It was a day full of meetings and scheduled phone calls. As always. Anya looked at the clock and had twenty minutes before her next meeting. Just enough time to head down to the cafeteria and grab something to eat. She was starving and needed some caffeine. She had too much blood in her caffeine stream. She hated it when that happened.

She stood up and left the office heading for the cafeteria.

	Blasts and explosions fit right into Kelly's dreams, so she stirs a bit, on the edge of consciousness, but doesn't immediately awaken. The single shot amidst the noise though causes her to sit bolt upright in bed. She'd know the sound of that ASP anywhere, and unlike herself, Bea was not prone to using dangerous items at bedtime. Martin's room is so spelled and charmed up that it's a danger zone in it's own right. But one without any loud noises like that, so the gunshot jerks him awake where he lands on his bed with a thud. Levitating in his sleep again, great.

Wasting no time, he puts on a cloaking spell and his hat and teleports to the hallway with Bea and Kelly's rooms. Because if there was a gunshot it'd be from there, and he didn't want people to shoot him for suddenly appearing.

So an invisible Martin and magic disc go floating down the hall to see what the commotion was.

	Manny shot up at the sound of the explosion. He was sadly getting used to weird happenings around here. He got up, and then realized..that was coming from Bea's room! "Bea!" Manny practically tore from his room, heading to Bea's room as fast as he could go. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Invisible Martin hears Manny's shouts and his disc zooms down the hall the their source to see...okay this made no sense.

Being invisible to everyone here gave him time to process but...it was hard to wrap his mind around this. On one hand, Anya was the boss and would never do anything bad as far as he knew...but why was she in armour? He recalled her mentioning once there was someone from her past that she didn't want bothering her. Mind control? Because while Anya would never do anything bad, he couldn't see Bea doing something like that either. Especially not something that warranted getting blasted.

Taking advantage of the extra time invisibility gave him before he'd be noticed, Martin stops and concentrates. He didn't read teammates minds as a rule (probably smart given who some of his teammates were) but these were special circumstances. So he concentrates and probes her mind telepathically, trying to read what was there and pick up the reasoning behind this. He hoped there was no mind control. That stuff sucked.

	Jack comes scurrying around a corner, clinging to the wall as he surveys the hallway. Gunshots going off without the sound of Kelly laughing meant something was seriously wrong. Reading her mind, what Martin picks up is a clear message: Destroy the Thunderbolts. Then destroy the other heroes.

That...wasn't Anya. Not normally. Something was wrong, very wrong and he couldn't even be sure of the cause. Mind control? Alternate dimension? Magic puppetry of some sort? Demon possession? No way to know right now. But he had to tell the others.

Still invisible, a message goes out to his teammates. Something's wrong with Anya. Her thoughts say she wants to destroy us, something probably happened to her, dunno what though.

	Kelly goes diving and rolling out of the way, her arm blackening and blistering a little with a skimming shot, already starting to repair itself. "She's trying to kill us? Oh man... that's hot." Adrienne had been... out. And certainly not stealing large sums of money from a widely known to be corrupt local executive and redistributing the money to more worthy sources like local charities and a keeping a reasonable finders fee for herself.

She had definitely not been doing that.

But she was still surprised when she returned to the firehouse to find out that for some reason everyone was fighting.

"What in ze name of...?!"

Martin just blinks at Manny's roar. That had surprised him. Though he thinks Manny will feel bad about this later, still, nothing could be done about that now. He barely gives Adrienne a glance but catches her up on the situation telepathically. Not that there was much they knew so far.

The cloaking spell would be good for another couple of minutes. He couldn't time freeze Anya while Manny was tackling her since he'd hit Manny with it too. In fact, as long as Manny was grappling with her it limited most of his spells. A sigh seems to come from empty air and Martin instead focuses on creating a barrier around the area to prevent any escape attempts from Anya and keep most of the damage in.

Now that Manny is in a way giving him a clear shot, Martin can target his time freeze spell at Anya alone. He mouths the incantation and a characteristic blue seal might appear on the Boss before spreading across her to stop her in time. He hopes Manny can keep a hold of her so the spell targets properly.

I'm trying to freeze her. Can someone knock her out please if it works? That's only going to last a few minutes

Well, this had gotten... interesting. She had heard, of course, of American super-teams who spent a great deal of time fighting with themselves, and she had even seen some signs of it with this team, especially between Martin and Jack. But she had not expected to be witness to something like this.

Lacking the offensive capabilities to hurt a power-armor user, Adrienne instead focused on staying out of the line of fire.
