Your Mission Should You Choose to Accept It
The spaceship approached Knowhere Station at an alarming speed. Ships usually decelerated before trying to enter one of the hangar bays, but this one didn't show any signs of slowing down. Alarms went off all over the station as the ship drew closer. Fighters launched to intercept the incoming ship.

The pilot of the small craft had the sense to contact the command center in the station when she saw the ships moving to intercept. The fighters backed off and the incoming ship slowed a little. It wasn't enough and the ship crossed the forcefield barrier to the one hangar bay. The ship's landing gear touched the deck, but the ship kept moving. It skidded across the bay and came to a halt after hitting the far wall.

Eliza stuck by Alex. She got that this was mostly because she was one of the more vulnerable people against the Brood. But she had a gun and was okay with this.

Besides, she knew Iason was safe. That made this okay.

Oh yeah that was useful. Eliza swore to get night vision goggles of some kind installed in he uniform. That would be handy.

But hey at least one of the views here was nice.

Several hundred yards and one exploded wall later, they emerge into an open chamber, illuminated by the energy field being maintained in the center of it. Suspended inside is an unconscious Adam Warlock.

"Well... there's something you don't see e-- actually, forget that. I see this sort of thing way too often." Alex corrects himself.

He looks between Iason and Rocket. "Between Eternal know-how or whatever other explosives you're packing, make that thing stop working. Bonus points if you can do it without taking us and the chamber with it. The rest of you, defensive perimeter in case anything or anyone else shows up." He directs them to positions as he keeps his own gun ready.

Not finding anything to chop in half with Godslayer or blast with a gun, Azura ran back and went in the other direction. She eventually caught up with the others.

"What's go....Dad!" she exclaimed and ran toward her father.

Azura looked at Quill and tried to break her arm free of his grasp. "You'll kill him!" she protested as Red took aim.

He carefully adjusted the ammo settings on his gun and fired.

The machines that controlled the energy field exploded in a shower of sparks and flames. The energy field surrounding Adam flickered and then shutdown.

Iason moves to the flames, drawing in what of their energy he can to let the others get closer to help Adam.

Azura yanked her arm free of Quill's grasp and rushed to her father's side.

"Father," she said. "Can you hear me?"

Alex approaches Azura. "If he were really in danger, he'd have cocooned himself by now. We can take care of the rest back at Knowhere." He reassures her, directing the others to secure Adam so they could get moving.

Eliza smiled faintly. Then gave Iason a rather tender but very brief look. She took things like this very seriously.

"Be careful. I know they can't really hurt you but..." She still worried.

"Let's go," Azura said as she stayed near her father. "I say we fly up out of the hole and head right for the ship."

The group made their way to the hole and Azura let her brother back into normal space. He could fly, she couldn't.

"Anyone need a lift?" Abel asked.

"Dae, we're heading out." Alex speaks into his comm-link, recalling the ship from its holding pattern and leading the crew out.

Soon enough, they're back on The Ride.
