you are going to be necessary... Mr. Spector has nothing requiring his presence here, and the two Eternals who have kept themselves somewhat more distant than some... that should do nicely. Do try not to screw up... there's about two dozen realities attached to this one. If it goes under, its going to take them all with it. And for the travelers... I really must recommend taking a muffin. The food is terrible where you're going."

Kang the Conqueror? The Time-Broker?

The names around here didn't seem to stop with the pretension, but Eli is worried less about that that what Kang will do if not stopped. Who knows what this man is capable of if allowed to run unchecked.

Besides, he has another motive for going.

"Kang raised hands against the Eternals and my new-found friends. I will answer for Polaria on this slight and accompany all of you on this journey." Eli says.

Geez the Timebroker really knew how to make Ryan feel good about himself with his comment on his comparative necessity. Although not sure how much help he would be surrounded by all of these heavy hitters he was determined not to be a load for their team.

Taking the guy’s advice Ryan grabbed one of the muffins that he had been eyeing. “How much time do we have to get ready?”

Trying not to think of the pointlessness of wanting to bring a hair dryer and decent wardrobe, Vernique notes that expression on Ryan's face and leans over to whisper "Glad to have you along for the Common Sense Brigade."
She grabs a muffin and then, after a thought, picks up her Tiffany's bag and slips the various silver contents into the pockets of the purple suit underneath her clothes. Crosstemporal locations may not take her Platinum Card.

Twenty minutes was plenty of time for Svalin to grab her weapons, grab Tryggvi's saddle, some feed for him, the Asgardian gold she had and possibly a change of clothes.

Eli vanished momentarily, then returned with a backpack. He had no physical weapons to his name. All in all, he was ready to go now.

"I cannot believe that this is happening." he says.

Twenty minutes to get ready for anything, Ryan run up to the manor to get his stuff and write some quick notes to people who would want to know what happen to him mainly, his Mom, Addy, and his Dad. When Ryan came back he had his athletic bag on filled with a few changes of underwear and shirts, some of choice weapons(Crescent Darts, a Truncheon, a Three-Piece Staff, and a few knives), a digital camera, a simple homemade med kit, a towel because Hitchhiker's was right about its many uses and a few other things.

Charlie gave his shield to Sarah, before dashing up to his room, making a quick change into his uniform, grabbing his shield, and throwing some spare clothes and underwear, a shaving kit, his wallet, and a First-Aid kit.

He left messages for his parents, Toni, Anya, and even though he'd already talked to him, Steve.

Just in case he didn't come back at all.
