It had been entirely an impulse purchase, but it was the exact same bike she'd had back home. The damn serial number had even been the same and maybe that is what had sent MC over the edge. It didn't matter that it needed work; it was hers.

Except...while she could get the bike running, the baby blue 1979 Harley Davidson Sportster had some structural issues. Namely...it wouldn't drive straight and MC wasn't entirely certain how to fix that and she didn't have a whole lot of resources that took a petite redhead seriously. Not here. There was only one person she could think of.

Half an hour later, she'd tracked down Lysi and pulled up (or rather skidded dangerously up) to her curb.

MC looked at Lysi a moment, clearly thinking.

"Okay, one. Just one." She could drink it slowly. It'd be okay. She took it when it was offered to her and smiled.

"Yeah. I've got the engine going great--even made it a little more efficient so I can go faster, but...the damn thing's rickety. I almost laid it down trying to come to a stop out front. '79 Sportster. I don't know anyone around here I trust messing with my work."

	It seems contagious, not that Lysi isn't usually rather blatantly cheerful anyway. "Let's work up an appetite first. You got here ok, I'll follow you back to your place in case there's any problems, and I can make sure no one drives up your tailpipe when your bike ain't working right." "Sounds like a plan...and I'm really grateful for that." MC took another sip of her drink before sitting it down still a bit over half full. She had to stop there if she was going to be driving the bike from hell back home. MC was small; her tolerance lacked.

"I was really excited to get the bike. It's exactly like the one I have back home but I'm just not getting something right." She shrugged her shoulders and waited for Lysi's lead in heading out. "I can make an engine faster, better, more powerful but every once in awhile I get tripped up on things."

Lysi downs the rest of her own beer in one shot, then sets the bottle with a number of others on the small table near the window, opening the door for MC.

"S'ok, I was never that great with engines, usually had someone do most of the fixes for me when it got beyond basics... but structural is a little different, less wiring and more muscle. We'll get it running right."

	"Yeah and I'm really good with engines. I can build anything I want. I'm totally converting a car to run on half the gasoline but maintain performance. Yeah, yeah, I know we should look for new energy sources but...people like oil. So this should help." She heads out the door. "Less oil, more money to spend on shoes." She almost smacks her ass on the way out. The observant might note the hint of movement, before she remembers she has at least some manners. Not many, but some - and the Avenger isn't a barmaid or stripper.

"We've gone mostly solar in Femizonia, but our climate is good for that. Oil has never been a big thing there. Well, ok, solar and grass, since we still use a lot of riding animals too."

"Sounds great."

MC smiles at Lysi, then climbs on her bike. For the machine to be significantly larger than she is, MC is very adept at interacting with it, as though it were a natural extension of herself. She gets it started and then pulls out, slowly, holding firmly to it as she leads the way towards home.

The bike seems to want to cause trouble a few separate times, but she manages to coax her to a stop safely once they arrive.

Following along behind made for a nice view... in contrast to her attitude while driving. She yells at other drivers, and would probably be a lot more aggressive on the road were it not for the fact she's just keeping pace.

She pulls up to a stop at the curb. "Alright, let's see this workshop and get your bike up." she replies, walking over, once MC is off her bike, and lifting it up on her shoulders. Just easier than wheeling it.

	MC's jaw drops when Lysi just picks up the bike like it's nothing. "...ohmygod. Okay. Workshop. Right. This way!" She walks her out to the garage area towards the back of the building, using her voice to command the doors to open...even as she keeps half-staring at Lysi. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
