Newspapers flew about the living room then burst into angry blue flames, any loose objects in the room seemed to rattle, and Martin was looking at the TV like it was going to be his next victim. Too bad it was a wall mounted one.

He hadn't seen Dr. Strange in a while. That wasn't too odd in itself, after all he did often have things to do that took time, but it'd been longer than usual and even Wong hadn't heard anything. Up until this point, Martin had only been worried because it'd been so long and Dr. Strange had promised to teach him certain spells as a birthday present. But his birthday had come and gone and no Dr. Strange was around. So Martin had been spending his time at the HQ feeling a little dejected.

Of course, that was until he saw the news.

Liars! They were nothing but LIARS!!

Dr. Strange was The Greatest! He was Sorcerer Supreme! Did people not know what that meant?! He'd never ever do the stuff they were claiming. Never! How dare these people talk nonsense and slander about his mentor? How DARE they?!

Martin stomps off to the training room to unleash a little.

	The sparks don't die down but at least his eyes aren't glowing blue in such a way that the pupils can't be seen. "The TV and newspaper people," he replies looking awfully lost and hurt. "They said he set demons and zombies on a city. He's not a bad guy." He'll realize later that he's technically talking to a 'bad guy' by some people's definitions. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"B-but...they shouldn't say it at all." He sighs and looks at his feet. "I haven't seen him in a while, I think he's been busy but usually he leaves word or something. He promised to teach me spells and hasn't come back yet. And now the first thing I hear about Dr. Strange is that they're calling him a bad guy!" Martin looks quite annoyed at this before it dawns on him that she was technically a thief.

"But not your kind of bad guy. You just kick people. And steal things. But like the type of bad guy who's evil and uses magic for bad things."

Adrienne would hardly consider herself a "bad guy." Most of the people she had stolen from had, in fact, been quite the bad guys themselves. And true, some of the jobs she had taken had been a good deal shadier, but in general...

That was technically beside the point at the moment.

"I am what I am," she concedes, "but I admit to it. But your teacher should not have his name sullied like zat."

	Martin perks up a little. "I told people! I am sneaky when I want to be." He jumps up to sit on one of his discs and let his feet dangle off the edge. "Ooh, I like that one!" He puffs up a bit with pride. This made him even more useful and likely to stay on the team! Perfect. Magic people were always needed.

"Nope, magic can be very unpredictable. And if we ever fight someone with magic then I'd be extra useful." There's a pause and he realizes that nobody has asked the new teammate the important questions yet. He had to fix this.

"Oh, you didn't answer part of the team entrance test," he says then looks at her very seriously like the next questions were related to life and death. "What are your opinions about explosions? And what are you opinions about demon hunting?"

If she was surprised by these questions, Adrienne did not show it. She was good at schooling her expressions when she had to.

"Explosions? Zey are a useful distraction, and sometimes quite useful for breaking things when more subtle methods will not do."

"And demon hunting? I suppose zat must sometimes be done. I am not so sure how well I would do against demons, but I would give it my all."

There's a long moment before he answers as he seems to be giving great thought to her answers before sighing. "Well I guess at least you're okay with both. But you should like explosions more, they're fun. As for demon hunting...at least you'll try it. Some people really don't want to. I think Manny doesn't like supernatural stuff. It scares him."

He leans back on his hands as he sits on his disc and a thought occurs to him. "Oh! Are you scared of ghosts?"

	Martin just stares dumbfounded. The reaction would be the same if she'd asked if gravity was real, or if trees existed. How could she not know ghosts were real? They were everywhere! Granted, not everyone could see them but still! "...You...didn't think they were?" (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
